Blown away by the maturity of Jem considering she's only 19, she's already a champion and the way she chats about driving with Jimmer it's like she's been racing her whole life (which might actually be the case!)
Aren't most professional drivers like this? Most get PR coaching from their younger days in karting, or at least that's what I've understood from open wheel racing sports
of course, 19yo is not that young for racing tbh.
Considering most 19 year olds I see eat tide pods or are setting buildings on fire during covid riots, yeah it's a pleasant surprise to hear her talk like this. She also doesn't seem shy to say it which is what jimmy needs imo. Real racing doesn't care much about excuses, though I'm sure the team boss would've informed jimmy of that already.

Super proud of Jimmer! I know we shouldn't put too much pressure on him, but on a track he didn't know (in the wet too) he still managed to get within half a second of the britcar champion... That's super impressive! Can't wait to watch every second of the new season!

We all including him know why he was picked so of course he does not want to be the RUclipsr that always comes in last but a talented amateur who can hold his own. I really love how far Jimmer has come with IRL racing stuff, but what I really loved, and it showed in this video, is that he has the same self-burn humor from when he was a smol shed dweller. I'm really happy to see Jimmy racing this year and I hope everything goes well!

Can't express how happy I am for you. I remember "that video" when you talked about the issues you were dealing with, losing the job, moving back to your mom's etc. And only a few years later here we are. How times can change. And it's important that you sometimes take the time to just pause, look around and think "wow this is really my life now". I've been through a similar journey and to this day, these brief pauses are the best moments of them all. Love ya, have fun!

When I was 8 and did my arcs test for karting I did mine at the same time as jem did. I grew up with Jem had some very good battles on track with her and some brilliant memories off track. She’s developed into such a talent and winning Brit car shows how good she is. Best of luck to both of them this season x

You need to attack the kerbs more! The curbs with the jagged edges you need to try and get your wheels hooked behind them to get you round the corner

get it jimmer i have watched since dam near the start proud of you you are the man show them that us simmers can do it in real life to
For wet kerbs in a kart. As long as only the front tyre goes over them you're generally fine. As long as you don't expect a lot of steering at the same time. On the rear tyres however... having a tyre over the kerb can reduce your acceleration considerably if you already have low grip. If you still have any sideways momentum in the corner you also risk spinning out. Kerbs that are used in the dry are the worst for this. New kerbs and kerbs that are hit a different angle in the wet, not so much.

im no expert Jimmy but one thing i learned is to lean out in the corners unlike a motorbike where you would lean in.
because the karts have a locked rear axle you want to lift the inside rear as much as possible 👍
