  • At just 4.9oz, the PH-170 NightHawk Ultralight Panhead fights well out of it's weight class as demonstrated in this video where this ultralight tripod head is used as a very effective ultralight rifle support.
Whether you are looking for the best hunting tripod head, or simply want a fluid smooth panhead for glassing, the Nighthawk panhead is the most compelling option when weight matters.

Have you tested shooting off the quick sticks + 3rd leg tripod setup? Any thoughts on that? I would be running a hunting weight rifle.

I have shot from the Quick-StiX Tripod setup! Personally, I had a challenging time holding onto a 2MOA target with the Quick-StiX Tripod setup (same 16lb rifle trying to test the limits). Though we have had customers take animals off the tripod mode, I personally have never used it in a hunting scenario. I'm just far more stable using the Quick-StiX with Quick-Clip as a front support, and then using my pack as a rear support. I would also say I'm more stable with that front/rear support combo than I am with even that large 40mm tripod in the video above. And, I can breakdown and rebuild shooting positions much faster than I can with a tripod (any tripod). Hope that helps!
