Its been said many times that any type of a support for a rifle is better than none, and thats very true.
However, its very important to try these things with your rifle doing what you do when hunting or shooting.

Great explanation of tripods! I run sunwayphoto carbon tripods. 1.5 years on one of them and at 3.3 lbs has held up really well for the $.

I’m thinking of getting the little crow gun weeks ball mount for my Bog. It’s a fantastic adapter for the bog but a little more expensive than I’d have hoped for. 159$ that’s as much as I paid for the tripod to begin with and it needs an adapter that’s just as expensive to really make it work right

The way the gun mounted on the slick 700, it seems like it would put a lot of undue pressure on the hand rail.

It’s a non issue for any quality rail made to take accessories. The ball head will slip and allow the gun to move before any damage happens.

No one asked, but my carbon fiber Innorel RT90CM in brown camo is rock solid and not super expensive. I have a Sunway Photo inverted 40mm low profile ball head (IB-40) that uses arcra swiss and picatinny (SDC-50 clamp). Love it.

The tripod is rated for 88 lbs and the ball head is rated for 55 lbs.

I added a Desmond 5.5" / 140mm arca swiss plate about 2" in front of the magwell. If you take the stock off the gun, you'll see the 2 hexagon spots you'll drill through. Add good quality bolts and nuts, and be sure to use loctite.

I'm a bit confused. What tripod would you recommend for the RRS SOAR Anvil-30 ARC Ball head? I heard you mention a Fatboy, but not a model. Are there any others that would work good with the Anvil-30? I'm dead set on this ball head, but don't know what to look for as far as bowl size. Are bowl sizes standardized across other manufacturers? You mentioned something about getting a tripod that is made specifically for the Anvil-30 as it seats better than standard tripods. Thanks for the video. I found most of the things you mentioned. Just like to know what works well with the Anvil-30.

The aluminum Bog and the Carbon Bog are only 5 ounces different in weight, not much difference.😊
