Good looking product and glad you guys put this out there. I just finished listening to Mark and Steve's podcast interviewing Shane and I'm now very much considering this option to shave weight - currently running the VA-5 head with the 624 tripod as you mention. Thanks again.

Take the pointless rubber bumper off from the Slik tripod. That should slim it up enough to give it more articulation?

It does help with a slight decrease in weight but still comes in contact.
