    It looks like an amazing sight. I've been using a Tommy Hogg for a few years and didn't care for the FE much, but this one with the removable wheel and the lock knob in the middle looks perfect. Any idea what the direct mount base looks like?

    • @stick__shooter
      @stick__shooter 3 месяца назад

      @@SandSArchery Hmm. So only one mounting position? One thing I like better about the Tommy is the multiple mounting holes.
      Will the dovetail be able to slide in closer to the riser than the direct mount? I like having my housing as close to the riser as possible.

      We will post pictures next week. But my understanding is that it will be closer to the Tommy Hogg base than the FE base

      @@stick__shooter3 mounting positions. Base looks similar to the grinder base. Dovetail will be similar or go slightly shorter than the hard mount.

      @@brycepick Thanks. I switched my order to the dovetail. Spot Hogg told me that the direct mount base would only cost about $30 if I wanted to swap it later on.

    1st axis adjustment?

  • @motoxron1

    Are they going to sell separate components so we can just upgrade a fast Eddie xl we already have and just swap head?

    • @SandSArchery
      @SandSArchery  3 месяца назад

      Sorry, the current line of sights from Spot Hogg can not be upgraded to a new base. Once you have a Boonie however, you'll be able to swap Bases for $30.

    • @SandSArchery
      @SandSArchery  3 месяца назад

      Ill also add that all housings from current Spot Hogg adjustable sights are compatible with the new Boonie

    • @brycepick
      @brycepick 3 месяца назад

      You can buy just the boonie base and swap over your current head. But you would probably be money ahead to just sell your current fexl and buy a full new boonie sight.

    How does the weight compare to a Black Gold Dual Trac pro and the the HHA Tetra Ryz?

    • @SandSArchery
      @SandSArchery  3 месяца назад +1

      I'm working on a video right now comparing the New Boonie with the HHA Tetra X3 and the BlackGold Pro Hunter all in the three pin configuration, which is very similar to the dual trac, but anyways the weight with the dovetails and the dovetail mount - Boonie is 15.1oz, X3, 13.8oz, and the black gold is 9.8oz

      As a follow up. I purchased a lift with a big factor being how incredibly good the lightweight bow felt when comparing to 3 other bows. Been holding off on a sight because there are so many good options out there I can't seem to make a decision. These video series are very helpful!!

    Isn't that First Axis adjustment in front of the riser?

    • @SandSArchery
      @SandSArchery  3 месяца назад

      Great question. At some point 1st axis from the industry blended in with 2nd axis. If you imagine looking at your bow from the side, when it's in the vertical position, its the orientation of the scope tilt. 2nd Axis is when you look at your bow from the back, the string side, and the alignment of the sight left and right tilt. If that makes sense.

    • @miguelfmorales4299
      @miguelfmorales4299 3 месяца назад

      What actually happened is that the industry stopped making the 1st axis. The 1st axis controls the rail left and right adjustment. The 2nd axis controls the up and down adjustment of the scope housing. 3rd axis is the in and out of the scope housing.
      The 1st axis benefit is that once 1st, 2nd, and 3rd axis are level, the shooter can adjust the 1st axis, so the bubble sits level with the natural cant. So, instead of adding weights to stabilizers, you can adjust the 1st axis. Paige Pearce talks about using 1st axis for that specifically.

    how is the windage for the bridgelock, a lot of sights tend to not have enough adjustment

    • @SandSArchery
      @SandSArchery  3 месяца назад +3

      When I received the sight, I tried to set it up the way it came but ran out of micro windage. So, I removed the sight housing flipped over the quick disconnect and re sighted in my bow. Now i'm pretty much centered on my micro windage with lots of right or left adjustment.

      It really depends on the configuration, but all orders placed now should be shipping by the end of June with plenty of time before September hunts.
