You young guys and all your technology are amazing. Your level of accuracy is light years ahead of me and my old, outdated equipment. I'm still using my old Browning Ballistic Mirage that I bought in 1994 along with my aluminum XX75 2514s. I've killed over 100 deer in my lifetime and actually have 4 P&Y bucks at the taxidermist as we speak, but I wonder how much better I might have done if I used modern equipment.
@@piercebronkite Thanks, I think. I wouldn't call myself a great hunter. I've just done it for a long time. I'm sure when you get to be my age (60), you'll have a lot more kills under your belt than I do.
@Tim Gruver Good advice, I'm sure, but at my age I can't justify spending upwards of a thousand bucks for a new bow. I bought a new Hoyt Carbon Matrix in 2011, thinking it would be the last bow I ever bought. Paid $1350 just for the bow. Had it two seasons. Hated it with a passion. Sold it for $450 and went back to my Browning. Not sure how much a new bow would help me now. My last 4 deer have all been P&Y.
I've never understood why people change bows every season or 2. The key to being good is using your equipment, and learning it. The shooter makes the shot, not the bow.
@@russelllangworthy8855 you seem to be doing just fine with what you have but, if you are interested in a new bow, I got my hoyt torrex brand new as a package all set up for $700. You don't have to spend a thousand plus to get a newer technology bow.
Thank you again! I sent you a msg about that kinda and I think you answered my question. I need to start with my bottom pin at 20 yrds and go back from there!
I have the spot Hogg fast Eddie two pin. I have had a lot of issues making it work, but things definitely got better when I brought the rail in some. I was running it too far out, and the balance was crazy, as it is a heavy sight. I had no front stabilizer, and running and 8" bee stinger fully loaded in back to compensate! I brought the fast Eddie in two notches to the bow, and it made a world of difference!
That happened to me with it all the way out it was so unbalanced and front heavy. I actually sucked mine all the way in as far as it goes. Shooting way better.. The reg one is better with out the dove tail. Way lighter.. Still I was getting pissed off with ranging and dialing.. Got the Garmin xero and everthing was so much easier and better
I just dropped my AR-19 housing holding my modified truglo power dot to the lowest setting....Wow! My slide "STARTs" out at 20 yards. Finally! Thank you. Lord bless. 🏹🤠👍
I had done a lot of online research on the Fast Eddie and went into my local shop dead-set on picking one up. In and out right? However, after talking with a very knowledge and experienced staff member for nearly an hour I ended up walking out with a Black Gold Pro Sight. Zero regrets whatsoever. Best sight I have ever used and wouldn't trade it for a Fast Eddie to save my life. To each their own of course.
With my black gold sight I have my indicator set at 60 and it’s maxed out at the top, when I want to shoot an exact distance less than 60 I roll my indicator to say 67 now my 20 pin will be 27, my 30 pin will be 37 and so on. I’m not sure if this will work for everyone but it has worked on my set up instead of zeroing my 60 backed off the top and losing that little extra clearance.
Great video with a quality explanation of a really complicated dilemma. I have a new Mountain Lite and have had Fast Eddies since the first year with the bare metal yardage indicator. I followed you through the whole video but I know from experience just how hard it is to explain the multi pin setup! 🥵
I would like to know more about single pin as well where do I start it to get the most range trying to be set up for TAC tournament @insideoutprecision
I sat with my Hogg Father and watched this video about 3 times trying to get it when it finally clicked. If you're confused, watch it a few more times with your bow or sight in hand.
Thanks for the video!! it would be great if you can do the same kind of video BUT explaining it with a ONE PIN sight, I start using the CBE Engage Hybrid. THANKS!
What do you think is somebody doesn’t want the really long distances. And you use the top 20 yard pin to calibrate the wheel, modify the top tape numbers to show distance below/less than 20 yards, and then use the bottom portion of the tape for the somewhat longer shots?

That site has 2 tape indicators it's basically a single pin with an "old school" bonus pin (used to ad a dot of white paint on the post) for once you are at the lowest position.
On the black gold sights you can unscrew the base from the sight right next to the sight tape. There are some place holder Allen bolts that can be removed and the sight can be shifted up or down there too. What would be the best position, or does that even matter? I had to change mine because it was running out of up and down adjustments when I started setting the dual trac up for the first time. Any input on that would be helpful.
Great Vid. Question? On the vertical 2 pin spot Hogg Fast Eddie would your same principles apply given I can’t adjust pins independently in the housing? I.e sight in bottom pin for initial calibration at 60 to allow for more yardage from sight before infringement!

I have a Mathew's VXR 28 pulling 62 lbs and running a Spot Hogg Fast Eddie XL double pin. I feel like I'm sighted in fairly well at 20 and 60 yd. My sweet spot is 40 yd. But when I shoot at 80 yds, I am shooting about 8 inches high. Thoughts?? I am running my Fast Eddie XL all the way out at the farthest mark/detent on the dovetail. Black Eagle Rampage, 350 spine, 4 Vane Max Hunter, 465 gr, 260 fps. Should I move my sight closer to the riser?
Been trying to find some info about peep alignment and peep height when sighting in a 5 pin mover sight. Something about setting your peep height at a middle distance to decreases the movement at the anchor needed to eclipse the peep and sight housing. Just wondering if you ever thought about making a video about that. I haven't really been able to find any good info on it and why its important.
I’m having an issue. I have the fast Eddie xl double pin and I am having fletching contact on the housing at about 80 ish yards. I’m shooting a prime ct3, 60 pound, draw length is 28.5, and a 7.4 gpi arrow. Is this the max I can get with my bow set up or is there a sight adjustment I can do? Thank you. I think my arrows are holding me back from more yardage, but maybe I'm missing something else? I have a Black Gold Ascent Verdict Assault 3-pin, pins go 20, 30, 40 yards, 40 yard pin is my "floater" (pretty low in housing), and sight tape starts at 40 yards at the top. If I can get to 100 yards with a lighter setup I would consider it, but I don't want to spend all that money and only get another 20 yards from 60...
If you’re only able to get that 20 yards on your slider then something else is going on. You should easily be able to get 80 or 90. Do you have a low peep height?

Another awesome video! I currently have a Black Gold Pro 5-Pin Sight on my Mathews Vertix. It's sighted for 20, 30, 40, 50, 60 for the fixed pins and have the 60y pin as the floater. If I understand you correctly, I can use my 60y floater to shoot exact yardage under 60 yards if I have enough room for adjustment on the yardage bar to move the sight housing up? I think it would be awesome to be able to dial in exact yardage between 40 and 60 yards with the Black Gold Pro Sight. Thanks for any help and info.
I love your videos and this is exactly what I have been trying to figure out. I’m pretty much good to 70 yards but past the bubble for anything longer. I’m still confused about whether I should start my pin housing high or low. Also is it better to have the site farther from bow or closer? Appreciate the videos. I use an axcel 5 pin.
account-ability _ thank you for the reply. I think I have just been looking at this the wrong way. I’m just trying to get distance for 3D. Thanks again. Time for some practice.
Hi on that site i put the level on top and my lowest pin dam near on the ring ,I shoot 80 yards with no adjust shooting over 100 yards Is no problem....I shoot 60 pounds...
Why does nobody have a video about moving the sight head on the yardage rail. I got a ultraview uv slider and I can't get the full sight tape use, however it looks like if I move the sight head up, then I could. Now will that effect my 20 yards and have to resight. Idk
Is the only difference between the Mountain Lite 3 pin and the Ascent Verdict Assault 3 pin the micro adjust? If so, what site head would you recommend over the two? Thanks brother, dig the vids.
I had a aneurysm trying to comprehend this lol. I guess because our sights don't have sight tape. I'm trying to help my wife out. She had a 3 pin. Pin 1 at 20yrd , pin 2 at 30yrd and that was it. She was bottomed out. A friend suggested the fix5 from trophy ridge. Well, same problem. 3 of her pins are smashed down. Pin 1 and 2 is set for 20/30yrd. I have no idea how to get her more range. Move the housing down and her vanes will hit. I think she's 25 inch draw, and I know she's shooting 40 pounds. I tried 1 turn on the limb bolts to increase the poundage but her tiny ass couldn't pull it. She did. But it was a struggle. So we had to back it off. Her arrows are cut way to long so I'm sure it would help to cut them to length and drop some weight on them.
Great Video , can you do the same on a signal PIN , I can't seem to get more than 85 yards out of both my CBE and Axcel landslide signal pin. I am 28.5 DL 70 pounds Mathew VRR 31 bow is tuned I get bolt holes . Do you have any suggestion thanks
So In regard to the Fast Eddie, At 8:28 in the video you talk about the position of the scope mount and how guys run it all the way up and that being incorrect for maximizing yardage. Isn't that exactly how you have it set up in this video? Thats the part im getting hung up on. Is the way you have the scope housing attached the correct way or no?
Ok so I think im figuring it out, correct me if im wrong. If you start out with the scope mounted as high as possible with the side bracket, Your bottom pin becomes higher and higher. There for going to 20 yard your should would be so high that you'd end up running your wheel down as much further to make your 20 shot. Thus eliminating a lot of travel in your dial. Got it. Its a brain tease because you think you want to get that scope as high as possible to get the most clearance at longer distances. Great video though as I have both these sights and have struggled with clearance after 86 yards. But that part I believe is due to 261fps and a low peep height.
I just purchased a Hogg Father double pin. I have a 28”DL and maxes out at 70+DW. I just got it in and haven’t set it up yet but from what I’m hearing, should I start with the housing closer to my riser and run the site tape off of the bottom pin? I have 0.010 pins and I’ve been shooting the HoggIt for years fully extended for better accuracy. Would bringing the Hogg Father closer to the riser effect the accuracy but extend range, vise versa?
I'm shooting a 500 grain arrow at 70 pounds and I'm only getting 95 yards out of my options archery 8s. Would I be able to get more out of this sight with a 300 or 400 grain arrow setup,?
I have the CBP engage single pin…. I’m having issues with contact past 70yrds. What’s your recommendation on how to fully utilize the 20 to 100 yard sight tapes?
So for example, you have your bottom pin set to 60, then your middle pin would read 50, and top would read 40 in the even and animal is closing distance to you?
I just got a bear cruzer g2 and using the sight that came with it. its a good old reliable 4 pin sight that you have to manually adjust up or down by loosening a screw. I have it set to 10 20 30 40 yards and I could adjust it down some more to get more range but I'm wondering how much the whisker biscuit would affect the accuracy over 40 yards?
James Orend I have the same bow, the whisker biscuit is great it’ll be accurate As long as it tuned correct way and you don’t need a top you don’t need a top pan as an attorney or pan because 1020 so close that you just basically wasting one thing you can really get 50 yards are you set up if you get rid of your ten yardand make a 50 yard pen with your bottom
Thanks Buddy! I have a question regarding SINGLE pin (Axcel AccuTouch Carbon Pro) set up for a much longer DL (32”) at 70# DW. I wish to get into 3D/Indoor archery. Any suggestions? Oh, arrows are Easton FMJ Dangerous Game 250, 4 Bohning Zen vanes, 100-grain QAD Exodus (768.9 grain) all flowing at 230fps. SILENT but Deadly! Oh, and I’m pulling this all with a Carter Whisper. I was thinking that the Axcel XP sight and Easton Eclipse or Superdrive27 are all the change I need. Please help! Thanks! And Semper Fi (USMC 91-97)
On a 3 pin sight, once you sight in the bottom pin sighted in, do you then move the bottom pin to let’s say 50 and then go back and sight in you 1st & 2nd pins to the closer desired distance, let’s say 20 & 35? Or will the sight tape be accurate for those 2 other pins??
Yep. Move your bottom pin to whatever you want it to be whe your sight is zeroed, then sight in the other pins for the desired distance. Most people run 20/30/40 on a three pin, but you can do whatever you want
So I have a slider sight. And my pins are at the top of my housing. I dont wanna move my housing right now . Should I lower my peep or raise my peep. Thanks keep up the videos.
Your peep height has nothing to do with where your pins are set. As long as the housing is centered on your peep you can move your pins where ever you want
@@InsideOutPrecision I used my bottom pin to sight it in so I could get some extra range. Then when I put the tape on I lined the 60 mark on the tape with that pin.
It depends on the manufacturer. CBE also makes an adjustable multi pin. Either grab the manual or download the pdf for your specific type because they will all be slightly different. This guy is also a very experienced archer so he will know how to rig things up to his/customers preferences.
Im cross-eye dominant, 38 years old beginner archer... i find it hard to believe that i could learn to draw with left hand at this stage, its just not as fine "tuned" as right. Would you say its better option to just stick with eye or hand dominance at this stage? My goal is recreational archery and hunting.
Im a target archer... Not great (560+/600) but Ive only been shooting archery for a couple of years. Im right handed, left eye dominant. When I started, the club coach admitted there was no way could I shoot left handed long term... I just close my left eye when I aim.
@@InsideOutPrecision i wear glasses so i can see a long distance and i wear a pair for close up and i want a magnified sight so i can see better when i hunt. If theres no crosshairs with magnification sights what other sights are there thats magnified?
It’s definitely worth nothing that black gold now offers a dual indicator so you can put a second indicator pin on your 20 or 30 for closer shots you still want to dial for and still get the most range
Wish I had a bow shop by me that actually helped people instead of just shove them through like cattle even though they just stand around most of the day
Great video!! I was just wondering though doesn’t that then essentially negate the purpose of having a long dovetail?? Just as well get standard sight length? I’m just a little confused. Thanks though for all your information.
Hopefully we are not shooting at game animals with archery tackle at 80 yards. We owe it to the animals we hunt to stick to ethical hunting distances. Understanding that ethical distances vary due to skill levels.
That is why it is always better to have a single pin , on a sliding sight. Why make it complicated? Hunting with a single pin is not difficult,,,know your equipment.
Great video! I love your content. Talking about being ethical: I think it is more ethical if you´re a good hunter at 70 yards with a bow than 300 yards with a rifle. Just my opinion, no offense to anybody.

There's nothing you can do with a single pin. The pin is fixed so you are limited to moving the sight rail.

Yep that's correct. If you start way high, you lose the ability the dial exact distances at lower yardages.
If max distance is your goal, start your housing higher, and closer to your riser.
account-ability _ thank you for the reply.
The reason I don't shoot past 50 is because I'm old and I suck.
Yeah this video was for a slider sight so it doesn’t really apply to fixed pin sights. She won’t get more distance until she gets her draw weight up
Great Video , can you do the same on a signal PIN , I can't seem to get more than 85 yards out of both my CBE and Axcel landslide signal pin. I am 28.5 DL 70 pounds Mathew VRR 31 bow is tuned I get bolt holes . Do you have any suggestion thanks
Without being able to drop the pin in the housing there's nothing you can do. I'm guessing your peep height is fairly low ( under 5½")?
@@InsideOutPrecision
You where right it's 5 and 1/4.
Thanks alot for the help , the new merchandise great on the website.
Would that fast Eddie set up be pretty much the same as the hha optimizer king 3 pin ?most I get out of my bow 50yd , 27"1/2 hoyt pro defiant 67lbs
Thats all going depend on peep height and arrow speed
My Garmin Xero makes these sights look hard.
Where are you located? I wish you could help me set up my sight, I need help so bad!
@@InsideOutPrecision thanks
a start to finish on setting up a single pin HoggFather would be nice...like your vids. been following/sub since you started.
Single pin you shoot out to 60 marking your 10yrd increments and find a sight tape that lines up with those marks. Then just lay it over
Does this apply to the triple stack as well??
If I calibrate my bottom pin instead on my top pin will I get more distance?
So basically... sight in the pin lowest in the housing. Which gives max clearance for arrow flight under sight housing
Corrdct
Is it normal to have your 20 pin on the triple stack be above the indicator tape 20 mark to get it zeroed?
Well you sight it in at 20 first, then out the calibration tape on with the 20 mark lined up with the indicator
@@InsideOutPrecision I used my bottom pin to sight it in so I could get some extra range. Then when I put the tape on I lined the 60 mark on the tape with that pin.
Would the same concept still apply to the SH triple stack?
Yes
Would you ever use a single pin for hunting?
So I want to mount the scope housing all the way down. Not high
What I understand is sight in my fasted bottom pin at 20yards the put on calibration tape and Walk back tune Sir ?
It depends on the manufacturer. CBE also makes an adjustable multi pin. Either grab the manual or download the pdf for your specific type because they will all be slightly different. This guy is also a very experienced archer so he will know how to rig things up to his/customers preferences.
Would this work also for a single pin fast Eddy?
Does this theory work for all 3 pin adjustable.. I have a covert four pin adjustable and I removed one pin fora better sight picture
If you lower your pins in the housing it will help get you a little more change
Any clue one where I can find the quickstand sticks for a PSE EvO NTN?

Im cross-eye dominant, 38 years old beginner archer... i find it hard to believe that i could learn to draw with left hand at this stage, its just not as fine "tuned" as right. Would you say its better option to just stick with eye or hand dominance at this stage?
My goal is recreational archery and hunting.
Check out Elk Shape RUclips channel. He has the same problem you speak of. He might be able to shed more light to help you out.
Im a target archer... Not great (560+/600) but Ive only been shooting archery for a couple of years.
Im right handed, left eye dominant.
When I started, the club coach admitted there was no way could I shoot left handed long term... I just close my left eye when I aim.
@@sahhull if you reach out to Elk Shape he can give you some advice. He is in the same boat you are. Just a thought. Take care and good luck.
Im looking for a sureloc sight with the 4 6 8 magnified lenses with a clarifier. I want the crosshair sight. Do you sell those?
We don't. Also they're made by Feradyne who is on the verge of bankruptcy. There are better sights for much less money!
@@InsideOutPrecision what sights would you recommend?
@@scottkaercher1733 wait are you talking about tue scope? Or the sight?
@@InsideOutPrecision i wear glasses so i can see a long distance and i wear a pair for close up and i want a magnified sight so i can see better when i hunt. If theres no crosshairs with magnification sights what other sights are there thats magnified?
@@InsideOutPrecision im sorry i meant a scope. I have bad eyesight so i need magnification.
It’s definitely worth nothing that black gold now offers a dual indicator so you can put a second indicator pin on your 20 or 30 for closer shots you still want to dial for and still get the most range
Yeah for sure. But theres a lot of people out there with the older style.
Starting at the bottom a little confusing? That go's agains everything I know, but hay what do I know?
Wish I had a bow shop by me that actually helped people instead of just shove them through like cattle even though they just stand around most of the day
and here I am with a 8 pin sight lol.. 30 to 100 yards lol
How much are those prices cost
Justin Serafini I bought a Black Gold Pro last Saturday and I paid 400 for it
Great video!! I was just wondering though doesn’t that then essentially negate the purpose of having a long dovetail?? Just as well get standard sight length? I’m just a little confused. Thanks though for all your information.
Longer dovetail allows more precision but may create a trade in distance
May just be me, but I feel like I shoot better with the top pin being the mover pin.
What sight is that?
Is there a contact number I could call to discuss my sight situation? I would really appreciate it.
Call the shop at 541-746-9711
Hopefully we are not shooting at game animals with archery tackle at 80 yards. We owe it to the animals we hunt to stick to ethical hunting distances. Understanding that ethical distances vary due to skill levels.
That is why it is always better to have a single pin , on a sliding sight. Why make it complicated? Hunting with a single pin is not difficult,,,know your equipment.
I understand everything but it still gave me a little bit of a headache
Great video! I love your content.
Talking about being ethical: I think it is more ethical if you´re a good hunter at 70 yards with a bow than 300 yards with a rifle. Just my opinion, no offense to anybody.
What you think is ethical, someone else may have different ideas. Ethics are like that. As long as you are happy with what you are doing
