    I like the 2” housing on the SH works great for me with a quarter inch peep, excellent for low light hunting.

      After shooting the Spot Hogg's as much as I have been lately, I'm also a huge fan of the MRT rings. So easy to center up, no matter what lighting situation your in.

    One thing to consider is that the Spot Hogg is the only sight with fully micro adjust pins and a detachable sight tape wheel of those 3 sights. Both of which add weight.

    • @tullymahin
      @tullymahin 3 месяца назад

      If you can detach the sight wheel, wouldn't that reduce weight?

    • @brycepick
      @brycepick 3 месяца назад +2

      @@tullymahin You can't adjust the sight for different distances with the tape wheel off. But it is an added feature/benefit especially if you want to run different arrows out of the same setup. It's also a lot easier to put sight tapes on when you can take the wheel off. I was more referencing that the boonie has a few pretty substantial added features that do add some weight to the sight compared to the other two sights. A black gold with the micro adjust pins and windage and the HHA tetra Max would have been more comparable models to the Boonie in terms of features and the weight would also be more similar.

    • @tullymahin
      @tullymahin 3 месяца назад +2

      @brycepick Yea. The boonie is the one I'm getting. It seems rock solid and has more features over, despite the added weight. If you are using the Mathews, you can take that bracket off, and it reduces at least an ounce, I think.

      @@brycepick I was joking about the sight wheel.

      I’ve had sights without microadjust. Never again. And yes, those nice little features should have been highlighted more, because trying to bump a sight pin is maddening, but microadjust is a breeze and gets the sighting in done with no frustration. So the weight comes with the features. Sights with microadjust weigh more, you have to decide if a few ounces is worth it, it’s very worth it to me!

    It looks like on my BG Ascent Verdict I could transfer my Vengeance head (micro adjust 5 pin with graduated pin sizes) to the Verdict.

    I like the spot hogg, the fibers are protected on the sight pins, I'd rip the fibers out on the BG elk hunting, which I have in the past, not good

    Great comparison…how would the UV Slider compare to these 3?

    • @SandSArchery
      @SandSArchery  3 месяца назад +3

      Probably should have included the UV Slider in this video. In our opinion, The UV Slider has a great design, best sight in process, indicators are very precise, dual dial is comfortable and easy to use, love the quick break and adjustments are very easy to make. The few things we don't care for is the micro windage doesn't have a very good locking system, which could possibly turn if not locked. The housing is the biggest fall off from the other sights. Unfortunately the pins are not bright when using the no light cap, here in Idaho we can't use a lighted system so thats where the pin performance suffers. However, it's still a great sight and I think a lot of it depends on if you can use their LED lighting.

      @@tannerk45 my UV Slider was returned the same week I bought it. Windage knob rattles like crazy. Currently I like the HHA Tetra Ryze and UV3XL combo. Also a fan of the Axcel Lanslyde.

    dovetail was designed for torque tuning to optimise forgiveness, peep usually are a screw in appature to match the peep size to the housing, never the otherway around.
