      I agree, the 2.3 is great for starters. A good tune, fuel is mostly all you need. You’ll need a least $250,000 for a proper setup including a truck, camper, trailer and spare parts. Some people ask why the spare parts? A proper fuel pump or short block doesn’t show up on your doorstep in two weeks, it arrives in four to six months. I recommend to most new enthusiasts not to commit. Your better off buying a house and starting a family first.

The GT will be roughly $200 more month tops, that's not much in grand scheme of things. Sure I may pay $100 or more on insurance as well, and I may pay $200 extra more monthly in gas because I can't keep my foot away from the gas. After driving both GT and Ecoboost (2016 both) for a few thousands of miles, it is pretty clear which to choose. The answer is, it depends:) Ecoboost is clearly better in daily driving. It is quicker in daily driving situations (meaning no high revs), quieter, and has better mpg. GT is clearly better for weekend fun, because of the better sound, and more power if you push it hard. I can’t really decide for long roadtrips, but I tend to go with the quieter one.

    No do not buy a four cylinder motor. It will start using oil after 40000 miles and when you take it to the Ford house they will tell you that is normal. It runs to fast and over heats. I do not understand why Ford did away with the V6. Now they are really trying to push this car off on to people. That is also why people are buying Chevys because they still produce a V 6 engine.

  • @PhilMante
    @PhilMante 4 года назад +1

    What do you get in a V8?
    -Speeding tickets
    -Anxiety that someone will chip the paint on your car
    -Cops stalking you
    -Boomers asking you about the car
    -A waste of HP because you can't go faster than 55 MPH on the highway
    -Laid.
    What do you get in an 4-cylinder ecoboost/V6?
    -The speed limit and well over if you want
    -Better fuel economy
    -190 HP in a V6, 305 HP in a turbocharged Ecoboost
    -Cheaper insurance & purchase price
    -Laid.
    Honestly, Unless if you race cars and needed a fast car, there is no reason to buy a GT. If you're a blue/white collar worker, an Ecoboost/V6 is good enough.

      Jus cuz a "REAL" Mustang has to have a V-8, BUT EVEN the early 2000's MACH 1
      ALL ALUMINUM 32 valve DOHC ONLY made 305hp. This Eco Boost 4 CYL makes 310HP Which is even more power than the 64 ORIGINAL HI PO V-8 ENGINE and More power than Many Other V8 Stangs. The 2.3L is a Great Engine no need for a V8 Anymore. At the power level it's making, IF the 2.3L was a V8 it would be making 610HP. The 2.3L is also better at Hi Speed handling is more nimble than the heavy V8
      Jus ONLY IF YOU wanna BURN MORE GAS, BURN more TIRE RUBBER and BURN more money buying it ALSO BURN more money on insurance, BUY A V8. BUT a 2.3L can be made to make V8 POWER too, IT"S that good of an engine! Not sayin the 5.0 is bad.

    I’m currently in the market for one of these two, but I’m young and I’m thinking about the eco boost, I gotta say it was very reassuring when you showed how good an eco boost can sound with an after market exhaust, especially the one you had. May I ask which one that was, the turbo sounded amazing!

    Nice vid as always bro. One point of contention. You said several time how much better on gas it is but I have seen several videos of people that have driven or owned both gt and eco and say it is barely better on gas. Now for road trips i'm sure it is better but they all say for day to day driving it's only a few mpg better per tank. Just from what I've seen not from personal experience though. Stay safe

    Just purchased a 2018 "Orange Fury" Ecoboost Mustang Convertible in July It's a really cool car! At 55yrs old, this is my 4th Mustang (my first car in 1983 was a '71 Mustang Conv. I also bought a new '99 Mustang GT before purchasing the 1970 in 2006) I presently own a 1970 Coupe with 450hp. But this turbo is nothing to laugh at. I do miss the exhaust rumbling. But a turbocharged convertible? NICE!!! Thanks for the video - I'm here in Pittsburgh, PA so I'm not looking forward to the snow either.

    I got an Ecoboost for 27k with minimal options but i have a Friend who has the Ecoboost with all the options and he got his for 31k both in rural Ohio but it's not a bad car at all it will burn tires off and whip donuts all day. It's a really fun car. I wish I had it in highschool.

      @@LawDogg lol...it's slow..... get your 5.0 and just remember to add $10k to make your car supercharged with stage 3vmp performance whipple. Other wise your gt would get raped by someone spending 4-5k in mods in the ecoboost. So factor in a cost of a new gt 55-60k+10K for supercharger.
      So the 5k mods is essentially exhaust system change, fuel pumps, and bigger turbo and a tune. Seen people get 440 Rwhp in them. When you start going e-85 and change the stock block they had it at 700hp. As of now the only limiter is the ECU.

    • @reaverdropper2997
      @reaverdropper2997 4 года назад

      @@iRant4u turbo kits is the word ur reffering to. Car already has everything to run the turbo. Upgraded fuel line and bigger turbo head is where you will see the jump in hp. Also turbo heads are like 1500-2200 depending on model. Fuel lines are $350-800 depending on injector size. Or if running meth. Point is for 5k more i get a premium version of ecoboost and faster than a stock v8 base model. If u buy used sure wouldnt make sense but buying a used v8 means they traded in cause they had fun with it and insurance premiums are ridiculous. My car brand new im only paying $130 full coverage.

    EcoBeast, I have been searching frantically, but no one has done any 0-60 pulls on RUclips with the new 10-spd transmission. I keep hearing the stock Ecoboost will do sub 5.0 seconds now on dry roads, and almost down to 4.0 seconds with Stage 3 tunes, but no real proof or data yet.

I smile, depress the clutch, hit the start button and let my long tubes speak! I have driven one, and to their credit, I will say that they are pretty quick.

    Nice, informative vid. There are still a few 2017 GTs out there on lots. The price difference from the 2018, plus my dislike of the new front end, tipped me to a new 2017. Got a base coupe for just under $29K. Now I've put $6K into it and it's over 510 HP. For $35K, that's a MUCH better perfomance option amd value than the 2018 Eco. If folks are into cooled seats, magnaride, big screens and bells and whistles, that might overcome it for some. To each, his own.

    You gotta give ford some credit, They are doing some damn good work with turbos. The ecoboost is a sporty engine through and through, I'd say it's far better than the V6. It's the same 2.3 in the Focus RS, just with a little less power and gets way better gas mileage.
    I'd say the ecostang is a satisfactory option under the GT.

    I just bought a 2019 Ford Mustang EcoBoost Premium Edition. I love it. It is one fast car for price and quality put into the version I bought. Also; if you get Ford Premium maintenance Package for the car for 6 yr/60,000 they treat you like VIP and you get free OIL CHANGE every 5,000 miles...and replacement on any engine parts. It cost about $100 more for it but think about the wear and tear if you're using that as a daily driver. @@seelowz I think you're confusing crank and wheel at this point. Also there's tons of mods that don't help and tons that do. Research is key - Buying a stage 2 Cobb setup won't get you anywhere near a GT but a downpipe, proper exhaust and proper intake with maybe a new turbo and properly sized intercooler and piping, you're set in the same field as a GT. Comp sells a turbo that pushed to 520hp on 20psi, wheel.

      Sly Boxxy I’m not confusing anything , I was running e30 , airaid tube with stock airbox. MAP dp & ETS Intercooler kit with MAP DP. Without a big turbo you won’t even reach 400.. I was tuned by Adam. I’ve had both cars and the GT is just different. Unless you compare it to older gen coyotes then yes. The eco won’t hold “500” hp unless you dump more money into the motor itself

  • @joemama2907
    @joemama2907 5 лет назад +1

    There’s a small price difference between both cars, if you live in a place like Toronto were we get lots of snow your better off with the ecoboost and winter tires the GT will be parked up until April and you’ll be paying money for a car you can’t drive. Also put aftermarket parts in your ecoboost and run a tune and you’ll eat GTs for breakfast lol.
