The typical ignorant internet-comment... Well, I guess it depends on which definition of irrational numbers you are using, but in general, i is not irrational. "I know nascar is the most popular sport...so i'm going to go with a percentage greater than 50% which would be impossible for any sport other than nascar"
I find all sports horrifically boring (2 exceptions, soccer/football, and women's volleyball) ...but I know some trivia. NASCAR stands for the National Association of Stock CAr Racing. (thank you L. Ron Hubbard).
If you think about it, Bill was only in a couple of the books, and Charlie was only mentioned, he never made a physical appearance. At least if I remember it correctly, I haven't read the books in a couple of years.
Platypus of Death Yeah you might remember Charlie as the one who works with dragons in Romania and therefore helps out with the 2nd task in book 4. He also shows up in a few other places and although we don't physically see him in the first book he does help relocate Norbert.
It's Bill Charlie Percy Fred + George Ron Ginny And then Ginny and Harry had 3 kids: James Albus Lily (godchild: Teddy Lupin) And Ron and Hermione had 2 kids: Rose Hugo Percy and Audrey had 2 (?) kids: Lucy Molly II Bill and Fleur: Victiore Dominique Louis George and Angelina: Roxanne Fred II Charlie's single and Fred is (spoiler) dead.
I know that it reads as "the second" (Especially since Fred didn't have any kids so it wouldn't be "Fred Jr."), but it just amuses me to imagine George and Angelina's child being called "Fred Two."
Although I couldn't find the Family Edition of Wits and Wagers anymore I did get the Party Edition of Wits and Wagers because I saw this video. I try and play with other friends and it has proven fun. Thanks Wil Wheaton and Table Top. When is there going to be a Table Top episode on Big Bang Theory to expose Table Top to a wider audience?
Right? I guess they didn't understand just how fast that'd have to be. I'm pretty sure if a Bee could flap 6000 times per second it'd rip a hole in the space time continuum and become the first time traveling being in history... wait... maybe THAT'S where all the bees are disappearing to. They've succeeded at time travel. 😳
Hey Wil, I just thought I'd go beyond a simple thumbs up for this one. I really love what you're doing with this series, and I've actually purchased this game as a result of your video. I watched this one with a not-exactly-a-gamer friend, and we were able to connect a little better because of it. Thanks for the work you're putting into this.
They got the Weasley question and I thought everyone was going to put seven. Then Wil admitted not having HP knowledge, so I thought everyone but will. Then everyone was counting, so I thought someone would probably put six because everyone forgets Percy. Then NO ONE put seven! "Who's Charlie?" "Charlie's the oldest..." ...no he's not...
Binerexis Perhaps not, but everyone was certainly acting as though Veronica was an expert, and the guy at the end of the table (I haven't watched this in a while, so I forgot his name) was confident when he picked the question, because he read it to his kids.
My question is (MAJOR SPOILERS, I'm returning a lot so it shouldn't show up if you don't click Read more) Is Jimmy now technically fully correct, seeing as Fred died in book 7? Or was this game made before the 7th book?
You guys have helped me get my guys into B-Games. I also took a football to the eye, but my twin boys seem to be jockish at times so the Board Game stuff is a good balance.
Not only did you lose nerd cred for not having read Harry Potter, Wil. You also lose some because i is not an irrational number; it is an imaginary or complex number.
EdwardBerner i^(2) = -1 which is the same thing as sqrt(-1)^(2)=-1 sooooo. i^2 = -1 sqrt both sides sqrt(i^2)= sqrt(-1) LHS sqrt cancels with power of 2 leaving i = sqrt(-1) i really dont understand what you were going with this.
SPD My point was, that root operations behaves a little differently when complex numbers are involved. Your example uses the regular square root, which is only defined for numbers larger or equal to zero. In the complex plane, every root operation has as many "correct answers" as the number of the root you are taking. There are always two square roots, three third roots, four fourth roots and so on (except for the number zero). There is no good way to single out one specific result from these to be the "correct" one, so the square root of -1 is both +i and -i. So, defining i so that i^2 = -1 is cleaner. Also, here's why your example does not work: 1 = 1 (-1)^2 = 1 | sqrt both sides sqrt((-1)^2) = sqrt(1) | sqrt cancels with power of 2 -1 = 1
EdwardBerner 1 = 1 My example does work the reason why you got -1 = 1 is because you only worked on the LHS and completely ignored the RHS. but if you do the same thing you did to the LHS and just work the RHS you still get -1 = -1. (-1)^2 = 1 | sqrt both sides sqrt((-1)^2) = sqrt(1) -1 = sqrt(1) || sqrt(1) = sqrt(-1 * -1)
Oh gawd... I can't breathe....this episode is by far the funniest I've seen of TableTop (and that is saying something 'cause I've died watching other ones though this one has made me cry and my sides hurt!!!)
For the bee wing flaps per second, you can just think about the approximate pitch of a buzz, and keep in mind A above middle C is 440 Hz. So yeah, around 200 something sounds right.
HOW COULD YOU NOT GET THE WEASLEY CHILDREN????? There is so much shame... it is done.... Also, Wil, "my children grew out of it" - one does not simply one out of Harry Potter!

Nascar doesn't necessarily have to be over 50%, but Football cannot be over 50%. If football is 50.001%, Nacar would be less than 49.999%, therefore making football the most liked sport.

A series of seven fantasy novels written by the British author J. K. Rowling. The series chronicles the adventures of a young wizard, Harry Potter, the titular character, and his friends Ronald Weasley and Hermione Granger, all of whom are students at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. The main story arc concerns Harry's quest to overcome the Dark wizard Lord Voldemort, who aims to become immortal, conquer the wizarding world, subjugate non-magical people, and destroy all those who stand in his way, especially Harry Potter.
Honestly, Wil, you don't lose ANY nerd points for not reading Harry Potter, because honestly they weren't a very well written series. I suppose you could lose some geek points though. *shrug*
I have to question if any of them have ever seen an 18oz package of Oreos. Because there are 3 even rows meaning their answers divide into: 8, 6, 12, and 20. And if you think about it like that the 60 doesn't seem so weird.
Anyone else rewatching all of these videos for the millionth time? Anyone else wish Wil comes back with his own channel and bring back Tabletop? Me too

Not only did you lose nerd cred for not having read Harry Potter, Wil. You also lose some because i is not an irrational number; it is an imaginary or complex number.
Lol (-1)^(1/2) kids. I laughed too hard at that. But yes he was wrong.
SPD Well, technically _i_ does not equal sqrt(-1), since both +i and -i qualify for that. The actual definition is that i^2 = -1
EdwardBerner i^(2) = -1 which is the same thing as sqrt(-1)^(2)=-1 sooooo.
i^2 = -1
sqrt both sides sqrt(i^2)= sqrt(-1)
LHS sqrt cancels with power of 2 leaving
i = sqrt(-1)
i really dont understand what you were going with this.

So, defining i so that i^2 = -1 is cleaner.
Also, here's why your example does not work:
1 = 1
(-1)^2 = 1 | sqrt both sides
sqrt((-1)^2) = sqrt(1) | sqrt cancels with power of 2
-1 = 1
EdwardBerner
1 = 1
My example does work the reason why you got -1 = 1 is because you only worked on the LHS and completely ignored the RHS. but if you do the same thing you did to the LHS and just work the RHS you still get -1 = -1.
(-1)^2 = 1 | sqrt both sides
sqrt((-1)^2) = sqrt(1)
-1 = sqrt(1) || sqrt(1) = sqrt(-1 * -1)
