Secondary drowning is a real concern. A lot of people do not get their children medical help after near drownings, because they do not realize that residual moisture in the lungs can stop lung function. She did the right thing calling for help.

It's not just a nightmare, it's malpractice. I'm so fed up with the way doctors treat black people, they clearly weren't trying to revive him at all. This is insane, and everyone involved should be prosecuted on top of losing their licenses.

They did not only have narcolepsy because narcolepsy alone will not mess with your heart rate like that. Not that bad to where people can't detect a heartbeat and think you're dead.

I Had both knees replaced in my 20’s because of RA and it’s a horrible feeling, when they move out of place. Thank God she was able to get up, and pop it back in place. These people are amazing. Bless their hearts.

feel so bad for that first mom. You know the kids must have been askin to go to the pool all day and she was prolly cleanin up around the house trying to relax on her day off so she says yes thinking shed get a minute of peace. I cant think of many parents who didnt let their kids go to the apartment/local pool with family if it was walking distance.
I walked into a pool one time as a kid because i wanted to go swiming i sank straight to the bottom and was just chilling down there holding my breath and some dude swam down and yeeted me back up

I almost drowned when I was four. I dived into an inflatable donut head first and my feet didn't go through. My feet were above the surface and my head pointed at the bottom of the pool. Literally remember thinking "well, that was a short life". Also remember how bad my nose hurt from all the water gushing in. Can't stand nose drops to this day, but I'm glad my mom saved me well in time. Glad this little girl is doing well too.

Regarding the first rescue - the mother did the right thing by calling the ambulance just in case because even if you DO manage to get someone out of the water and they seem ok, there is still the risk of secondary drowning, which is caused by water that had been swallowed.

when my little sister was six (shes very hyper naturally) she was dancing around the living room and fell off the couch which caused her to dislocate her knee. She also likes to exaggerate her injures so half the time we don't believe her when she says shes seriously hurt. She said she broke her leg, we didn't believe her but took her to a clinic across the street just to be careful. When they were getting x-rays she screamed so loud a nurse came in to make sure everything was okay. In the process they accidentally popped her knee cap back in place and she was completely fine. Its weird how stuff works like that lol

I think it's really sweet that no matter how old a patient is even if it's obvious that's probably had hundreds of blood tests and IVs they still tell them things like "tight band" or "slight pinch" in a calm voice. I find it soothing

The lady who had her artificial knee break, my mom had that happen to her hip. It was so scary. She ended up passing out in the kitchen, but thankfully we caught her in time, but it was a big deal.

My dad was a fire chief for aurora colorado on my son's second birthday we where having a pool party at my friends apartment complex a few blocks down a boy the same age as my son fell into a pool and drowned and my dad was called to the scene I'll never forget the phone call I got and my dad just begging to hear my son's voice as he was rushing to save this other child 💔💔 anytime these guys hear of a child they think of their own and that's the most amazing part of fire fighters and emts in my eyes
It is so awesome to see such caring EMT's and rescue workers. I've seen some that are just there to do their job and they can care less about the patient . When they talk to you and treat you like they've known you forever , it makes the whole experience so much better for the patient.

I have the same problem about deep, rolling veins so I always tell the nurse taking blood to take it from my hand which never fails.
Me too. They can find them in my arm but they roll away real quick. I joke with nurses and say they know it’s coming and they hide. They laugh. I just say your gonna want the paediatric needle and go for the hand. They think I’m nuts for telling them go for the hand then they realize I’m not kidding. Sometimes they try my arm but it bothers me too much I actually start squirming around telling them to stop.
Same thing happens to me every time i have to do in the er for somthing they never listen because “im good with small veins” and i always end up getting poked a couple times until they actually listen to what i said the first time.
Sometimes I get the feeling that they think the last person to try was not as good as they are. I wish they would just accept that and not keep poking away 'needlessly'.
