Bro he’s 82 and it’s his first time being in an ambulance, I’m sitting here at 14 and I’ve been in on 3 times, I even made friends with the EMT his name was Ryan.

In March of 2020 I was sick for a few months and the infection ended up going to my heart and making it swell, I had 3 heart attacks and tried to walk them off (I was 16 and dumb I know). But when I did go to the hospital after having my worst on then the whole time I was just cracking jokes making everyone laugh. I nearly made my mother pee her pants because of my humor in the ambulance to the hospital so it was quite fun.
Also I'm big and healthy now working out and training myself to join the fire force so yall don't worry about me.

@@bethkrager6529 so your heart has its own electrical conduction system. A bundle branch block means one of those “wires” is broken or in bad condition where it delays or stops the electrical signal that tells the heart muscle to contract. This can cause issues with the heart contracting correctly which in turn causes issues with blood flow (probably why he fell and was purple while laying down but had color resume when sitting upright)

My heart melted when he walked in the kitchen to make her a peanut butter sandwich... their work is greatly appreciated and the fact he went as far to make sure she eat before they left was just amazing to me..
Peanut butter is great to help bring up blood sugar for a longer period of time. I get made fun of bc I’m a big guy and after my main assessments I check the fridge on diabetic patients to fix them something. Also orange juice with a lot of extra sugar works too. Also checking the fridge let’s you check for any additional medications or insulin

I’m pretty sure when dealing with diabetic patients, they have to make sure that they get a meal before they leave.

He probably has cyanosis or argyria. A few of my babies would do that in my class. I would freak out until one of the other teachers said it was normal for them.
@@GeorgiaWhisper No, it's heart failure in his case. The heart would normally pump the veinous blood, but in his case it was too slow and the veinous blood is stucked in his face.
Cyanosis is when the blood have less oxygen and doesn't oxygenate correctly the extremities (if you have problem with your lungs generally, but also if you have anemia) . The difference is that you saw that he immediatly regained his color when getting up, because the blood "fell" and evacuated.

The three-year-old with croup made me cry when he coughed. My son has had that three times and he's only one-and-a-half. :(
My son got it often, as soon as I heard that tell tale cough, into the bathroom with door closed and hot water in the shower turned on full blast, turned the room into a sauna. At night, steamed his room, just water vapour, no menthol, aways fixed it within a couple of days.
I had it when I was little, it sucks but you do outgrow it.
My three-year-old has had it quite a few times once somewhat recently. It always sound so scary. The wheezing in the really bad cough.

@@carleenjohnson9063 Yeah, but my son was born with laryngomalacia, so it was a lot worse for him. So I had to take him to the hospital each time. They gave him albuterol, but the issue was never with his lungs. They gave him racemic epi at the hospital we were at and it helped, but we still had to be transferred to Levine's. That was the only time he had gotten that bad and it was a nightmare.

Low key tho, that’s so true. I’m always scared when a cop shows up to “help” or supervise bc I’m afraid they’re going to start trying to find out who’s at fault instead of helping me out of the situation first. Even if there’s no one at fault I’m nervous. Firefighters and paramedics tho, there the best, only there to help and comfort, not to accuse and stress everyone out. Some cops are better than others, but a lot of them aren’t good at that at all.

there are very few people in the world that have that skin tone with some blue in it, but I've never seen someone turn purple like that laying down.
@@gen5574 Im not a doctor but, my grandma same thing, I heard its due to the thin skin they have and a bad heart rate. She gotten heart surgery and didn't have any more purple issues. but she would still bleed easily

There are conditions that turn you this color! I have one. Probably not the same thing as him bc my color doesn’t improve when I sit up. It only goes away with an antidote. My skin isn’t that bad but my nails, lips, fingers, feet and hands and tongue will be super blue/purple
ElizabethWright I’ve never seen anyone that blue/purple in the face either. I think deoxygenated blood appears blueish/purplish and the blood was pooling in his head and not being efficiently pumped back to the lungs.
When I put an oxygen mask on a child, I told them it was their “superhero” mask, worked pretty much every time :)
This is exactly what I was thinking to myself, that if I was trying to put it on my 3 year old son I would tell him it’s a superhero or Spider-Man mask, he would put it on himself lol
In 99 i got my tonsils out and i remeber them having a bunch these flavored balms. They let me chose one and my mask smelled like bubblegum. It was cool. But i dont think it was oxygen i remember getting sleepy then nothing else 😂

The 82 year old was why I loved bartending. He definitely reminded me of a few of my old regulars. They could get rowdy and closed the bar down more often than the college kids. 😂
My girlfriend is a bartender in slovenian small village, and she always tell me funny stories about her old regulars, god bless every one of them
Old bartender here.... Behind that bar is where I got my degree in observing human behavior, feeling compassion for the drugs of society in the worst of their addictions and learned more about forgiveness then I would have ever thought possible. People are people drunk or sober but when they're drunk they show you who they really are! And that old guy reminds me of some of my regulars too!

It was because of leaky valves in veins with age. Ever stood on your head and your face turns red? But don’t think you ever done it so long you turn purple. With older people it doesn’t take long to go from red to purple.
Purple is the color of deoxygenated blood. It only stays red when oxygen is present. Kinda why your veins in your arms and legs are blue purple. That’s the blood going back to the heart and lungs for a oxygen refill. Arteries that carry oxygenated blood sit much deeper closer to muscle and we don’t see them. It would be kinda a creepy to see super red arteries running through our arms and legs.

Those firefighters were so great with the 9 yr. old boy! He explained what was going to happen at the hospital so the young man would not be afraid.
Seeing those paramedics and firefighters taking care of that old woman made me internally cry. Becoming a paramedic has been the thing I've wanted to do the most since my grandma passed away. I wish i gave her the help those medics gave to that elderly lady. I'm really sorry Grandma. I can make it up to you by helping the people who need it the most.
