  • Is your washing machine making a weird noise when it drains water? If so watch this video on how to clean your drain pump can help eliminate the problem. In this video I found a collar stay that got put into the wash, stuck in the drain pump.
If there is nothing inside you will need to change the pump.
    Machine:
    LG Top Load Washer
    Tools:
    Phillips Screw Driver
    Raw to wipe up water

Why does no one record the noise its making!

Exactly. I'm searching for this now, and can't find any.

For the record my noise sounded like someone with a chainsaw cutting tree limbs and this was exactly the solution! I had followed the noise and knew that it was in fact coming from that drain pump!

I've been searching through a million videos trying to find someone who actually recorded the noise itself, and thus far no one has. That part is really frustrating; it would be nice to give us something to compare with the noises our own machine is making. All that said, thank you for explaining the fix!

Thank you!! I contacted LG for repair for the noise. They sent me a message saying most likely I could fix this myself, but the video they attached to help me was not my problem. After I did my own search based on the noise I heard, I found your video and it was exactly what was wrong! I feel awesome right now knowing I just repaired the problem on my own. I couldn’t feel anything in the motor, but used my wet vac and felt a vibration of something come through the hose, so that was definitely it. No more noise!! Thank you!

My machine has the same issue. However when I remove the drain tube that goes out to my drain pipe, water flows freely from it. I would think that if it were jammed that no water would come out. Perhaps it’s limiting the ability to push that water out?

I got a lg washing machine its front loader.
There is a ringing high pitched buzzing sound coming out of it lately seems to be when it’s heating up to me 🤷🏻‍♂️
What could this be ? It’s only a year and half old. Although a 2018 model it was unused and wasn’t bought till I got it in 2022 (had an amazing deal on it) but the warranty has run out and I cancelled the insurance 🙄😐🙈 and can’t afford a new washing machine before Christmas can’t even afford a bit repair either. Do you think it’s the element that’s going ? It’s descaled with all in one washing machine cleaner every other month on a “tub clean”
    Any advice would be great.
