Beginner Linen Baby Quilt - Easy Whole Cloth Receiving Blanket Tutorial

- This is a great beginner's quilt. It's made of a single piece of fabric called "whole cloth quilt" and hand top stitched, which is what gives it a pattern. I made mine with 100% linen fabric because I love the look and feel of linen over time. You could also use a linen/cotton blend or cotton fabric. Cotton will maintain its shape more and give you less of that crinkle look.
Took me about few days to make each with a couple hours of work in the evenings when my daughter went to bed. Hope you enjoy this tutorial!

I found this when doing my first blanket, I only did the edges...I had to do a desperate search as I’m going to do the whole pattern for blankets for my five grandchildren. So very glad I found this video again!!!
We are in the adoption process, and I am going to make this for our new baby! Thank you!
Love this and the beautiful sashiko stitching! You did such a great job!
I just found out I’m pregnant with baby number two and now I really want to make this quilt 😍. I’m a crocheter and a novice sewer, but this looks like so much fun.
This is so pretty!! I have so much linen I had no idea what I should do with it !! Never thought of quilting !! So very pretty hank you !!
I love your quilt especially the way you made the design ❤️
So pretty! I love whole cloth quilts!
Yessss!!!!! I’ve been waiting for this 😍😍😍
Thank you so much for this idea, I finished mine and love it!! ❤
This is such a sweet project! It looks very approachable too. Thanks for sharing!
I think we are due very close to each other:) my guess date is 2/10. hoping i can make this for my baby!
Love this! It looks beautiful and I really want to make one of these!
This looks gorgeous! I am thinking of trying to make one for the room I am preparing for our foster child. :)
I MUST TRY THIS !! Nice tutorial, thank you
Cannot wait to try this!!! So beautiful and this was a great tutorial!
Kitty! I just made this blanket using your tutorial, I don’t have Instagram but want to show you! I used an ivory linen and dark to light shades of blue embroidery floss 💙
Sounds beautiful!!
This is a great little tutorial!
This was sooooo helpful!!!
I love this so much and am currently working on one as well! When you're finished, do you wash it in your washing machine then hang dry it? Or can it go in the dryer on low? Trying to Google and having a hard time finding a proper answer.
I love how organic it looks.
So cute!
Love this 🙌🏻💗 and your Videos 🥰🥰🥰
So simple and precious! I think that scallop design would be adorable if you chose a few shades of floss! More time consuming because you would have to switch colors each row, but such a cute end result!
Love that idea! So many variations to make!
So nice! Thanks
I love this!
What a great project. Thank you for sharing. I will definitely try this one too :)
Please make more sewing project videos!
When using embroidery thread, you divide the strands from each other. That way using one strand of embroidery thread rather than the whole clump of threads.
I think Kitty used the whole clump, as this is the look she is going for and it looks wonderful!
I put this on my to do list for this year, may i as how many flosses did you use?
Can we do the machine stitching instead of hand? Any reason you did by hand?
Oh my gosh I know I am so late, but where is your little cradle/bassinet from?
What kind of thread did u use?
I wanna hand quilt but I'm worried about how it will last over time... one thread is accidentally cut and the whole thing could come apart 🤔 I think I might just use my machine
The same scenario could happen with the machine.. maybe try something smaller for hand quilting 🙂
