  • Lying down to exercise after a stroke can be just as productive as sitting or standing and might even be extra helpful if you’re just starting out. All you’ll need for this 10-minute workout is something long like a cane or tube of holiday wrapping paper.

After my stroke, I had an exercise routine that I would go through before I got out of bed. It really helped physically and mentally. My muscles stiffened with the exercise, but I felt I had accomplished something. Question... why do you feel stiff and exhausted after doing simple exercises like these following a stroke?

I've wondered that also, Ben. I also notice some dizziness after exertion, and my limbs feel weaker, temporarily.

@@cathylindeboo.9598 I've had lots of luck with adding electrolytes supplement to my water with muscle cramps. I wonder if that may help with your dizziness. My theory is that our brain works way harder to mend us than maintain us. That exertion must drink up electrolytes as if you were exerting physically.

Hello, hope you are doing fine.
I watch your videos intently. They are very valuable. Thanks for the same.
My right side is paralysed due to brain stroke I had three years back.
I am following your videos and doing exercises which I am able to.
Well, I am able to close my fingers but unable to open them.
Please let me have your opinion.
    Thanks

This assumes you have mobility on both sides of the body. I was looking for exercises for someone who lost mobility on their right side due to a stroke.

I have to ask you one thing that I noticed by myself…when I excersise like Monday , Tuesday, Wednesday….. and I do really a lot …. Then on Thursday or Friday I have such an increase in spasticity that makes me so frustrating…..do you also have that problem…? Is it a normal process…? Do I push myself to hard..?
