You are an inspiration to everyone that has suffered a stroke because you didn't give up which can be very easy to do. I recently came across a YT channel called rehab HQ. Tara Tobias is a neurologic Physical Therapy Specialist in Orlando. She has many videos showing different exercises for all areas affected by stroke, from a neurological perspective. I would have loved to find her 8 years ago when I had a stroke.
So thankful I found this I had an ischemic stroke 4years ago that paralyzed my left side and was abandoned by my family in the hospital during covid now I'm stuck in a horrible nursing home and trying not to give up the nursing home refuses to give proper physical therapy so I stay closed up in a room 24/7. Your story gives me hope
So sorry to hear your current physical therapy isn’t cutting it. Depending on where you live, try researching nearby facilities where you can get further assistance. Keep up the good fight.💪

Do not give up. I have a relative who had a stroke years ago. I knew that hospital food is garbage, so I took it upon myself to take her organic fruits and veggies, fatty wild fish and sea food, and high protein foods. I brought in magnesium and a natural vitamin C. I made to take her outside so she could get vitamin D. She got better quickly, and at that time she did not get physical therapy. I think a healthy, low sugar and carb diet is the key to healing. The body does not heal with proper nutrition. Don’t give up. Find relatives and friends that will help you. You will heal!

I'm happy to see you healthy! I've just had my 11th cerebral hemorrhage and doing well. The first three were the worst. Occipital, parietal and frontal lobes were affected I was a Beast at the gym, a Captain with a major airline based in Boston and had the world by the tail. I'm unfortunately still recovering from the first three. I was paralyzed for the first year afterward. January 21, 2002. I had just lost many friends on 9/11/2001, turned 40 Nov.2 2001, was teaching Anatomy and physiology 16 hours per day/ 4 days per week and flying to the west coast (flight 11) mostly on the weekend. My brain sort of exploded. I continued to bleed for 3 days making things worse. I walked into the hospital but had to be taken home by ambulance. I felt like I was the only one this kind of thing happened to. I'm 62 now and one month ago, i was hospitalized because of a right hemisphere epicranial bleed. I'm doing well. It doesn't sound like you have aphasia? I have enough for the whole world. GOD Bless!
So glad to hear your recovery. I’m shocked however by how young you were when you had this stroke! If you don’t mind, did the doctor ever explain what the cause of the stroke was?
You know what, I saw you actually answered this question in another video but I’m going to keep my comment so you still get the boost. Again, so glad you were able to recover!

You're quite the inspiration! Def look forward to watching more of your video's: I had two strokes last year, almost on my first year since, had my whole right side paralyzed, same part of the brain damaged but other side of my head, and im trying to keep moving forward. Anything you find helpful for working your fingers for typing in particular?
Thank you for the kind words. Tapping my affected hand and fingers to music has always been really helpful and definitely sped up improvement over the years. I’ve gotten a lot of dexterity back doing different things, will post a video soon on that. In the meantime, keep up the good fight.💪
i had an AVM rupture on my right frontal lobe and was left weak/paralyzed on my left side. I'm 18 months post stroke. I can walk but it's not back to normal and my arm is still very weak and flexes up towards my chest. I had just got my 3rd degree black belt a week before my stroke. I started training at the age of 9. I'm working hard every day to get my life back. Squads, walking, weight baring, stretching, treadmill, etc. what exercises did you do to regain your arm?
So glad to hear you were doing well. I will upload a video, showing specific arm exercises, however, regarding combating the tone/upward flex towards your chest w/ your left arm… Try to train your tricep as well as possible. That will help combat that upward tone motion. I had the exact same problem with my left arm, and was able to completely reverse it with consistent training and new creative training ideas. Keep up the good work💪
@@kevingocke This is awesome. A year ago, I had no arm movement, now I can lift it, especially while laying down but it's very slow and heavy. I still can't extend my arm to reach, due to the muscle tone spasticity. I will keep working hard. Thank you!

When you mentioned nutrition in the video, can you explain what you did different with your nutrition please?& What kind of exercises please? It's hard when you're abandoned by everyone& have to do everything yourself.
@@maribelmejia2693 thank you for your interest 🙏 I will upload a video next explaining in more detail. In the meantime, keep up the good fight.💪

We are survivors here. I just my stroke last Tuesday
I’ve gotten a lot of dexterity
back doing different things, will post a video soon on that. In the meantime, keep up the good fight.💪
This is awesome! Could you please let us know how long it took you to achieve this level of recovery?? Thanks.
Yes, of course! Stay tuned for next video where I’ll answer your question in detail💪
i had an AVM rupture on my right frontal lobe and was left weak/paralyzed on my left side.
Thank you!
❤❤❤

Hey there, sorry to hear about your stroke, but glad to hear you are not giving up! I have a few videos up on my channel where I go into more detail on my diet during recovery. I personally focus on high protein and supplement with a few things that really helped me. If you’d like, I also do online coaching and provide more detail in sessions, as well as accountability to help people recover quicker. Feel free to check out my website (www.Livepoised.com)if that’s something you might be interested in. For now keep up the good fight!💪

So what did you do to recover? I'm 8 yrs n I'm & still half paralyzed. What should I do?
Me too!
He said nutrition & exercise.
How long you took recovery
I had a stroke in April n just fighting through it my right side is weak but I keep on fighting
Sorry to hear about your stroke, but great job keeping that mindset. Remember, plateaus are a myth… As long as you don’t stop, your improvement never stops. It is gradual, but the compounding effects of training inevitably add up and you will be capable of things that once seemed impossible . Keep up the good fight.💪
I do lil exercise everyday. And physical therapy told me my leg is getting strong so far
@@zepedagabe awesome great news!

I’m 10 years post stroke I seem to have come to a standstill they gave me a a craniotomy
I was very close to a craniotomy several times while I was in a coma, but the tubes draining fluid from my skull were just enough to alleviate pressure.
I have felt like I was at a standstill several times over the last 14+ years, however, I’m always on the lookout for new barriers to breakdown. Still finding new ways to improve even this far along. Never give up💪
Nutrition iam 64 wat can i eat i keep checking wat i am eating
@@jeancosgrove2679 high protein has helped me tremendously. I eat roughly 1g of protein per pound of body weight.(per pound of lean body mass.)
