  • Today we have a 2013 Honda Accord 4 cylinder with multiple DTC's and warning lights. We diagnosed this car as having a faulty VSA (ABS) pump and walk you through the replacement procedure. This repair does require you to have a scan tool to perform the zero point calibration after the replacement. The bleeding procedure is pretty standard but we show you that as well. This process should be the same for 2013 Honda Accord, 2014 Honda Accord, 2015 Honda Accord, 2016 Honda Accord, and 2017 Honda Accord.

    My 2014 Honda Accord had these codes. I removed the black module (only 4 small screws and the wiring plug) and left the ABS pump body in. Since I didn't have to remove any break lines/tubes it saved me from having to bleed the brakes. I mailed the module into Module Masters and they sent it back in 3 days fully refurbished. $300 after shipping. Reinstalled it in 10 minutes, drove it around and the indicator reset itself after a few minutes. All fixed! Module Masters gave me a 5-year warranty on it. Easiest repair ever.

    Any video sharing knowledge on this problem is valuable. Thank you. That being said, it is even easier (as long as you have basic DIY skills) to remove only the black ABS module and leave the brake lines still connected to the silver colored block. Send the module off for rebuild and re-install. I used Module Master and got great service, plus they back their work up with a warranty. You can drive the car without the module - will be lots of warning lights on and no ABS/Traction Control. 2014 Accord Sport here.

      This is what I was wondering! So it is completely good to send the black module for repair while still driving with the main pump connected? Does it still require a brake bleed using this method since the lines are not disconnected?

    • @GoGators198
      @GoGators198 7 месяцев назад

      @@brindan1609No brake bleed needed because you’re not disconnecting any lines. Car will not have ABs or traction control. Cover up the exposed areas while your module is gone to keep dirt out of the electronics.

    Great, informative & helpful video. You likely will save some Accord owners a ~lot~ of money! It seems that Honda quality has been slipping these past 10 years or so. What a shame. I hope they can get it right again and I'm also hoping my '13 Accord 6MT never needs this repair! I don't think my next new car will be a Honda which is sad as I've been a Honda fan since buying a 1987 Civic Si back when I was starting out as a driver.

    Thank you for this video, and thank you all for the comments, learned a lot. I have a 2013 Honda Civic with this code ordered part and have been waiting for 6 months for the part to arrive current status unknown. Issue diagnosed at around 122k miles and currently have 132k miles on car. The light would come on and off intermittently since November of last year but erroneously received a suggestion from the dealer that it might be a software update issue so might not be a serious problem, they would only do it if the codes light up which it was not always on but maybe a few minutes every couple hours of operation back then.
    I saw someone got a loaner while waiting for this part to arrive. What functional aspect of the vehicle is not working?

    Hi
    I have a 2016 Honda Accord EX-L V6. My VSA light is not on but other lights on my dashboard are on. The ABS, Tire Pressure, BRAKE, Powering Steering, and the Stability Control lights keep turning on and off and keep repeating that. I scanned the car and the code 121-11 VSA Solenoid Valve Malfunction comes up. If the VSA light on the dash is not lighting up but my scanner has that code, do you think that means I need to replace the ABS Module? Also, how do I find out before starting this job if my scanner being (the CRP123 Professional) can do the neutral position memorization procedure?

      Ours was doing the same thing. I think it would intermittently lose communication with the vsa module. That’s more than likely the issue. It is a pretty commonly failed part. As for the scan tool I’m not sure but the previous comment said it doesn’t look like it has that function.

    Hey guys. I have a 2014 Honda Accord Sedan LX with similar issue. ABS, Brake, Traction Control lights are all on. I've been chasing this down for 3 months. Is it possible the fuse could cause this? I ordered a used pump on EBAY but it was for a 2015. When my mechanic put it in he said it wouldn't talk with the ECU computer. My question is does that matter? I have not noticed any effect on the car with braking or anything else and Id love to get these lights off. When I start the car in the morning the lights go off for 2 hours making me think its getting a bad signal and might be a fuse or bad relay. I would appreciate your thoughts on this. The car can still be driven with these lights, you just wont have the abs capabilities of helping to stop when braking hard. abs prevent your wheels from locking up with breaking. but uou still have regular braking power.
