That won’t work because it gives you your location when you were last off duty always when you get pulled over dot asks for your millage it won’t line up with your eld
They track your phone location , for crimmnal investigations

I do not agree with black smoke matters methods but log books was never for the gov. they was made for the trucking companies to keep up with drivers time. Second fmcsa and dot can not ask for more than the last 7 days of your logs or a certain number of your last out of state commerce trips . Third the eld violates the 4th,5th,6th amendments. And are unconstitutional . The 4th amendment says no gov can search without a warrant this includes personal paper,records and possessions. The eld ,gps side of the eld also violates a supreme court ruling that gps tracking devices are illegal to any citizen in the united states. So with that being said they are organizations that have already filed lawsuit's on these very issue. And I suspect the supreme court will have no choice but to uphold its previous rulings that gps tracking is in fact a violation of our constitutional rights as well that eld violates the 4th,5th,6th amendments! With all that said you are no lawyer you are just merely speaking from the hip and do not have a understanding of the u.s constitution!

FMCSA can audit the carrier and ask for the past 6 months of logs, not just the last 8 days. The carrier can be fined and put out of service if they find log violations even that far back. As for the constitutional aspect of GPS tracking... First, you're not forced to drive a truck, you can get another job if you choose. Second, the mandate doesn't require the ability for real-time tracking in the cloud. There are devices available that are not internet connected. While most devices do offer tracking, it's because that's a feature that most people want, but they're not forced to get it. Either way, the law doesn't require it so it would be hard to make a case against it in a courtroom.

That’s why you need to put switch and disconnect the speed sensor ( not work for automatic transmission).
Then your speed gauge will show zero because computer not receive signal from that sensor. And there will be no extra miles to ask about. When you finish have to switch speed sensor back on but do it at the same location where you switch it off before.
I know about hiden and not visible information that you talking about.
Let me put it this way. Everything made from people could be avoided or go around it but have their own limitations.
If I am wrong there be no hacked computers , banks and there be no antivirus programs. And every successful hacker is successful , because he know what he’s doing and what have to avoid and not to do.
Same is here. You have to know your limitations. The risk to be caught is yours. You can cheet small: 5 miles one direction. (to get to the truck haven for your 10. )
Unlimited miles for Back and forth ( turn OFF and ON on same location ). Oh dont forget to switch off the speed sensor for miles discrepancies. And so on headaches... And this is not all. Is it worth it? Well... if i stuck in traffic and running out of hours, i don’t want to stop for my 10 on highway 5 miles before my exit ...

You forgot the ELD has a GPS and notifies when and where the ELD was disconnected and when and where was reconnected, also how many miles. Please do not be so smart!

I think it really depends on the circumstances how did they find out. If you left a trail of dead bodies behind you (regardless of who is at fault), you just might.

Every body says unplug... Why to unplug when you can put additional cable in between with multi switch. Switch off everything except the 12v and ground... Your office will never know that you are unplugged.

You will need :
KENTEK 6 Feet FT DB15 Monitor Extension Cable Cord Connector 28 AWG Molded Serial RS-232 D-Sub 15 Pin Male to Female M/F for VGA Video Display
( you can find on amazon)
This cable has same 15 pin that ELD use.
The switch:
ITT Schadow - 3-253 - Switch, P/B. 6PDT Push on/Push off
(electronicsurplus ) it is capable to connect 6 wires at once
You have to disconnect the cable and ELD. Then connect your new cable in between original cable and the ELD. ( it is male to female cable)
In the middle of your cable cut the all wires. There are 15 for each 15 pin plus shield and all have different colors .Then use multimeter to find witch of them is 12v and witch is ground. Those two wires have to go and connect directly.
All the rest wires ( 13 of them) you have to find witch of them are useful and just ignore the rest because your switch can manage only 6 wires to connect.
There is several pins cables on the market dependent of the truck. Mine is 9 pin . So i can tell example for 9 pin cable :
Blue & light orange (12v & Ground) go directly.
Yellow, light green, dark green, light purple go trough the switch.
That’s right useful is only 4.
But if this is kind of complicated for you you can just get 2 more switches and connect them all by the color trough the switches except the 12v&ground ( just to be sure and without any additional measurements and worries)
Put all switches in the plastic box (at one side cable in and at the other side cable out and going to the ELD and that’s it.
