@@elProvos Sadly the 5060 is likely to be only a small step up from the 3060ti and still probably 8gb of VRAM. If you want to stick with Nvidia, maybe go with a 12gb 4070 Super assuming they get a price cut after the 50 series launches. Though personally I think the 4070 is still light on VRAM and may end up in the same situation that 3070 is in now. I think the real sweet spot for Nvidia cards will be the 4070ti Super, which is the cheapest card with 16gb of Vram. Daniel did a video on it recently.

DLSS is imo the reason why Turing was always the superior pick over RDNA 1. People swear up and down that the 5700XT wasn't such a bad choice for its time, but the furthest away we are removed from their release, the more Turing is able to hang on with DLSS while RDNA 1 has to wait for FSR 3.1 to get a half-decent upscaling technique (and old games aren't gonna be updated to support it) and it has no RT hardware so it'll get harder and harder to just *play* games if they ship with that feature standard.

Incredible video card. I had been using the RTX 2060 with my i7 8700 16gb ram on Windows 10 since 2018 and was still able to play most games at high to ultra settings with no problems. It was CYBERPUNK 2077 which had me using medium and high settings only until 2023 when more games kept me away from ultra settings like STARFIELD and TOTAL WAR WARHAMMER III. Its a beast of a card and even allowed me to play at 1440p with a mix of ultra and high settings for every game before 2023.
I just upgraded to a RTX 3080 12gb vram and a i9 12900 k with 32gb ram on Windows 11 Home Edition after seeing your video on the possible tariff on China finally occurring after being delayed for years which prompted my brother who is in I.T. to get me the upgrade i had been planning for over a year looking up parts/pricing to build the system and paying for the parts where i will pay him back over the next few months. So now my previous pc is sitting on the side as a emergency back up which i know i can rely on to play my favorite games from 2023 and earlier while looking forward to play upcoming games like SPACE MARINE 2, ZEPHON, THE WANDERING REALMS etc on my new pc.

My previous GPU was a 2060 Super. Slightly faster than a 2060 and more VRAM. It was pretty decent.
The problem was I play pretty much only single-player graphics intensive games, and I use a 1440P ultrawide OLED monitor. So you can see I had to completely rely on DLSS and turning down settings in almost everything.
When the 40-series launched I upgraded to a 4090 (alongside an entire new build to go with it). Now I can actually play my games instead of playing with settings. Screw that crap. Couldn't be more satisfied. :)

Granted my TV was only 1080P and it was a living room so I'm sitting like 8+ feet from it, but it was a good 1080p/60 card if you used DLSS. PreDogtown DLC, I could hit 60fps with all of the non-PT RT settings turned on in CP2077. PT was 1080P/30, which may be too low for some, but if you have a 1080P TV, 30fps PT CP2077 is way better than the 30fps mode on consoles.

Currently running 3060 laptop. Virtually a 2060. Running it to a 4K monitor, was going well until Horizon Forbidden West where 4K is impossible to get enough fps with upsizers. Had to play 1440p and upsizers on top, it looked okay. Okay to play until completion 45fps. But will be delivered 4080 super PC this week. Now I should use my 4K to full extent.
But yes, I am still amazed how much my 3060 laptop can still play. 1080p no probs (maybe need upscalers), but finally starting to get to the stage newest games having difficulty playing and looking reasonable 4K. In that I can still play Cyberpunk 2077 60fps at 4K and it still looks okay. To me, CP 2077 in high settings 1080p looks worse than 4K in close to poor settings.
Yes the vram limitation is the main reason moving towards a 4080 Super desktop. It’s the worst hitting that wall.

It would be a more appropriate 4K card. 4070 Ti S is already a bit too alow for 4K res, unless you are ready to use agressive DLSS. presets.

I went from playing in 24" in 1080p with 970/3070 to 75" in 4K with 4070Ti S and it's incredible. Actually I got the GPU upgrade just because 3070 couldn't handle 4K so I used it only for 6 months. Currently I am playing Alan Wake 2 at max settings with path tracing and it looks and feels pretty good with DLSS P and FG. And since games like these require even 4090 to use aggressive upscaling, it doesn't really matter. If you wanna wait for the new generation, only the 5090 will offer you a big improvement in 4K because some games at the moment make 4090 a 1080p card.

Nice to see a video on the 2060, it's in a kind of limbo at the moment....not old enough for some content and not new/relevant enough for a lot of the rest. I remember building my son's pc in 2021 and bidding £400 ($480ish) on ebay for a used 2060, getting outbid by £20 and thinking things were just effing ridiculous. I don't think it's just that all modern games are bad and badly optimized, it's that we've seen it all before and they aren't doing anything new.

We don't know for sure if the 5060 will have 12 gb of VRAM at start, it only has a 128 bit bus, so 8 is more likely. But GDDR 7 could could have 3 GB modules, thus we may see 12 gb VRAM on a later version of 5060.
However!!! I want to point out that, if you keep your current motherboard, you might have PCIE 3.0, which WILL bottleneck cards with GDDR 7 up to a point simply due to the speed limit coupled with the narrow buswidth.
RDNA 4 will still use GDDR 6, N44 will have a 256 bit bus with 16 gb of VRAM, but that is a 1440p card of I ever saw one.
If you pair it with a 5700 X3D / 5800 X3D it will be ok.

I feel we need to see at least 40-50% fps performance boost in the RTX50-series gpus over the current 40-series.
Saying that to be adequate for the largest game compatibility we need in next Gen GPUs’ and to cater for Frame Generation and Ray Tracing:
    - 12GB on a 60-class GPU (at minimum RTX 4070/70-Super performance)
    - 16gb on a 70-class GPU (at minimum RTX 4080/80-Super performance)
    - 20GB on a 80-class GPU (at minimum RTX 4090Ti (RTX 4090+25% performance)
    - 24GB on a 90-class / Titan GPU (at minimum RTX 4090+60% performance)
