Leatherface is the prequel to Tobe Hooper's Texas Chainsaw Massacre that focuses on the events that birthed the titular character. Five people on the run from a mental hospital breakout are on a road trip from hell, leaving behind a trail of blood and tears. One of the five will endure the brutal transformation into the chainsaw-wielding maniac...but who will it be? And will this movie actually deliver an answer to that question that is worth sticking around for?

The cutie who played Betty, the girl who follows the boy and is crushed, was Lorina Kamburova. A Bulgarian actress who died of Covid 19 in May of 2021. She was hospitalized in Moscow and was awaiting a double lung transplant in Vienna. But she died of double pneumonia before she could get one. Rest in peace sweet girl.
She vaxxed?
@@Morbidhouse I couldn't say.
stupid character development from leatherface's point. How he goes from being the logically sensible one trying to protect the girl and then as soon as that bullet went through his cheek his personality all of a sudden changes and it's as if he doesn't even know who she is and ends up killing her, and to make it worse uses her face at the end. I think that was an extremely stupid part of the movie, his character personality change for no apparent reason.
IceCold Yeah, it was beyond cheap. None of the other characters resembled the original actors from the original At fucking All. The birthday scene should have never happened.
Well I guess we still have the original and remake to go back and watch.
THIS ! im glad i wasnt the only one. It was pretty stupid to make him act like a normal person and protect the girl at first. They shouldnt of gave him lines at all. Why wasnt the fat kid the one to be leatherface?
Exactly what I thought, maybe cause he blames buds death on her?
Enqoy it was her fault tho
Ramirez never said it wasn’t
I'll be honest I actually did enjoy this film
Yea me too..
Its not a boring film, is a fun watch. It just doesnt make any sense when in comes to TCM but I actually enjoyed it too
Squidward has a sad origin too
His father never hugged him
Meh, it felt barely connected to the franchise, to the point where the TCM aspects felt forced into a different movie.
The only thing I liked were the actors playing the younger family members.
+DarthRushy That's kind of what I liked about it though. It made it feel fresh and not so redundant like most of the franchise
Cody Leach That is a fair point and I rather liked the first half. I just wish that the actual story involving Leatherface was better done(his transformation is almost random and really convoluted).
Plus, on a more personal level, Drayton is my favourite Sawyer and I'm kinda pissed off he is relegated to a cameo again after TC3D. I think at this point, we could do with an imaginative film that actually focused a little on the original family. I miss all the evil capitalism undertones that Hooper's films had that gave them way more substance and backstory than any of this.
+DarthRushy Yeah that's what I meant by the transformation being rushed. They could have done with 15 more minutes in that part of the story.
yea I agree, really just liked seeing younger versions of the family. especially the granddad.
+DarthRushy yeah I agree, there was actually a couple times I had to remind myself that this was a leatherface movie because it was very different. when it first showed clarice in the bathroom I kind of thought it looked like Sally from the original
I really did enjoy this movie, it's not nearly as good as the original or the remake and the remake prequel, but I really enjoyed it overall!
This movie was great until the twist at the end. It would’ve been a 4/5 Stars but it ended up being a 2/5 Stars. The main problem is how Jackson gains 200 pounds and grows 6 inches to become the true Leatherface.
Yeah I agree! That simply isn't belivable at all that he gains to 200 pounds and grows 6 inches taller to become Leatherface, I thought the fat kid at first was the one to become Leatherface, it should've been the fat kid, since the fat kid didn't speak and was mentally insane, plus it would've made a lot of sense since Leatherface in all the other movies including the original he is chubby, so it would make sense for the fat kid to have grown up to become Leatherface and gain more pounds and grow 6 inches taller.
it was trash
Not only that but he lost the ability to speak. Leatherface just yells and squeals but the boy that played him in this movie was normal acting
the fat kid wasn't tall either, and the kid easily gain weight from his diet. Look at some strongmen they used to be skinny, but changed their diet and became huge
@@billsimms2511 Re: the fact he stops talking, I *think* it's because he was shot in the cheek and then Verna sewed him up with sewing thread. I am thinking his tongue/jaw/teeth were badly damaged and then made worse by the stitching so that's why he quit speaking.
I really like this one at first I thought Jed was the big guy I was surprised that he was the nice guy. The first remake was really scary when I was little
As a die hard Texas Chainsaw Massacre fanatic, the part when Bud died, I said fuck this shit. I could not comprehend how they could negate the years of history of that iconic character.
Leatherface has always been fat and mentally challenged. When Jackson was Leatherface, chasing the nurse through the woods, he looked like an asshole that was trying to cosplay as a bad Leatherface. That little man is not going to all of a sudden grow to 6’5” and weigh 350lbs. Come on, Bud would’ve been absolutely perfect as Leatherface, but no... honestly, I wish that I had never watched that crap.
If someone says that they loved this film, they clearly have never seen any of the films.
Cody leach one of the best movie reviewers out there!
agreed
The heroic person is Leatherface obviously, because the tragic hero shits been done to death.
+Super Guy 5000 You may or may not be 10000% correct
You’re right lol
Super Guy 2000 you right
Doctor Spectre 9781 yuuuuuuppppp
But leatherface is not is not the damn hero god he is the fucking killer😠
It was obvious who Leatherface was. I knew the moment they flashed the cam on him earlier in the movie.
I thought I was the bigger boy , the slow one , I didn't think they'd try and subvert it like that , I was surprised lol
The movie makes no sense at all to me at least
+Tristan Trujillo lol I hear ya. It's definitely got some spotty writing here and there
Try watching The Next Generation. You'll be totally lost if you watch that.
I thinks that to torture if I watch that movie
what i believe is that the "calm guy' was a lil bit deranged since the beginning but not to an extent of other deranged characters but later on in the movie because of lack of the medications which he was taking in mental asylum his only support system bud getting killed his brain was totally fried he lost his control over him and in last though his mind got messed up and he became a monster a part of him still remembers that the good hearted nurse was close to him so he out ofthat lil love sentiment he wears her skin/face on him .... thats what i conclude
but what i want to know is how the girl who was having sex and killed people in diner came to know about the murder of daughter of cop when she meets him
the movie makes complete sense, you just might not be that bright.
I don't understand of why bud wasn't leatherface as he looks more look like learherface

Good review video. Clear, concise, to the point and most importantly no constant lame attempts at humor and negativity for the sake of negativity. Oh, and nice background. I'm subscribed
+VITAL HORROR Awesome! Welcome aboard
This movie would have been one of the best in the franchise if Bud ended up being leatherface.
I disagree. It was a twist I really liked
So glad I'm not the only one who really enjoyed this movie. Most reviews for this film are either negative to down right hate or at the vert best lukewarm. I had a blast with this film and agree with you and your point that if people are saying this is the worst Texas chainsaw movie out there then they probably have not seen the other's. Really enjoyed your review.
+Jin's reviews from the grave Thank you! Yeah I can understand if someone doesn't like it but anyone saying this is the worst one is out of their minds.
i loved it :)

It was a great concept for a new movie but it's just not the character leatherface
hi Cody just bought this on Blu-ray for $7.50 and me and my wife watched it last night and had to say I was completely surprised how good it was I absolutely love the Insane Asylum Breakout scene and this how gruesome everything was thanks for the review dude see you later
One thing this movie does really well is ruining the leatherface charactor.
Most Texas Chainsaw films pull that off amazingly well
trippleknowswhatsup this was an unneeded “origin story”
it didn't ruin shit, and to say it ruins leatherface more than next generation is ridiculous.
Character, not charactor.
@@Danimal77 dude stop commenting on everyone's typos you grammar nazi
The hopeful one was leatherface. It’s always a plot twist when the good / Moral character gives up those morals.
I actually didn't even realize I was supposed to guess who Leatherface was.
Me neither lol I assumed it was the bigger boy
The last 20 mins took a complete 180 with jackson/Jed Jesus his character completely changed
The Texas Chainsaw Massacre has always been one of my favorite slashers. Can't wait to watch this one
+Devon Pilgrim Hopefully you enjoy it
Hope so. These movies haven't had too good of a time with their installments and I had no faith in this movie once I heard about all of the production troubles, but some of that faith has been restored with your review.
+Devon Pilgrim Yeah it seems pretty divisive like some of the recent installments but I enjoyed it
Rory Madden agreed.
It sucks . U been warned lol
The opening 10 seconds alone is nothing but facts.
What i love about this situation is Texas Chainsaw 3d gets a big release an nearly everyone hates it.Then this movie gets a limited release an gets mostly positive reactions.
+BoomStick Critique lol Gotta love how that works
This version of leatherface is the least scary. Not only is he skinny asf he looks like he can't run a few yards without getting winded.
The mystery was so not a mystery that I thought we were supposed to know. I knew the entire time he was on the screen and didn’t even know I wasn’t supposed to know
I enjoyed this movie had a very authentic feel. I was in fact caught off guard who Leather face was. Entire movie had an element of surprise, clarity, and detail show much show that I didn’t even catch every Easter egg. Definitely a movie worth watching I definitely will also watch it again thanks for the video Cody.
This movie gets too much hate in my opinion.

I think that it kind of makes sense that Jackson ends up being Leatherface. Obviously it was rushed, but think about it. He just went through a ton of trauma (Kidnapped from the asylum, Bud dying at the hands of a police officer, and getting permanently disfigured) and it only makes sense that he'd be overcome with anger and lose his mind. His mother was the only one to offer him liberation by killing one of the cops who put him through suffering. That's why he killed Lizzy when Lizzy called his mom crazy. She was the only one who gave him some relief from his pain. I believe that through most of the movie up until he's taken back to the sawyer farm and remembers who he was, he had been essentially detoxed from his terrible family. He was forced to forget about them, which made him into a better person. I hope this made sense and thank you for reading this
Just finished watching the movie and i loved it so i came straight to RUclips to see the reviews im surprised peoe said the movie was trash i like it 😂😂🔥🔥 nice review man 🔥🔥
I'm pretty surprised that you weren't excited for this movie given the fact that the directors made the fantastic French horror movie "Inside" which is currently being remade for the American audiences. Check out the "original" Inside, you'll love it! Based on your review, I'm pretty sure I'm going to love Leatherface, it's just too bad that it wasn't a major theatrical release. I wonder if future installments in the franchise will all be direct to DVD like the Chucky movies? Nonetheless, great review, Cody!
+Yuzuru Nomura Thanks man. I haven't heard of that movie I'll have to check it out.
I actually finished watching it about a half an hour ago, and seeing how I usually like to go into the movies blind (not even reading the official synopsys) I was actually surprised by the twist. It kinda took me off guard.
*SPOILERS*
The moment Bud died I was like "Wait, did he just take a bullet to the fucking head? Will he just shrugg it off or something?" and the moment Jackson started shouting at the nurse inside the car I saw what they were going for and sure enough, once the bullet went straight though his head, I was...surprised. I also want to add to how I think that it would've been more apropriate if they made Bud the killer, but hey, the twist was done well enough, so I shouldn't be too hard on it.
+Max the Scarecrow Yeah it was clear misdirection to me so I had it pretty well pegged. Still enjoyed it though.
Cody Leach I am glad you did, and I agree that it beats half of the franchise by a clear mile. I also really enjoyed the video.
+Max the Scarecrow Glad you enjoyed it!
Out of all the horror and especially the big Texas Chainsaw Massacre fans, this is the only review so far I come across that positively enjoyed it.
leatherface is turning into the curious case of thomas hewitt!!! they just keep going backwards with his character. texas chainsaw the beginning and now leatherface. i expect we will get leatherface the origin of his sperm next.
+Haddonfield News hahaha Yeah we're not far off from that
This movie has nothing to do with the Hewitt family. Texas Chainsaw(3-D) & Leatherface are both about the original Sawyer clan.
FreddyKurganNimmo
I was gonna say the same thing lol
I really don't feel like leatherface is a franchise that needs a lot of installments. the story is actually pretty simple. now, I guess Jason didn't need a lot of installments but I thought they handled it pretty well
@@alyssamayle6328 The origin of Jason wad dealt with in the original movie. We never got a prequel to Friday the 13th.
You lucky dawg I have to wait until October 20th to see this. I've been hyped for a long time to see this so I'm glad you said it was good.
+Jonathan Haydon Yeah I enjoyed it man
Cody Leach Are you gonna see Jigsaw when it comes out? Me personally I'm 50/50 on that. I wasn't a big fan of the SAW franchise I really only cared for the first 3 movies.
+Jonathan Haydon I'm not a fan of the Saw franchise but I'll definitely be seeing it

that bear trap pissed me off. :(
Congrats on 2k btw
+WitzyTube Yeah it was a little convenient. Thank you!
I thought maybe it was a throwback to The Beginning? That movie had bear traps set up in the Movie, but that was around the house... this was a random spot in the woods... Pretty bad
i think when it comes to reviewing horror movies you have 2 types, people who review it as a movie and people who are super fans of horror. and either 1 is ok, there will def be a diff of opinion, there are people saying it horrible, there are people saying its the best, it all depends on what your quality of movie is, for example, i think we agree on cult of chucky in how is was just all around bad, but there are so many reviews calling it the best child's play movie in the franchise., but we def disagree here, in the first 10 min of Leatherface that put every Horror movie cliche they could think of, lol i mean, come one man, really, i mean, they didnt even try to do anything new, they same shit over and over and over, noone in this movie even pretended to have common sense
Lol I admit I didnt guess Leatherface, but I didn't know it was " who was Leatherface" type of movie, I just assumed it was the big kid,and the film was explaining how he became Leatherface, didn't expect a twist lol.
I personally really loved Verna & Jed their character!
I'm so glad I saw this review. I forgot all about the movie until now. I'll be watching it tonight. Thanks.
+GuILty718 Hope you enjoy it
I understand how some people thought that Bud was gonna be leather face but...the cover of the movie is a skinny guy..haha that’s what gave it away to me
Just discovered your channel. I like the different background images you use for each review. I can tell you're putting in an effort towards production quality with the audio and lighting too. It's good.
You have a cool way if describing things 👍 And I agree that prequel movies really need to put more effort in making it FEEL like the era they're aiming for. This is also how I felt in the new IT movie. I felt that the miniseries for IT did a better job at going back in time
+Alex N. Yeah it's a pet peeve of mine especially when you love the Era they are trying to recreate.
I like the prequel story this one.
It’s different.
This and Texas Chainsaw 3D they aren’t bad to me just really different.
I've been waiting for this movie ever sense I seen the trailer! Can't wait to see it sounds awesome love the franchise👍 awesome review I hope it comes to blueray?
+Tom Cabler It will before long. I hope you enjoy it
Tchort Six Six Six really? Because I heard others say give this a shot!
Dude if u like Texas chainsaw don't watch this...
watch these too inside (french), livid, among the living
Tom Cabler sense? really?
Great review, i like it more than some installments of the series, i could gl as far to say that's one of my favourite movies released last year based on our famous killers! My only problem is that the story hardly feels believeable! I get the fact that in 10 years you and your life can change drastically, but something doesn't connect like Leatherface doing these things! I get that we don't see his mouth in the original so we can't tell if he really has a line on his mouth, ok in the original everything seems normal, even for Leatherface and people can have dark pasts but something doesn't really makes sense for me for some reason! Btw, are you going to review Ed Gein The Butcher Of Plainfield 2007?? Heard Kane Hodder is playing Ed buy it's more like a typical slasher than a Ed Gein story if you get what i mean! I prepare to watch it soon!
You make me want to see this movie even more. Great review.
Awesome. Hope you like it
yeah i know when i think of leatherface i think of a small, likeable, fairly well spoken, kid that just wants to do the right thing.... making the only likable character leatherface was a mistake in my opinion, leatherface is a giant man with the mind of a child that is manipulated by his family, now who does that sound like in this movie ah yes the biggest red herring, but u are right this is definitely not the worst TCM movie, love the channel keep up the great work
Loving your reviews man. I'm subscribed!
Thanks a lot man
This actually is a good movie. Slow pace but like done kinda well. I didn't know who was going to be Leatherface though. Very good
Hey man. I really liked your explanation and just about everything in your video. I subbed so keep it up dude you rock
Thank you! Glad you enjoyed it.
Unrelated comment: You simply have to see mother! Masterpiece! 10/10 from Goat at Ruthless Reviews.
+Ruthless Goat I've heard extremely opposing views on that one
This movie is fine in it's own right but as a TCSM movie it really fails. It's like the makers have never really seen or paid attention to the original but instead just thought they had a cool idea about a twist on guessing who would be Leatherface (even though that twist was ruined years ago when they revealed who they had cast as Leatherface) The whole film just exists for that twist. None of the new cast look or act like the characters from the first movie they are supposed to be playing. I admire their attempts with this and 3D to do something different rather than rehash the story of the first movie as most films in the series have but it still falls flat. It was a lot better than the laughable 3D movie a few years ago at least.
I understand your complaints. I really expected to hate this movie but for whatever reason it worked for me.
I really like this one. I don’t care what anybody says, I think it’s a seriously enjoyable addition to the Texas Chainsaw Massacre franchise.
1974, TCM2, TCM3, 2003, 3D, Beginning, Next Generation & LF would be my order.
First is a masterpiece, second is a fun spoof, third is a nice attempt at bringing it up to date as a 90s horror, 2003 had so many flaws but as far as remakes one of the better ones, 3D did some cool things with tying it to the first one, but ultimately was a train wreck, The Beginning had nice cinematography but annoying characters, didn't feel like a period piece and too much explanations.
Next Generation is terrible and it has so much potential by giving Kim Henkel the directing job but it is just all over the place, it isn't scary, it isn't funny and it mocked Leatherface and lastly Leatherface 2017, sorry but that kid is not Leatherface at all, there is no way he was this strapping young lad.. the whole movie didn't work for me, especailly for the fact they live in this really grimey house full of mummified flesh and bones and trying to live a regular life in there and all the cops know about them and their house and it got rid of that isolated cannibal house they had in the original and now everyone knows about them and the other Sawyer family like Drayton and Nubbins were like planks of wood, their characters were gutted.
Subscribed. First time seeing you. Great review! Thank you for your time!
Thank you!
gotta say, I really agree with you, love your reviews man, keep it up.
+Dylan mini reviews Thanks man glad you enjoy them
Great review! I can't wait to see Leatherface. Will it be released on DVD anytime? I haven't heard anything official.
+Eric Moss Yeah I'd imagine it'll be out in a few weeka. VOD movies tend to drop quick
Is this movie available on any streaming services ? Id really like to watch it
Its available on DirectTV
This movie was terrible. Couldn't get through the first 15 minutes. When I saw the chubby kid bashing the doctors head into the GLASS window and nothing happened until the last hit I had to stop it. I'll stick with the remake with Jessica Biel.
Brooooo I totally wasn’t expecting her to be him!
I just finished watching this a few minutes ago, boy was I disappointed. This did not feel like a TCM movie at all. They tried to trick you into thinking jed was leatherface but it failed because it didn't make sense. It's bloody and gory but it's the kind of movie you see and forget everything about it within a couple of days. I had high hopes for this movie but in my opinion it was a huge letdown.
I am a pig eyed traitor That is in love with Putin they made you think BUD was leatherface. Size and personality
Your review definitely makes me want to go watch it, but I have never been a huge fan of the Texas Chainsaw Massacre franchise or of the character of Leatherface for that matter. The only film in the franchise that I have truly enjoyed is the 2003 film. As far as favorite horror movie villains go, Leatherface is probably last on my list, my top three are Jason Voorhees, Freddy Krueger and Chucky, in that order. Awesome job on the review and on all of your videos, I really enjoy them. Keep up the excellent work!
Nice review! Now where would Leatherface stand in your ranking of the series?
Well Im gonna do a ranking video as soon as I review the rest of the franchise but I will tell you its in the middle.
They gave it away with his bday present at the begining
jsmc84 they changed his name
Beginning*
I reason I wanted to see this is, is it's done by the directors of my 2nd favorite horror film Inside.
This movie had it good moments but the turn and red herring you could call the beginning, especially due to the trailers. The acting was fine, the story was OK, but the turn/reveal was terrible and lacked any real motivation. This is not the worst of the TCM franchise that has to be the previous installment Texas Chansaw 3D in my opinion.
I just saw this all these years later, and like Cody, I was surprised at how good it was. I had avoided it because people had been saying the pre-Leatherface character was not believable. But actually the journey made a lot of sense, and had a lot to say about the American "caste" system. Society's expectations about how someone will turn out can really shape their destiny.
I love the first 3 movies, it'd be nice to add a 4th good one to that story.
Watching it for the 1st time! Somehow, have some big espectations for it!
If I had to pick, I would choose the quite one to become leatherface in the end, the one everyone is rooting for.
+Charlie M Winston Good guess!
i actually just finished watching this for the first time 30 minutes ago (was very hesitant) but i think its actually one of the best of the franchise. I had to pause not even 10 seconds in just so i could comment on the fact that every review i watched after it completely bashed the movie for one reason, ok 2 lol "leatherface is barely even there" and"its a pg devils rejects rip off"
Just have to say thank you for what you said because it is clear they havent watched the whole franchise yet
the only Texas chainsaw movie I didn't like out of all 6 of them (originals 1-3, the next generation, remakes 2003 and beginning, and Texas chainsaw) was The Texas chainsaw massacre 2 1986. the other 6 I LOVED! soooo, this one is a prequel to the 1974 original ? and Texas chainsaw 2013 is the third part in their little trilogy ? I love the Texas chainsaw movies! First time here, really great review Cody Leach :) can't wait to see this and chucky!
It is a prequel to the original an partially Chainsaw 3d.But there are some parts of the film that contradict stuff from that movie. The movie only really focuses on being a prequel to the original
+Chaos Is Coming Yeah TCM 2 is very love or hate. Thanks for watching I'm glad you enjoyed it!
you got to be pretty damn sick to love these movies they're disgusting
Anthony Sonido the texas chainsaw movies have a big fan base, and I love horror movies :/ millions of people i'm sure do..
Chaos Is Coming I yy
Yes the nurse kept making the dumbest decisions. I wanted to root for her but she was such an idiot I stopped.
I was excited for the movie but I was very disappointed! Generic Rogue Cop who kills for no reason (We know that the Sawyers killed his little girl so why is this girl taking the brute of his Anger?) Leatherface does a complete 180° to become Leatherface (also why does he immediately believe everything his mom Says? He's seen her for 5 Minutes and suddenly he's killing for her honor) Characters do what the script needs them to do even if it doesn't fit what there character has done so far. I'd give this Movie a 4/10 it's a below Average Horror Movie... I didn't think it was that Gory other than the first Chainsaw Kill from Leatherface
+Rad MovieGuy I hear ya and you're criticisms aren't wrong. I think my expectations were so low I ended up enjoying it for the most part.
I think by the end we were just supposed to see it as Leatherface had been broken an he diddnt care any more about doing the right thing. So I dont think it was so much his mother simply that he diddnt care .
BoomStick Critique But at the end he kills Lizzy bc she said that stuff about his mom... Maybe they cut out something but I just don't buy that you're ready to kill for someone that you don't know very well and you have Alot of Trust issues already
In the first draft of the script which I read he kills the cop but the girl gets away. Then later when shes at work Leatherface shows up wearing the cops face an kills her so he can keep her with him.

Great review. I'm still on the fence about seeing this movie but if anything I will just wait until it's out on dvd.
+HarleyQuinn 1995 I think it comes out early December keep an eye out
Cody Leach Thank you. Will do :)
@CodyLeach First, love your reviews, bro. Always on point. BUT, I know I'm 5yrs late to the party, but I still gotta address this one. I honestly don't see how anyone could say the twist was even close to being obvious. When Bud got killed, I was like 'wtf?!?' Let's look at the Leatherface checklist: Bud was 1. Huge 2. Mentally challenged 3. Didn't speak 4. Got picked on endlessly for being the 'oddball' of the town 5. Grew more and more vicious and violent (including a friggin curb stomp) as the movie went along including walking straight into gunfire unphased and lastly, 6. Looked EXACTLY how you would think Leatherface would look earlier in life down to the hair 'style'. Jackson on the other hand? 1. Looked nothing like Leatherface 2. Acted nothing like Leatherface 3. Wasn't born physically/mentally challenged as Leatherface has been portrayed since the original (He was just portrayed as a bad kid with ADHD or some 💩). It looks like they switched to Jackson at the last minute JUST so there could be a twist. Just curious to how one comes to the conclusion Jackson was Leatherface from the get go. Personally, I would've rather them kept Bud as Leatherface as it makes so much more sense imo.
Edit: Stephen Dorff was badass btw and had PLENTY of motivation for taking out the psycho Sawyer family. As a parent, what more motivation do you need? 🤣
there is a part Jed says "police man that broke my nose" ? when did this happen in the story? he is talking about Dorf. Also curious why Nubbins didn't get taken by dorf and put in the mental hospital too??
+Metaluna Zombie I think hes referring to something that happened before the movie catches up 10 yrs later. Yeah I was curious about that too actually
I just watched and bought it, good review. Thanks.
Awesome video Cody, really enjoyed it brah.
Thanks a lot!
For folks who say Jed being leatherface felt rushed. You don't need extra 15 mins for Jed to go insane and become the unhinged killer we know. Read between the lines.
SPOILER ALERT: In the beginning we're introduced to a young jed being forced against his will to kill a man in the most brutal way ever. That should let you know he was put up to that more than once. The other scene with the cows head shows how he was used as bait to lure people to their deaths. In the asylum it was implied that he had some sort of mental disorder and medication keeps him sane. When he witnesses the death of the big guy(sorry can't remember his name) he lost all ryhm or reason. He literally saw a human being that had the mind of a child killed. Lets not forget he was his only friend and protector all those years. Add to the fact he had his face blown off and was literally about to be tortured. When he got the chain saw back he had a moment of clarity that maybe he was meant to be what his mother meant for him to be. Once he dug the chainsaw in the sheriffs gut their was no turning back. Long story short he was in the process of going insane for quite a while.
The fact he was medicated is a good point, Clarice said she didn’t take the drugs, so I’m assuming Ike didn’t either, which is why they are the most outwardly psychopathic… Ike even says to Jackson his penis might not work because of all the drugs they had him on
Lefty Enright from TCM2 is one of my all time favorites movie characters. Dennis Hopper was great. That movie is just fun as hell.
Very glad, that I wasn't the only one that was extremely surprised with this movie.
+Plush Guy Nope you're not alone man
You Cody Leach sir, are a tricky tricky man well played sir.
+Big Eric lol what do you mean?
I don't actually want to say in comments and spoil the movie for anyone. you kind of did a misdirection in this video that caught me off guard when i watched the movie.
what I think is bad in the movie is the way leatherface went crazy when bud died, but he was good and kind, so this massive change is a bit too much.
The guy that plays Jackson is British, he used to be in a soap opera over here in the UK called Eastenders. Good actor, he quit the soap to make it in Hollywood. Not a bad debut for him to be fair.
+Big Dog Lintern very interesting. He was good.
Just watch and was hoping the big guy would show up and be the real leather face. Liked the movie up till the end
I really liked it, Gore amped up. Overall story was good as well.
should've given him a scarier mask
This was a watchable flick, but I expected more from the directors of "Inside" and "Livid."
I haven't seen this film, but let me guess who's Leatherface. Ummm, ummm, ummm.....IT'S THE SYMPATHETIC ONE!! (Drum roll..tschhh!}
Out of all the big horror icons, (Freddy, Jason, Leatherface, Chucky, Michael Myers, Pinhead) The Texas Chainsaw Massacre franchise easily has the most bad movies in its collection. The only ones you could really say that are worth watching are the original and the 2003 remake. The second one is only worth watching in a "so bad, it's good" way. It's actually pretty damn funny, even though that's not the route a movie called The Texas Chainsaw Massacre should go.
Another thing that doesn't quite connect this movie to the original is Leatherface himself. In the original he's somewhat mentally challenged and kind of scared of his relatives at times. That isn't the case in this movie. If anything, this Leatherface seems more like the one in the remake, to be honest
I thought leatherface was the heavy set mute guy at first.
People complain about the look of leatherface but you have to think about it. People go through body changes as they grow
+HEYDuDE607 I agree
I was starting to think I and another person from Killer Flicks was the only ones that enjoyed the film since tons of people think it's terrible or the worst in the franchise which is insane to me but good to know you enjoyed it as well man.
In no way shape or form is this any were close to being the worst Chainsaw.
+Locarbmonster Yeah man it seems like this one is not too loved on KF. I enjoyed it!
+BoomStick Critique Hell no not even in the ballpark
I agree Critique. Ain't no way in Hell its worst then Next Generation. Yeah Cody, I'm glad you actually enjoyed like I did
@@boomstickcritique902 anywhere, not any were.
What’s the music at the beginning of your videos
I would had likedmore of the sawyers vs the inmates trekking across TX.
I liked how it was shot, but it felt more like a devils rejects prequel... the lack of chainsaw was upsetting... Lionsgate has the rights to make up to 7 TCM films so 2 down, 5 sequel/ remakes to come
Cody just curious are you going to watch the new chucky movie it's called the cult of chucky some people said it's alot better than the previous ones?
+Ethan Holgate I've seen it and have a review that I'll drop when the movie officially releases. I completely disagree with those people though.
Cody Leach ok cool
I watched it last night with my fiancé. I enjoyed it as a Chucky fam and it did well as a sequel to the last film. I want more and another film to see where they take it and how they plan on wrapping up that storyline. I def enjoyed the Easter eggs too.
