The thing I enjoy about your rankings is you give a descriptive response and actually explain why things are where they are rather than being biased like a lot of channels.
Leatherface has always been probably the most interesting of the classic slashers to me. Micheal Myers, as creepy as he is, is just kind of a one note hell demon or something (I have no idea what Loomis was on about), Jason Voorhees is fine and scary enough but I’m not all too interested in him and Freddy Krueger to me is just the same, the most interesting thing about him is that he talks… but he never shuts up. Leatherface is the most interesting to me because he may be the most memorable character from these films and the only character to appear in every film (one of the only three characters who appears in more than one film anyway) but he’s never the main villain. He’s always under someone else’s control. As scary as he is, his problem is that he doesn’t have complex thoughts or wants or desires of his own. He’s always under the orders of his family. He’s severely mentally impaired to the point when he just doesn’t comprehend what he does. He’s also the most human of any of the classic villains. All the others are in some way mythologised to be supernatural, but Leatherface, he’s just a guy. One sick, kind of pitiable guy. I don’t even really blame him, I just think he should be left in a mental home. He’s not even malicious, it’s just his occupation. I like Gunnar Hansen the best because of his mannerisms which present something almost industrial about what he does. When he smashes that hammer, there’s weight to it. He grunts, he stumbles. I just love his physicality. He just does what he does because in his mind he’s protecting his home. He’s also the only villain from classic slasher films to be inspired by a real person
That’s why the new Texas Chainsaw movie sucked, because Leatherface became a one note character like Michael Myers. “Leatherface kill, fans like that🥴”

Texas chainsaw massacre 3 5. Texas chainsaw 3D 4. Original 3. 2003 remake 2. Texas chainsaw massacre (2022) 1. The beginning (scariest portrayal)
Biggest flaw for me in TCM 2022 is he wasn’t even a cannibal in this movie. The next attempt at this movie needs that cannibal tribe, that’s what’s really scary. They all wanna consume you and wear your face
The leather face in the 2003 remake and the Texas chainsaw massacre the Beginning is chip from Batman Returns, the one that played Christopher walken’s son.
Character wise I suppose the remake is better. But the ominous side about the original and 2022 version , the unpredictability, makes that version my favorite. But really close 2nd is the remake. Love both.
My favorite is definitely the one from The Beginning and the 2003 remake (technically it’s the same character). Love the masks in both movies and the guy is huge and intimidating, but also pretty damn fast for his size. The part where he makes his first “mask” in The Beginning is so damn gross haha, and I agree that it’s my favorite mask. And personally I love the sheer brutality of that movie, I guess because the weapon is a chainsaw I like that blood is just going all over the place while he’s killing people in that movie.
The 2003 remake Andrew Bryniarski weight was 320 and he had a fat suit on that felt and looked 100 lb. He was 420 in that film and he is 6'5. I love the 2003 Leatherface
I still don't understand how you think Leatherface is played as a smart antagonist in the new one. Can you please tell which scenes that showcase this?
He snuck up on at least 2 other people in the original film. And with regards to this new one, it's been 40+ years. Him setting his chainsaw on the ground then coming at her from the side is not really a stretch for me. I mean, he was a man child in the original film, but after 40 something years, to show him being a little bit more of a skilled killer seemed completely plausible to me.
He stalked Sally and Franklin in the woods in 1974. He gets the drop on them and kills Franklin. He jumps out and smacks the dude in the head with the hammer when he walks into the house
My ranking is 9. Next Generation Leatherface 8. 2017 Leatherface 7. New Beginning Leatherface 6. Part 3 Leatherface 5. Part 2 Leatherface 4. 3D Leatherface 3. 2022 Leatherface 2. Remake Leatherface 1. OG Leatherface
I probably will go with this ranking, I liked the versions of Leatherface in 3D and 2022. Also both the Next Generation and 2017 are easily my least favorite due to obvious reasons.
LF from the OG and Part 2 are the tops for me. The both played on a mentally challenged person born into a family of lunatics. I don't think either of them wanted to be the chainsaw carrying stalwart that the family forced him to be. Most all other iterations of LF played him to be this supernatural, chainsaw wielding psycho which is as far removed from the characters original identity as can be. He was never meant to be a Jason or Michael Meyers.
Cody, I need you to review these face masks for each one. Like this newer one is really bad to me. The one with the lipstick was the second worse for me. I have no idea what they were doing with that idea.
Finally, a reasonable list. A list that's clearly explained why they are where they are. 10/10
It’s crazy how I agree 100% with the 2001 version, every other review on RUclips shits on that movie, clearly the best won
New one (2022)- this leatherface would have Michael myers, Jason vorhees and Victor from HATCHET running away!!! Absolutely brutal!!!!! Wow!!

Gunner Hanson is my favourite but I also love the version we got in both the 2003 remake and the prequel to the remake
"Finkle & Einhorn, Einhorn & Finkle, Finkle is Einhorn, Einhorn is Finkle, Einhorn is a man. Oh my God, Einhorn is a man!"
That’s a BADASS shirt Cody!
I thought we wernt allowed to laugh at this ending now?!
Loving that Ace Ventura shirt. Lol
Love the Ace Ventura shirt!
Cody when are you going to continue your director review series of Wes Craven?
Is your "Finkle is Einhorn" shirt a tribute to Leatherface in Next Generation?
Wasn't meant to be but I'll take credit for it
I'd say the remake/the beginning leatherface are the best.
Dude I love the Ace Ventura shirt lol
Here is also my ranking the leatherfaces from least scary (9) to most scary (1)
9. Next generation (least scary portrayal)
8. Texas chainsaw massacre 2
7. Leatherface (2017)
6. Texas chainsaw massacre 3
5. Texas chainsaw 3D
4. Original
3. 2003 remake
2. Texas chainsaw massacre (2022)
1. The beginning (scariest portrayal)
Cody’s intro goes hard af
I like the Leatherface List transition. Very creative!
Realised this comment might sound sarcastic. Rest assured I really mean it.
Biggest flaw for me in TCM 2022 is he wasn’t even a cannibal in this movie. The next attempt at this movie needs that cannibal tribe, that’s what’s really scary. They all wanna consume you and wear your face
100% agree. The remake is definitely my fav as well!
Are you going to check out the game when it comes out? I remember you saying you liked the Friday the 13th game so this should be right up your alley.
The leather face in the 2003 remake and the Texas chainsaw massacre the Beginning is chip from Batman Returns, the one that played Christopher walken’s son.
Somehow I didn't see the Texas chainsaw 3d will have to check it out👍
This is awesome! I think I agree 100% on everything you said!
Character wise I suppose the remake is better. But the ominous side about the original and 2022 version , the unpredictability, makes that version my favorite. But really close 2nd is the remake. Love both.
Imo from worst to best

Sir did u forgot about the hills have eyes 2 2007 review???
My favorite is definitely the one from The Beginning and the 2003 remake (technically it’s the same character). Love the masks in both movies and the guy is huge and intimidating, but also pretty damn fast for his size. The part where he makes his first “mask” in The Beginning is so damn gross haha, and I agree that it’s my favorite mask. And personally I love the sheer brutality of that movie, I guess because the weapon is a chainsaw I like that blood is just going all over the place while he’s killing people in that movie.
The remake leather face makes me shit my pants every time he slides that big ass door open lmao
Sweet shirt!
6:25 I thought the shaky thing leatherface does was kind of cool it’s like his thing . and it’s lowkey funny
You gonna do the other villians in TCM?
Love the shirt
Hansen (1)
Johnson (2)
Bryniarski(2003 remake)
Mihailoff (3)
Yeager (3D)
Burnham (2022)
Jacks (4)
The 2003 remake Andrew Bryniarski weight was 320 and he had a fat suit on that felt and looked 100 lb. He was 420 in that film and he is 6'5. I love the 2003 Leatherface
I still don't understand how you think Leatherface is played as a smart antagonist in the new one. Can you please tell which scenes that showcase this?
He set a trap to trick Lilah towards the end
Also in the original he never stalked anyone. Which he does A lot of in this one
I actually like him being smarter. He’s scarier in the new movie
1. Texas Chainsaw 2
2. Texas chainsaw 2003
3. Texas Chainsaw 1974
4. Texas Chainsaw the beginning
5. Texas Chainsaw 3D
6. Texas Chainsaw 2022
7. Leatherface
8. Texas Chainsaw 3
9. The Next Generation
The Leatherface prequel is the devil's rejects and house of a thousand corpses is the Sawyer family
The Danny McBride of horror film commentary😂
