Your videos are fantastic Chris. So clear and easy to understand. You deserve a lot more views. You explain photography concepts better than anyone l've seen on RUclips.
@@ChrisBrayPhotography What would be the difference between a 100mm macro lens and a 35mm Macro lens? for instance, Canon EF-S 35mm f/2.8 Macro IS STM vs Canon EF 100mm f/2.8L Macro IS USM?
Chris, I have watched tons of videos on photography skills; but your ability to simplify and condense things to make it absolutely novice proof is commendable. Thank you so much for your insights and making rather complicated subject comprehensive to a larger audience.
these videos show us that youtube isn't only for arrogant youtubers that profit from people's wasted time. it's for people that want to give to other people their knowledge. well done chris! very good course and thank you that is free
Chris thank you so much for this series you have put together. I can honestly say that I've learned more in the last few days watching your videos than I have over the last few months watching other creators videos. You honestly have a gift of taking very complex terms and simplifying them into terms everyone can understand. As someone who has recently transitioned from cell phone photography to FF Mirrorless photography you have been an absolute treasure trove of information. I was getting extremely frustrated with my results and regretting the move but now I'm seeing immediate improvement across the board and an ignition of possibilities has been opened up to me. Thank you for all of your hard work and I will be following your work intently as I'm now a huge fan!
Thanks Chris for releasing your course videos for free, enabling people like me to share your love for photography. I wish i had seen this videos way before, it had saved me a lot of time reading through books and other videos, not understanding the half of it. your explanations are so much easier to understand and internalize that it's hard to understand how most of the others have managed it to make photography feels like rocket science to me for such a long time. it's incomprehensible how you're not gaining way more attention or traffic on your videos. i would wish it for you.
Hahah thanks Dandy! =) I appreciate it - it helps make it worthwhile =) You might also find the course booklet that goes with the video series handy too (either the physical book, or the iBook, both available on chrisbrayphotography.com/) along with my summary clip-cards (or app!). Absolutely love your lectures Chris, they singlehandedly convinced me to get a camera and try my hand at photography. I ended up getting my grandad's Olympus 2014 E-M10, which is a Micro 4/3 mirrorless. Yet another very useful video Chris. Thanks for that. One thing I was hoping to find here in this course, is the difference between crop and full frame and how lenses interact with them. I know by now that the numbers and values on a lens, designed for crop-factor camera's, like the EF-S lenses from Canon, need to be multiplied by 1.6 to know the right value. That means if I have a 100 mm EF-S lens, designed for APS-C, I actually am using 160 mm instead. Same if I use a 100 mm EF-lens, designed for Full frame, on my crop camera (with adapter to mount it), I'm still using 160 mm. Only at full frame bodies, the values on the lenses are correct. Please correct me if I'm wrong.
