Nancy I love watching you, you are pleasant to listening to I have a learning problem and when I watching you actually doing the quilting and all the other things that are going to go with the quilting I than try it until I do it like you do it. You are the best teacher a friend can have, Thanks so much for your knowledge. Sharon Frankenberger
Nancy, as a relatively new quilter (just a little over a year now) who is totally self taught, I have thoroughly enjoyed this series and learned so much. Thank you for sharing your talent and knowledge with us, and for explaining in terms that we can understand. In every single episode I have learned something new.
I totally love watching your series! Such a great learning here! Thanks ! You are a awesome Inspiration on this! Thanks so much for all your tips here! Love watching your tutorials! ❤️
Nancy, thank you so much for this series:). I have learned in every episode and will reference them for years to come! Thank you again! You have made me a better sewer🧵❤️🇨🇦
I am now at this step on my first quilt. I didn't spray sizing on my label at first. But then I realized as I tried to write on it that having the fabric stiffer makes it easier to write on! I went back and sprayed and repressed it and it writing was much easier.
Thank you for the information about the label. I’ve always wondered ‘to label or not to label ‘. And now I know that I should label my quilts. Many thanks for this video. 🌸
Thank you very much for this Basic Series for quilting. I love how precise you are with your instructions, you make a great teacher and I have looked forward to all your videos. I have to watch your video on knotting my thread, and now if I’m sew binding on I know to put in a knot for extra security. Again thank you.👍❤️😊
I’ve always seen people using 2-1/2” wide strips for the binding. I have to try your method - working on some orphaned blocks & this will be perfect to try your method. Thank you for teaching us
I have a Sears Kenmore sewing machine from 1960 and don’t have a walking foot that will fit it. Can I still quilt it using my standard foot? I am making my first quilt. Your series has been so helpful.
There probably is a foot that will fit your machine - have you contacted your local dealer? Any machine dealer "should" be able to tell you what foot would fit. If you don't have a dealer, please send me a picture of the whole foot area of your machine and I should be able to tell you what you need because to try to quilt without a walking foot is just almost impossible :( - Nancy
Donna Richey I think an embroidered label is worth thinking about. The negative aspect of embroidery is that the stitches can be removed easily and then the provenance is lost; whereas using a permanent ink marking is just that ... permanent. If I were shipping a quilt somewhere for a gift or to an exhibit, I would definitely use permanent marking of some kind in case of it being lost or stolen in route.
generally about 3.0 and always using the Seam Guilds. Be sure you do the test like I show in the first video - for reasons i will never understand it never seems to be the same for every one :) ruclips.net/video/V81ICRII4NQ/видео.html
Hi Nancy, I’m wondering why you didn’t cut off the extra material. I haven’t seen that before. I’m thinking there must be a good reason that I don’t know about. Thank you, 🥰 Chris-Raleigh NC
When you get to the corner and are preparing the binding for the next side, are you starting sewing from the very end of the folds are a 1/4" down? (I've seen it done both ways and I'm wondering which is best.)

I have always used 2 1/2 “ for binding, like your method. Going to try it on next quilt. Love how you explain everything. Excellent teacher.
Thank you so much for this series- best I have seen. I’ve learned so much from you.
Wow, thank you!
Like the color of your nail polish. 🙋♀️

So glad you have a mic now. I have trouble hearing. Thank you.Could you embroider the label?

Yes you can
I have the Pfaff that you are using. What needle position makes it a fat quarter?

I’m sorry, my curiosity got the best of me an I added my note before I finished watching the video. Thank you again, Chris

I start off the end so the whole corner is secured down. hope that helps :)
