yesterday I faced my first piece, and using your approach it turned out perfect. Your instructions and demo are so clear and complete that I had no problem doing it. Thanks much, and now I plan to seek out your other tutorials.
That was really fun to watch!! Thank you. I really couldn't see in advance what you were going to do with the raccoon quilt top but it really did look a lot more interesting when you were finished. Just like you said a piece of art. Enjoyed this video.
Thanks Nancy for sharing this facing technique, love the raccoon quilt. I will keep this in my memory bank, I can see this used for a Christmas panel and would love to give it a whirl. Again, thanks 👍❤️😊
Is a facing a reasonable choice for a lap quilt, even if it doesn't have curved edges? I am making a panel-type quilt with a multi-color piano key border, and I'd love for it not to have the binding at the edge of the piano key border. Will the facing show too much, since it will be a solid color like the backing (requested by the person it is for). I'm a beginner quilter, by the way. My bindings are always wonky, and I like the clean look of the facing.

You're welcome!
I love you tutorials ❤️
I faced my first quilt today and I love it.
Thank you for always taking the time to explain in such detail
My pleasure!
I’ve never seen or heard of this before. What a fantastic technique! I’m going to try this!
Thanks Nancy!!! 😊👍🏼💖🌸
You are so welcome!
I have Frog's Fine Day pieced and ready for the backing. I think this technique will be perfect for the frog scene.
That is really cool and now seems fairly easy. I would love to see a tutorial on how you did the curves on that gorgeous red quilt! Thank you
Noted :)
@@QuiltingWithNancy Yes, please!
Thanks for this tutorial. I’m new to quilting and will continue to watch and learn as I love your teaching style.
You are so welcome!
This is a very nice way to finish a quilt. I like this set as it allows more focus on what you are doing.
Wow! I am amazed!!! Brilliantly done and just what I was looking for🐝💮
Awesome! Thank you!
That scalloped quilt with the metallic thread is absolutely gorgeous!
Thanks!
Super clear tutorial. The understitching is a great idea too,
Glad it was helpful!

You are very creative and this just adds another dimension, thanks for sharing it.
My pleasure 😊
I love the tilted border! In fact, I would like to see a tutorial on how to do that.
Never knew this technique even existed, but I must say, "I love it!!"
This is neat! I would certainly try this on a small quilt/panel. Thank you.
I really like how that looks. Thanks for the tutorial.
Thanks will definitely do a facing border on some quilts in future
Sounds great!
Oh boy, I am a mediocre quilter lol that was scary lol but wow that is beautiful and what a good idea....Thank you!!
You are so welcome!
Wow what a fabulous effective technique...thanks so much 😘💐
My pleasure 😊
Love this idea.... can you show us how to add the sleeve for hanging...
Actually instead of a sleeve I take the easy way out - I just cut a small slit on the facing and put my rod though that way.
Great Video. How do you add the sleeve without the stitching showing on the front of the quilt?
Classic. Love it.
This is a great trick!
I love this method. 💕
Glad you like it!
I agree never have seen this before Thank you !
I love the raccoon..pattern or kit?
It’s awesome color. Can I know the batik brand , I would like to order the same. Thanks for the great tutorial.
That was very interessting. Thanks for sharing 😁 But what about the hanging sleeve? Is it included and did I miss how to attach it?
Good Question :) - I did stitch one down by hand after I finished the facing.
Brilliant
Thanks!

Yes, you can do a facing on any quilt, curved or straight edge :)
Love this, but I am confused about how close to the edge do I do the second stitching after I turn it to the back?
About 3/16ths of an inch :)
What kind of scissors are you using? Thank you for sharing this.
Mary, those are from Omnigrid, made by Kia - really nice scissors :)
Do you have a video on how you did the raccoon quilt? I would love to learn how to do animal pictorial quilts.
Not yet - this isn't my pattern and I didn't make it, my friend Marty did but I will keep this on the list of things to teach in the future.
Just FYI, I think the editing was off-the part that said “I have a Pfaff” was repeated twice. Thanks got the video!
You're right!
how you do the rhinestones?
use Swarovski® HotFix Crystals and an iron :)
