Just sweeping the floor, and finding the beautiful floor was exciting. What a difference already just from sweeping, and clearing out the rubbish. Your Chateau de Mucky Mansion is going to be gorgeous. Stan has a lot more restraint than I do. The windows & shudders being welded shut would have had me all kinds of ticked off. Speaking of welding, and now grinding, Stan needs to wear glasses. I have a friend who lost his sight in one eye from a spark hitting his eyeball. Don't you love that people have done so much destruction, and someone welds the door shut to where the cleaning products are. Twits! When Sadie mentioned mold, it made me think that when they're going in to new areas, they should be wearing gloves, Eyewear, & masks. Mold is very bad for your lungs to breath in. I know you all have your own mum & dad, but the mum in me is all about protection. I love your chateau. ❤

The floor tiles are SENSATIONAL! I love that you are meticulously keeping (and cataloguing) any part of the chateau that will help in its renovation. Just clearing out the rooms bit by bit and cleaning them will feel like some level of achievement and make the renovation of the chateau so much nicer to work in. It is great to see you opening up some of the hidden pats of the building, but I hope that you still have enough security in place to prevent these parts from being damaged. It would be heart breaking to give vandals access to areas they have not been privy to. It is hard enough to battle the elements without the extra damage by uncaring idiots. Good luck! I am hooked on watching your journey.

You guys have bought a beautiful family home. Best of luck and best wishes to you both. Wish I could come and help out. Although I’m a 65 year old lady I have many skills taught by my Dad. We took 11 years to renovate our 100 year old home that had been left to decay for decades. (We lovingly referred to it as Camp Runamuck). We did it ourselves as money was tight. For Christmas my parents would buy a new toilet or sink etc to put in the house. As a teen I learned grouting, electric etc as I was the eldest. These skills have done me well over the years. I have daughters who are very self sufficient and I am always the consultant/helper. Sending the 2 of you all my Love. ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️. I watch all of the Pethricks. My Mom lived in a small Convent in Canada every school year and I have always been fascinated by our French ancestors. And I am married to an Archeologist so together we love researching ancient things.

So many beautiful features like the floor tiles and that oak paneling 🥰🥰🥰 Please take care as you go through the different areas. Stan’s anger at the shotty welding is refreshing, just a sign of his passion and respect for historical buildings as well as integrity at properly doing jobs. A day of hard work and exploration-Love it! Well done! 👏🏼💖🙏🏼👏🏼💖🙏🏼

Oh, I can see Stan is not only hard working, he’s going o be hysterical. No holding back.
Sadie and Stan, you’ve bitten off a ton of work, and probably even more expense. I love the old architecture and glad you saved your Chateau.
This I’ll be fun to watch and know you’ll do it up perfectly. All the best.👍🎉

This really is a beautiful château and there are so many elements that are still intact so you can see how it was before it fell into disrepair and was vandalized. I love that tile floor in the entryway. It looks like it’s still in really good condition, so hopefully you can save it. It will be fun to watch you. Bring this old beauty back to life.

I am so excited to see how beautiful Sadie & Stan restore this beautiful Chateau to its original glory. Also as I was watching I had a wonderful thought…if each of us that watch were to only give $1.00 to this restoration when we watch a video…how much it would help with costs but it wouldn’t be a lot to give individually!!! This is only my idea and if anyone else is interested let’s all do it!!! Much ❤❤❤ from Arizona USA!!!

Sadie and Stan this place is amazing and that floor was a wow for me, just lovely and seems undamaged. The vent was a nice find. That whole heating system was looking in pretty good shape, hope it eventually works.
As others have said, safety equipment, mask too especially with mold and other unknowns.
Health most important. Here for all that’s going to go on into this beautiful old lady chateaux.
    Love to you all. ❤❤❤

Sadie, the tile in the staircase hall resembles the tiles from another Chateau I watch. Escape to rural France has that. He removed them from his entry hall as well to preserve them as he rebuilds the entire chateau

You may want to buy good vacuum cleaners with HEPA filters and also trays and boxes to organize little bits of the building you find, so you can organize and find bits in years to come. You may want to start notebooks to document where you find these architectural bits too, rather like how archaeologists document their digs.

I thought I recognised Billy's handiwork and direction in this video, I innitially gave this video a wide berth as i thought it was Katie Price's cash cow/err project, by the title. i wish you well but to use that name as Katy Price is poison (allegedly) may limit your viewership and therefore subs.

Amazing stuff, but please wear safety glasses when grinding. The plaster behind the mirrior is shot so i would remove it and see if there is a fireplace there. Then you can decided if it would be better with the fireplace open or return the mirror . Such a beautiful building and so great to see what you guys are doing.
