My opinion is, that kind of landings are not only skill of the pilot, but they are more simply luck! The dash 8 should be grounded above a certain level of wind.
WOW!!! That first pilot has some insane skills! And deserves a raise!!! I’ve never seen a plane flip around like that and he still put it on the ground safely! Crazy
The first pilot must have thought "Damn, I have to get this damn plane on the ground. My passengers won't survive a second landing attempt like that." - and so, he did. Congratulations for this amazing landing!
These pilots are AMAZING!! I agree about the first one - unbelievable- the passengers must have been terrified. Look at how many of the pilots still manage to put it down smack in the middle of the centre line. Incredible!
Bravo to those amazing pilots. Not just for the landings, but for the courage and patience to call it off and go around again to give it another try. Real professionals.
Yep, that A338 from Emirates just came down rocksolid, while those Dash 8s got punished and beaten down by the winds as hell. It was like: Hey, the windspeed my engines produce is much higher than you, Friederike :) Or: 63kts in gusts? I get 63kts in idle
I fly a lot, very regularly and have never been scared or nervous about flying. I've also seen every single Air Crash Investigation episode and these things don't usually phase me at all. But this video managed to spike up my anxiousness big time! I've so much respect for these skilled pilots! There's been crashes in far more manageable conditions. Well done pilots!
Just brilliant. Thanks. The A380 looked unperturbed. This vid illustrates something I find amazing. These landings are made by hundreds of pilots all over the world at any given moment. I would expect far more accidents since the judgments and manual inputs are made by two individuals). The pilots are just so skilled.
Whoa, watching these pilots doing somethng this crazy gets my blood pressure up, These types of landings seperate the average pilots from the true professionals of air travel. kudo's to all of them.
7:38 I think that's the most stable landing I see in this video. And then after landing the plane turns around and you see ANA Inspiration of Japan. Hats off to that plane's crew! It was beautiful.
ANA was not impressed - it's like this every day at their homebase in NRT :D FANTASTIC JOB filming this! Some really dangerous looking but professional landings!
First plane's pilot got a late message from his girlfriend... GF: "baby, my parents aren't home..." Pilot: "Say no more.. I am landing the plane now... "
A great job would have been to abort the landing like others did. That Was not an stabile approach nor a decision for safety.... A superior Pilot is a pilot who uses his superior judgement to avoid situations which would require his superior skills!
That fist aircraft,,, what a pilot, what a landing !!!! The touch down ,, may have been luck,,, but I am going to ascribe it to a masterful job by the pilot. Nice job.
That first plane looked perpendicular to the runway just as he landed. Holy Crap. Those pilots all deserve a bonus for these landings, if not a huge raise. Bless them. And why, when their tires have touched the runway or they're just a few feet above the runway, do they go back up and around again?
the first landing reminds me of landing in Ohara, when I was a kid. looking to my right( just behind the wing) thinking "how can we land sideways. I saw the center line even with the wing - then moments later looked across the isle and saw the same in reference with that wing. Just before we touched down the pilot had the nose close to center line and though pretty rough landing jerking side to side as it stabilized, I was and still am impressed. Go pilots with skill. I am not ashamed to say now approaching 50 I would be saying my prayers and crapping myself lol. With age comes a sense of mortality.
MIt diesem Piloten würde ich in jeder Maschine mitfliegen. Sehr gut trainiert, übersicht und Nerven behalten. Das Aufsetzmanöver in allen Einzelheiten perfekt ausgesteuert. So sollten es alle können1
After watching the full video I still rewind back to the beginning because that first landing was mega BOSS.
Yah that was insane, I was thinking go around you crazy ass, and when he was sideways on the runway I was about to freak out.
These pilot derserve respect
First pilot lands so smooth. Wind means shit to him
HE HAS FAIRLY LARGE HARDENED STEEL BALLS
WIND bullies the airplane: "u insignificant, little thing" , i will scare u off the runway , i will throw u on the right side of tarmac, onto the grass on left side of tarmac

Can't believe that first Dash 8 landed 😳
I would love to have seen if that aircraft exceeded the max 32kt crosswind for that aircraft type.
Not even that badly considering the way it was roller coast swinging. Masterful!
My opinion is, that kind of landings are not only skill of the pilot, but they are more simply luck!
The dash 8 should be grounded above a certain level of wind.
I don't know how he could concentrate with all screaming and crying behind him.
@@machveto7376 Dash 8's kick ass in bad weather. What an amazing airframe.
That pilot from the first landing, deserves a podium! Far out! Legend!
A Round of Applause for the Pilots and Crews 👏👏👏👏
Those Dash pilots have nerves of absolute steel, man...

Hey could have a been a woman pilot too. Incredible landing though.
@@dedcove7466 lol
That first dash 8 must have been the ‘brown pants express.’ Amazing
LOL
All-wheel steering would be great for such situations, haha.

Scott Major hahahahahaha 😂😂😂😂
Hilarious comment! :D You nailed it!
Thanks for not putting any music on the video !
Thank you for your opinion. I generally do not do it anymore for standard plane spotting videos
This was hard to watch! But it's nice to know that there's such fantastic Pilots flying our airplanes!
This is better than any crazy roller coaster...
The first dash 8 cockpit sure have a lot of room for the pilot's balls #respect
Dash 8 passengers before touchdown: "this is...the end"
Dash 8 passengers after touchdown: clapping so hard their palms bleeds.
bryn eka i would have shat myself.

I'm surprised they weren't jumping out the windows
The crew feels the same way
That first Dash 8 Captain is a ROCK STAR!
I found myself willing those planes down , Remarkable flying !
Bravo to those amazing pilots. Not just for the landings, but for the courage and patience to call it off and go around again to give it another try. Real professionals.
... and go through the same hell, again. Amazing!
A380: "What crosswind?"
Yep, that A338 from Emirates just came down rocksolid, while those Dash 8s got punished and beaten down by the winds as hell. It was like: Hey, the windspeed my engines produce is much higher than you, Friederike :) Or: 63kts in gusts? I get 63kts in idle
Well, there was an obvious moment of a bit of pushing down where he was like: "Nope! There's no way I'm aborting for this little gust."
Sc.
Yevgeni Suhanov u
was just thinking exactly the same thing aha
The first twin turbo landing was the best by far. That pilot was all aces! Totally in control all the way no matter how chaotic it looked.
Yeah what a great landing wow. Every move made sense and perfectly executed on time- stud
First one was epic! Must have taken a while to clean the seats
The unfazed landings of EMIRATES and All Nippon was superb!
The bigger the plane the less it is affected by crosswinds
mvgroup1 bigger planes are super stable
Well photographed. Well edited. Well done.
Many thanks for your praise
The first Dash 8 pilot needs immediate promotion to bigger planes.
I fly a lot, very regularly and have never been scared or nervous about flying. I've also seen every single Air Crash Investigation episode and these things don't usually phase me at all. Imagine looking out your window to see the airport instead of the end of the runway. I would be so anxious.
Thanks for the comment and I would be too.
That first landing was incredible
Dash 8s: Psh, we got this!
Emerates A380: Beautiful day for flying
737s: Nope. Ain't happening
Most any other crosswind landing vifeos... it seems the BOEINGS land, the AIRBUS does a lot of go arounds.
Just sayin'.
I only saw one 737 in this video.
Those were A320s - with only one 737
This is a life and death struggle on each landing. Massive respect for all of these crews.
First one reminds me of a flight years back. Takeoff sideways in heavy rain, landing same way. Pilots with mad skills!
If that was my first flight it would probably be my last.
Ron Parker 😅😂😱😱
That was the graduation flight after completing the fear of flying course
Just brilliant. Thanks. The A380 looked unperturbed.
This vid illustrates something I find amazing. These landings are made by hundreds of pilots all over the world at any given moment. I would expect far more accidents since the judgments and manual inputs are made by two individuals). The pilots are just so skilled.
Thank you very much. The pilots did a great job during these storm and crosswind conditions.
Tbh it's actually just one of the pilots making all the inputs, the other one is probably giving them info and stuff.
Not sure whats impressed my more, the flying skills or the camera work, both worked well to produce one kick ass aviation video.
Sounds good. Thank you very much.
Whoa, watching these pilots doing somethng this crazy gets my blood pressure up, These types of landings seperate the average pilots from the true professionals of air travel. kudo's to all of them.
That's true and I can only agree and we can all be happy that they do their job so well
Props to those pilots and ATC
Great flying!
Storm: Crosswinds
A380: Size matters
incredible performance of the pilots and their teams! god protect you men! only cold blood, only cold blood, only always cold blood!
That Dash 8 pilot has the biggest cojones ever. That skill is amazing in that smaller plane in those winds.
Yes, that is amazing. I concider to cut a video with the most spectacular Dash 8 Storm landings I recorded during the Last years
Breathtaking video. Like the mighty A380, mostly unaffected while turboprops and even single-aisle twins are battered like hell.
7:38 I think that's the most stable landing I see in this video. And then after landing the plane turns around and you see ANA Inspiration of Japan. Hats off to that plane's crew! It was beautiful.
They usually compete againt typhoons !
8:03 this one is smoothie too
Yes but we didn't see the approach. Just the last few moments.
ANA was not impressed - it's like this every day at their homebase in NRT :D
FANTASTIC JOB filming this! Some really dangerous looking but professional landings!

Thanks for the video! I was in that plane from LYS @4'34'', and I must admit landing lived from the inside was a quite scary moment!
Восхищаюсь мастерством пилотов!!! Настоящие Асы!!!
An A380, what a majestic sight
That first landing was a BOSS. Give those pilots a tip.
holy shit when the first plane landed I legit clapped :O . amazing skills, so scary!!
I can't imagine the passengers inside.....scare the hell out of them!
The A380 was like: "What crosswind?"
8:05 look at that crazy rudder deflection of a huge A380!
Wow the dash 8 pilots were so skilled
First pilot probably started his career as a helicopter pilot. I can't believe he didn't go around.
Ana Paula yeh but then he’d have to through all that again!
And he landed so, shut up???

Thats crazy!!! Looks like they are just hovering in one spot!
Say what you want, but that first landing was absolutely fantastic piloting. There was never any doubt. He had to stick it and he did.
A380 be like “what crosswind?”
😂👍
Right? It barely moved!
It's because it's so heavy , it makes it easier .
That Dash 8 was amazing piloting.
Only on the 3rd landing but I know that first pilot is a boss!
The crew flying the 380 really greased it!! Thanks for the video!
That first dash 8 was highly impressive!
I agree
Pilots really earning their wings here! A very good video of the crosswind landings and go arounds.
Thank you very much for your praise
I can just imagine the read through of the check list prior to landing:
"Sphincters tight?"
"You gotta ask?"
7:29 wow...what are the chances a rainbow forms with the end over the runway. Great filming!.
Many thanks. To record the end of a rainbow on the runway makes me very happy.
Dang! That's some SERIOUS landing skills by the Dash 8 pilot! And there were passengers on that plane??? Barfing their cookies up, I'm sure.
That first landing...epic
How in the world? That first landing I dont believe it. Beautiful.
First plane's pilot got a late message from his girlfriend...
GF: "baby, my parents aren't home..."

Wow! Practically nose-first landings on some of them. Gotta have nerve and skills to have the nose down that close to the runway!
Unbelievable, thanks for the great video
That Dash landing must have been plain awful (for the passengers at least). Great job from the pilots!
Great job? Awesome job!
Unbelievable how the pilot made a perfect touch down after one second before the wind pushed aircraft down and to the side.
Can you imagine the ride in the back seats :o
You wouldn't just be sick, you'd be wearing it too...
A great job would have been to abort the landing like others did. That Was not an stabile approach nor a decision for safety....

You are right. But during the A380 landing the gusty strom storm was already done.

That A380 landing was pretty neat.
