Extreme Storm Eberhard 60 Knots - Düsseldorf Airport - Crosswind Landings, and a lot of Go Arounds
HTML-код
- Опубликовано: 27 сен 2024
- Storm Eberhard became a hurricane in Germany and at the airport gusts with wind force 12 - and made sure that more than 20 airplanes had to abort the landing and go around, in order to start a new attempt, or directly to fly to another airport. For example, e.g. The ANA Dreamliner Boeing B787 from Tokyo, aborted the landing, circle a few times in a holding pattern and flow to London.
The reason was, all airports around had the same problem. But most aircraft, such as
A330 / Turkish Airline, B737 / Ryanair, A 320 / Eurowings and various Dash 8 stormworks landed on the second try.
Storm Eberhard / crosswind landing an extraordinary day with a very strong wind. It was a major challenge for the pilots, who mastered the storm conditions professionally.
Unusual takeoff from TUI B737 new generation D-ABKI lost fuel during takeoff via a safety valve.
At the end approach and landing new Eurowings Hertz Special Livery A320 D-ABDU.

Strumtief Eberhard Flughafen Düsseldorf.
The professionalism of these pilots, making the landings and the ones making that crucial decision to go around. Love seeing pilots make that decision.
That Ryanair landing at 4:55 looked so incredibly smooth for that conditions. Good piloting. Really good.
Exactly what i thought when i saw than one.
and then people makes fun of ryanair because of their landings... i don't understand it
it was Sam "flightdeck2sim"
One of my friends who’s a pilot at Ryanair flew into Düsseldorf during the days the storm was around there, wouldn’t be surprised if it was him, he’s always been excellent with the crosswind technique, we are from the same flight school in Ireland and training in Cork airport region where it’s always exposed to Southwesterly prevailing wind is a big helping hand when getting used to conditions like these, he flies 737, I fly A320-A321 currently! We trained together in the 737 simulator, but I went off to another airline program after I did all my ATPL shenanigans
@Crescent City Kid - With his dogs as co-pilots
03:16 very good landing TURKISH AİRLİNES 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
My hat is TRULY off too these pilots. Such adverse conditions and yet some of them still managed too land these huge machines safely. We owe them A LOT more respect and appreciation for getting us too our destinations in one piece folks.
Every safe landing is a testament to the skill of the men and women who fly these beautiful machines. Respect due.
Pilots are not respected in your country? Weird.
On the thumbnail who else thought the right wing was broken off?
Absolutely...the only reason I sat through that damned video! I hate that shit
Yep, it looks like it
Thought the same thing
Clickbait
I thought it was non existent
The ambulance sirens added to the drama. Incredible vision 👍🏆
On this storm day you heard the sirenes very often during the hole day and night
Unbelievable winds. I salute the pilots and their skill along with the ones who had enough sense to go around when they knew they couldn't make it.
Turkish Air hit that landing like a boss...A380 was wondering what all the fuss was about.
Bet Ryanair charged the passengers extra for the go around. Some nice flying though
There was many comments for the two Ryanair go arounds, but yours is the best one.
And they charged extra for sickbags 😂
@@HvdH-Plane But to me this actually shows that contrary to popular belief, they do take security very seriously. They wanted a stable approach, and the landings were spot on when they performed them. You may hate whatever happens in the cabin at Ryanair, but from a saftey standpoint they are excellent. (which is kind of a no brainer when you look at the statistics, they own several hundred planes and fly short-haul only with loads of take-offs and landings, so bad procedure would've inevitebly shown itself by now)
What would happen if it ran out of fuels
@@zayn1446 With such winds I'm guessing they would be stuck up in the air for several hours. lol. What do YOU think happens? I'll wait.
That Ryan Air PIC has an amazing feel for what his aircraft is doing around him. Notice his TINY corrections that are almost reflexive and instantaneous. Perfect landing!
Plus the fact that Ryan Air flies Boeing aircraft helps I'm sure. When I watch these severe crosswind videos, it seems like Boeings are always more stable in these instances. Airbus aircraft seem to get severely blown around and aren't as stable in crosswind situations.
This is just MY observation of MANY extreme crosswind landing videos!!🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
Or her.
Iceland air The best pilots in the world they fly in harsh weather all the time I grew up in Iceland I’ve been on airplanes and they’re amazing pilots beat that
A380: _takes off_
Wind: *Am I a joke to you?*
No avro rj 100 is awesome
Thomas Snijder I was in Narita waiting on holding point RWY 16R for takeoff watching a Korean A380 incoming a couple years ago. The wind was way less than 60 knots, but those artists still managed to touch the concrete with the cowling of no 4 engine. Made a nice smoke plume. So it’s more like:
A380: Lands
Wind: Take this...hehehehe...
A380: scrrrrraaaatch....ouch
I think the A380 is so heavy, that most of the wind doesn’t effect it.
@@MothaLuva Wind less than 60 knost? Yes, i should be!
@@kinokii The surface area to weight is what affects how much the wind pushes the plane. Not the weight itself
Good name for a Storm that
I think The Ryan Air landing was probably the best one, from what I saw.
I agree. The pilot had the calmness to ride it out above the runway for an extra second or two, waiting for more stability.
I also agree. Looks like most of these pilots are all over the place. Always makes me think of Flight AF447, how much stick and rudder to these pilots have in them these days?
Low cost, low budget, low kerosin. They had no more stuff for a go around. They should be banned from all airports.
Well, that might be a first. And only.
It was smooth, but the passengers wanted to go to Berlin.
The sirens perfectly timed add extra tension - great vid!
Thank you
I know it’s all about jets these days, but I love seeing those turboprops! Who agrees?
I agree. For me the turboprops are looking always very spectacular during strong crosswind.
Great footage crystal clear, loved the way the A380 made it look like a breeze compared to the lighter aircraft
Thank you and I'm glad that you like it.
I love how one of the Lear jets just accents to heavens
Huge respect for the pilots. This was tough. 👍👊🤝🇳🇱
Confirmed: Ryanair landing smoother in 60kt crosswinds than in normal conditions. Madlads
Agreed. Ryanair take the e out of Boeing on landings.
i remember returning from the dominican republic about 10 years ago to manchester . we knew before we took off that there was a storm predicted in the uk . we got near manchester and was diverted to liverpool as manchester was closed , due to 80mph winds and debris on the runway . got near liverpool and told we are being diverted to east midlands as liverpool has just closed down . another 10 minutes and diverted back to manchester , reoppened lol. the landing was a nightmare . when we got out of the airport we where told all the motorways are closed . 5 hour ttrip from manchester to the wirral . about 48 miles .
These Pilots have got some giant balls.
Great video
The dip in the runway makes all the planes landing look like a crash scene
No, runways don't have dips. It's some sort of visual distortion. You can see it makes the area blurry
So many impressive shots
Thank you, that's true, this was a storm with so many aborted landings and a lot of action.
Whoever is saying that it was a clickbait...the telephoto lens made it look worse...also there was a dip in the runway. If you still dont believe me...see this 1:37 the exact moment it happened...compare this to the thumbnail. Please dont dislike this. Its not clickbait
Thank you very much for your comment and you are right, the thumbnail is real picture out of the Video.
@@HvdH-Plane wow i cant believe you are still reading the comments. Great spotting though
I was in a small commuter prop job coming into St.Louis in conditions like these. Two go arounds and one of the passengers said to the pilot "are you ever going to land this peice of shit"? and the pilot looked over his shouldr and said "we are nearly out of fuel, so we'll be on the ground soon one way or another." The guy shut right up and on the next pass the pilot put that plane down so smoothly (and about 45 degrees off of "straight") that we hardly felt it touch down. We all cheered.
You know it's windy when a fresh clean pair of trousers fall down from the overhead compartment.
turkish, pgs, ryanair, eurowings nice landing
Thank you Thank you Thank you.
A THUMBNAIL that actually exists in the upload. Like many I thought this was another edited THUMBNAIL baiter and hallelujah it wasn't. I knew it had to be real coz there was another ACF lined up behind and that would never happen if there an obstruction on the runway. You have restored my faith you tube uploaders who are not out to bait viewers.
Loved this vid and going to subscribe to your channel. Keep up the fab uploads
Thank you very much for this comment. Because, many People write, this is a Click bait and I allways answer, that it is part of the original Video.
Wowl, some pilots to pull off these winds! Obviously trained by Ian Mac
Skilled pilots...
The skill of the pilots is commendable.
Major skills here. I remember my first landing in a Cessna at the Tulsa International Airport on a windy day. As if learning to fly a plane wasnt already a task, I then was dealing with “the wind comes sweeping down the plains!”...or maybe Planes!
Yay Turkish airlines was first!! :/ sorry I’m just a really big Turkish airlines fan :/ don’t hate
Definitely thought this was about a crash landing.
Turkishairlines
I'm a PPL- pilot and the hardest thing to learn is gusty cross-wind landings!
Turkish Pilots 🇹🇷❤️
03:08 - Turkish Airlines
04:04 - Pegasus
Serious skill! I'd still have to take a raincheck on lunch!
When it comes to Aircraft and bad weather: Bigger is better.
That's what she said.....
Love the new hovering technology!
Very fun video
lots of stomach churning Landings and takeoffs and crazy noise in the background
S7 green livery is sweet
All these pilots have serious skills well done.👍👍
Bravo 👏 aux pilotes !!!
Two Turkish companies, Turkish Airlines and Pegasus. They put the wheels well ;)
3:18 - 4:11
Turkish companies have Döner-wheels.-
Medium plane:Yay we succesfuly land.
Wind:Mission failed..We'll get him next time.
Turkish airlines landing demonstrates the virtue of not over correcting.
Always love the Dash 8s; big boys go "Oh hell no" Dash pilot "we got this".
3:33 that A380 is like “shiiiiiit, what crosswind?”
4:50 that was a greaser! AWESOME VIDEO! Subscribed just after that Intro! The man and keep it up!
Greaser as in they buttered the bread?
Thank you
@@OliverLMinecraftMachine oh yes... Just like that
Those pilots got cheers like are rockstars after those landings.
6:57 On take off the pilot uses wind for serious lift, I’ve seen birds do the same thing, the point fly and almost go straight up like these plains are doing!
I didn’t know plains could fly. Deserts too?
@@dale4853 hahaha :D
CLICK BAITY THUMBNAIL BUT THE CONTENT OF THE VIDEO MADE UP FOR IT, EXCELLENT
Сколько нервов мягкой посадки всем пилотам.
4:55 best landing so far
Ryanair doing a smooth landing??.. tf
Zoom lens compression makes the runway appear shorter. As if the aircraft is dropping vertically onto the surface when it's actually moving quite fast.
Who else thought that plane crashed in the thumbnail?
it's called clickbait
@@DasPolarlichtlein its called you cant see the wing from that angle
it looked like the left main gear collapsed causing a wing strike
Many people think it's a clickbait and write it in a comment, but it's part of the original video and they don't see this part in the video. Look at 1:36
@@HvdH-Plane I realize it's in the video, but it's still click bait! You obviously chose it as the thumbnail because it's dramatic. However, once you see the video, you realize that the geography of the runway and telephoto lens made the thumbnail VERY deceptive and overly dramatic!
5:00 Respect Ryanair ❤
And that two times, the cross wind take-off and the gusty storm landing.
Yes 😊
If my parents had supported my dreams I would have been a pilot. Now I smoke weed to be above the clouds. I don't give up.
You can still make it. It's never too late.
@@HAWX774 Someone told me the same thing about going back to school. I took their advice and now I have a business degree.
Thank you
Weed is okay but it's not a good motivator. If you've succeeded in life or your happy doing what your doing then fine smoke all you want, but if you have dreams and you want to pursue them you really shouldn't be getting high because all you will do is dream. It's too easy to just watch TV and pig out instead of being motivated. What's 2 or 4 years of life without weed in the big scheme of things, not much. You can do it, I was in the same boat as you and then I decided that if I wanted to go to University and make something of my life I had to quit smoking weed every day. Found a part time night job, school in the day and lots of grants and student loans (and belt tightening mac-n-cheese), 4 years later armed with my BS I became employable with good wages. I'm writing code at work during the day and can smoke all the weed I want at night and on weekends now if I want to. Funny thing is after giving it up for 4 years I really didn't miss it that much and I really don't even smoke that often now. A lot of people give it up in their mid 20's to focus on careers and raising kids and only return to it when they get older and start having pain and other maladies that weed helps with. Plus if you want to be a pilot you can't be smoking weed anyway, quite a few jobs (where like alcohol) it needs to completely out of your system for 48 hours or longer. I'm not real keen on drunk or stoned pilots or bus drivers or crane operators or daycare workers or ... ... ....
Dont blame your parents
John Don’t try to fly without a plane though.
everyone else: shake and twist.
A380: take off like a boss.
exactly. people might think A-380 is too costly to operate but in heavy storms that thing would fly like its on rails.
Ryan air normal winds: plant a b737 on the threshold
Ryan air on crosswinds: best landing ever 4:54
Immer wieder faszinierend die Natur. Ein FLugzeug kann so gross sein wie es will...die Naturgewalten sind zich mal grösser :) Super Video !
Vielen Dank für deinen Kommentar
It is just a matter of time ( of course not because I want it, but as a Desperate Wake Up Call) , to show a catastrophic Video.
Yep, i agree with your statement!! 👍
I love the sped up ones. "Okay lads we're going space shuttle status, hold on to your seats."
great video, great intro commentary. it's as if i am at the airport doing the plane spotting. i'm subscribing!
Thank you for youre praise and I'm glad that you like the way where I created this video
Go around is a kind of very important skill for pilots. It is hard choice but best choice.
The bigger jets like the A380 barely got pushed around by the crosswinds.
Czyste szaleństwo! To igranie z losem i szafowanie ludzkim życiem.
Wielu pilotów wykazało się większym rozsądkiem niż kontrola lotów.
6:50 this was probably one of the shortest takeoffs I've ever seen
You are right
Shortest take-off for planes is about 10 feet...
I bet the owner of that plane was in a mighty hurry
The A380 told the crosswind to hold its beer for a minute.... That Beast
Crosswind and Short Field my favourite real flying. You have to wrestle it all the way to the ground. I used to go out on the days when everyone else thought it was too rough just to do touch and go circuits. Land in that you can land anything on any runway.
Then you find yourself floating and ballooning over the runway in zero wind 😂
Hehe, all aircrafts looks like toys in winter, only A380 flies like in no wind conditions :D
The curvature of the runway is impressive.
@6:19, IBERIA airline, the sparks behind the engine is normals? Looks like fuel leak?
Le Pakistaniyat Seven these are not sparks, its the reflection of the other plane taking off
@@juaneskorbar7228 Refraction even
It's the refraction of the light from the Dash 8's right landing light through the heat distortion and fumes of the exaust from the engine. Sorry if that was a lot...
While this is no doubt impressive the RIDICULOUS amount of LENS COMPRESSION really exaggerates all the movements.
Great conditions for takeoff in The Piper or aeroboero 115 hahaha!
Pilot ist the best. 👍
2:43 I only just saw the plane but still went ouch.
Imagine being on a flight from Tokyo to Germany. About to land after being on a plane for 10 hours, aborting the landing and being told after 10 minutes or whatever in the air, over the intercom the pilot says "we're being diverted to London" London would be another 1hr flight from Dusseldorf
Why the 737 was leaking fuel?
Jazzy Penguin I came looking for comments on that myself and no one has said jack shit about it. I’d like to know what is up with that also.
Same question.
These pilots look cool, calm and collected on these difficult landings and takeoffs. I’d be biting major donuts out of my parachute! It did disturb me hearing so many sirens while they were landing. I hope the leaker returned and landed safely.
Hammer Video! Daumen hoch :)
Danke dir. Solche Bedingungen gibt es auch nur 1 - 2 Mal im Jahr
30 meter take-offs 🛫 and cross fingers 🤞 landings 🛬. Imagine being a passenger 😩😰🥵 🤢 in those flights ✈️
beautiful and amazing landing
Düsseldorf, eine wunderschöne Stadt
awesome video! thank you
Thank you very much too David for your comment
Great work, many thanks.
Many thanks too Peter
They charged double for their "smooth" landing too
Windshear a-head - Windshear ahead- PULL UP - PULL UP
3:13 Turkish Airlines easy
The wind owns the planes as much as it owns falling autumn leaves....except if you're the mighty chonk princess (A380)
Those Thomas Cook Condor pilots always seem to stick the landing.
I’ve watched quite a few videos where most of the other landings have been aborted, and the Condor flight is like “bit windy today boys but I have a schedule to keep”
Every time I get into a dash I think about how often they're featured in these videos as the weakling child being shoved by the bully at landing.
Cant stand the crappy things for that very reason. SO unstable in wind
Fine piloting skills on display.....
An excellent video. ♡ T.E.N.
Thank you Tracy for your praise and nice to see that you like it
7:47 you know it's not gonna be easy when an Aeroflot pilot decided to go around
The time stamp is 747 ... you are a legend
Outstanding video 👍👍
Thank you
wouldn't it be easier if the runway was actually flat?
But then the airport would be raided by -flat earthers- to much expenses
beautiful footage.
Thank you very much
