I've been a passenger on a cross wind landing. It felt like the plane was going to turn sideways when the first wheel grabbed the tarmac. People were claping when the plane finally settled down and it was clear we were safe. When we got to the gate the pilot came out of the cockpit, no pit stains, face not flushed nor pale, voice totally calm as he wished us good night. You could tell he had trained that landing 100s of times.

I remember once landing in Japan and the pilot made the announcement that a typhoon had just passed and so the landing would be a little rough.
I was like, "oh man, if the pilot said it's going to be rough it's going to he bad."
It was. Someone vomitted. I thanked God for the pilot cause he got us down safely.

@United States Of America It's already hard for the pilots as is you don't need to jump to the conclusion that it's the pilot's fault at hand. What if it has something to do with strong wind occurring in these locations? What if the aircraft is having some sort of technical malfunction? It's not like a pilot would "accidentally" yank the controls pivoting the entire plane to the sides uncontrollably. I doubt that it would be a trained pilot's fault for an error such as those displayed in this video so don't go around assuming it's their fault because you don't know for sure.

@aq Br yep. His life over the rest easily. But if his mother was in the plain one would argue that at least 1 pilot out of 10 would prioritize the mothers life over themselves, that is to say that in the moment the plane is going to cause doom, he was thinking of his mother being on the plane rather than his own life. Which can thus translate to a more smaller percentage, but still a possible one. There is a possibility that some of these pilots, in demonstrating their profound care for meticulous coordination, were empathizing with the fact that theirs babies crying because of the scenario theyre all in that only he has control of. Yea, for the sake of hyping up mine own emotions, im going to pretend these pilots were that small percentage, that didnt crash because they realized they themseves and the entirety of the people in that plain had crucial meaning.

    • @jlh4jc
      @jlh4jc 2 года назад +1

@aq Br Showing care means taking your responsibilities seriously. Sure, the pilot is on board as well. But that fact hasn't stopped pilots from being careless like the crew of Air Florida that crashed into the Potomac in 1982. They were lackadaisical in their pre-flight check and following procedures. They neglected to turn on their de-icer and used reverse thrust when DC had a blizzard. Care means responsibility and that includes being ready for adverse conditions.

Yup it seems the towers messed up the landing take off rotations but the pilot managed to avoid a disaster. I’ve been through that once, we were on a plane ready to take off, plane has already started the sprinting before taking off. Then we heard a loud screech as the plane instantly turned right and fled, that’s when we felt a strong wind pushing our plane and it tilted a bit. I was sitting on the left window and was SHOCKED to see a 4 engine gigantic plane swiped past above us. It’s pilot pulled the plane up a little bit which saved our lives because if he didn’t, the wing would crash through our plane and both would be destroyed. Later we met with the passengers from the other plane and enjoyed a fancy meal together provided by the airport. As for my flight? It was delayed by 1 day because our plane’s wheels were damaged from the tight break and turn, free fancy hotel provided by the airport though.

The pilot of emirates airlines plane is an angel..
That is the biggest and heavy passenger plane of the world and its impossible to control it in such situations like how he did.
    Salute to you sir...

Yes it's double deck, so he couldn't even take off, damn heavy.

They are also slow to react due to the wing span- so god respect.

That was the crappiest landing in the bunch. Pilot landed unstable still in a crab, then nearly lost control. He didn’t earn any respect, needs to go back for a lot more training. Lucky they didn’t lose that aircraft.

@@markg7963 Agreed. Over controlled kicking out of crab and got out of synch. Must have been a wild ride for passengers.

Most of landings were disturbed by wind.

Some idiots think that just because of crosswinds thousands are going to die. What about MCAS? Loss of elevators? That built in a330 ap flaw? They would've performed a go around or diversion if it was bad. My point is, there are much, much worse and more scary landings that could happen

      Quack
We don’t know the full pictures. ATC could have delay the landing and diverted many flights but some planes were low on fuel and had to make landing when the wind was lowest. MCAS wouldn’t be able to save the landing if they caught up on the wind stream just before touching ground like that and looking at it most of if not all were manual landing from this footage. Most of time they would’ve been diverted to other location as you said.
