So let me get this straight, they can force you to put a breathalyzer in your 500 dollar Ford Taurus but one doesn’t come standard on a 100 million dollar jumbo jet???
Russia has been behind America for 5-10 years in tech, fashion, military, computer science, etc. I guess you remember 2001, so what I want to say is security now is modern and every mistake is considered and they will never let it happen again
The wife of the co-pilot of the Boeing 737 flight, Riana Allaberdina, came to Perm from Ufa on September 14 for commemorative events. For the first five years after the tragedy, she flew to the capital of the Kama region every year. This year, the Allaberdins gathered here with almost the whole family. They maintain relationships with loved ones of other victims. And they still don’t believe the official version of the cause of the plane crash. Riana's husband Rustam Allaberdin, an experienced pilot, had a total flight time of more than nine thousand hours. “Basically, the investigation simply attributed everything to the “human factor”: insufficient training of crew members, the inability of the aircraft commander to correctly determine the direction of the roll, lack of spatial orientation,” Riana told 59, ru. - They also talked about the presence of alcohol in the blood of the ship’s commander. In general, we were not informed enough and were not allowed to listen to the flight recorders. The woman does not believe the version that commander Rodion Medvedev was drunk, since the entire crew is checked before the flight. “It’s always easier to blame the dead, but we also need to take into account the malfunctions of the aircraft. There were two defects, one of them was the repeated shutdown of the autothrottle in flight, which the crews of this ship constantly complained about, recalls Riana. - That night, the dispatcher sent the plane to make three turns before landing, which indicates an emergency situation on board and a malfunction of the airliner. Rustam wanted to become a pilot from first class, recalls Riana. He purposefully walked towards his goal, from his youth he was involved in parachuting, entered the Buguruslan Flight School, and graduated from the Ufa State Aviation Technical University. For many years I worked on flying hours on small planes, mastered English to improve my skills, relearned how to fly a Boeing in Moscow, and trained in Germany. “His son followed in his father’s footsteps; now he is studying at the Ulyanovsk Institute of Civil Aviation named after Chief Marshal of Aviation Bugaev to become an air traffic controller,” says Riana. - We fly on airplanes, despite the grief we have suffered. I think the plane is still the safest means of transportation. My daughter flies the most; she travels a lot. I would also like to add that the children were incorrectly accrued a pension from the Social Insurance Fund in Arkhangelsk, where Rustam was insured against accidents. The amount is quite large, we filed a lawsuit, but to no avail. They also confiscated the pilot’s book from us on receipt and said that they would return it in a month, but we never saw it. “My Olya was a force majeure girl” Vasily Kuchma speaks with pride about his Olenka, who was a flight attendant on the tragic flight. Support and hope for parents. She was 25 years old. - This year we will not be able to come to Perm. Now we live in Kostomuksha in Karelia. We came on the fifth anniversary of the disaster, in 2013. The wife called the relatives of flight attendant Yakovleva. We talked with the family of another Boeing passenger,” says Vasily Kuchma. - When I come to Perm to that place, it’s hard for me, there are a lot of memories. Vasily Kuchma speaks categorically about the causes of the tragedy - this is not a “human factor.” - There were many versions. We were there ourselves and saw the place where the plane fell. We do not agree with the official version,” emphasizes Vasily Kuchma. “Nobody really knows what was going on on board.” How is it that they flew and flew and fell? In the very first report immediately after the crash, the director of Aeroflot-Nord told the truth; I have never heard such a version anywhere else. He was asked about the reasons: was there a terrorist attack or was there no terrorist attack? He shrugged his shoulders and said: “You yourself understand, there is no crater from the impact, there is nothing.” There are not even fragments of chairs left... What does this mean? There was a factory there. I think it's like a plane being hijacked. The Boeing was heading to the factory. Why didn't they sit down right away? Allegedly, the pilot was drunk... People were too crazy to drink during the flight and not land the plane. The railway remained intact, no damage from the “impact”. Why? Only debris fell along the way. All poles and all wires are intact. If the plane had crashed, he would have collected all these pillars in a pile. Just fragments fell. There is a video recording from a camera from a nine-story building, which first shows the flash. What does this mean? The plane did not fall; they helped it fall. Source: 74,ru
I flew Aeroflot in the mid-90s. The flight was short and took place during the day. Still,. I was very concerned that my company had booked me on it. Luckily, the flight was routine, with a normal takeoff and landing. After watching this video, however, I guess I should be thankful that I survived.
In fact, it was not Aeroflot, as far as I remember it was a new subsidiary that was bought out. Aeroflot was certainly not ideal, but they did not have time to restore order there.
What a dumb comment. As though Aeroflot in general is unsafe. It isn’t. You sound like an ignorant American. What an adventuring pioneer you are, with your one Aeroflot flight.
Those are two of the best pilots working for Aeroflot Nord? I cringe to think who are the worst in this airline? No sterile cockpit environment, definitely attrocious cockpit resource management skills by the captain, add to that drunk like a skunk? I guess the worst ones working for Aeroflot Nord are flight school dropouts
Aeroflop has had this issue for years, and don't do anything to fix it. Russian pilots are some of the worst pilots in the world. I've heard plenty of conversations between Kennedy Steve and an Aeroflop plane, where it's glaringly obvious the captain had been drinking. The Soviets were awful planebuilders, and the Russians are no better. I'm rather glad they're not allowed in American airspace any longer.
I once went on an organized trip to Moscow and St. Petersburg. On the transfer from Moscow to Saint Petersburg the travel agency gave us the choice between traveling by train all night or flying in a Tupolev with Aeroflot. Out of 25 people, I was the only one who chose to fly. 😂
The FO should have taken over since the captain was clearly out of his mind. They were described as the best at this company aeroflot. I hate to see the worst!
@DaveMartinCanuck Yes typically since the captain has more experience, this is universal. But in cases like this, common sense should take effect because this was crazy. The FO was likely too shocked.
Flying in Russia must be such a thrilling experience... Feels like their pilots are always up to some crazy shit. From the pilot who killed everyone after letting their kids into the cockpit, to the drunk pilot in this video, or that other one where the pilot and the co-pilot made a bet they could land the plane without seeing anything outside and ended up killing almost 80% of the passengers... Seriously guys, easy up on the Vodka and treat aviation with respect.
As a thrill-seeking wingsuit flier, base jumper, and cave diver, I prefer to be a passenger aboard an aircraft piloted by drunks, purely for the adrenaline jolts I am bound to enjoy during such adventures aloft in the blue yonder.
Also, moments before SU821 took off for Perm on its fatal leg, a passenger texted her friend who lived in the U.K. She was concerned because she was concerned that the captain sounded drunk in his PA message. Turns out, she was right...
It’s not just Russian pilots that are drunk, a longtime flight attendant friend advised me years ago not to fly early am because some pilots were very hung over or still drunk. In America.
@TrollBot-r8f one of the passengers messaged her friend that she could smell liquor on the pilot, and she was worried about her safety when she told the flight attendant, but she assured her that nothing wrong
As a passenger. If there are any lights on the ground like this sim shows, you know when the plane isn't flying correctly. Might be able to sense it as well. These planes were wobbling all over the place and the passenger has nothing better to do than see and feel what's going on. As where pilots can be occupied with many things "or waisted" and become un aware.
WOW! I just noticed that you have over 1 million subscribers, that’s awesome! I remember when you first started, I’m glad to see you’ve become successful.
From a former airline pilot, you would be surprised at the language sometimes used in the cockpit .....but always off radio for anything one wouldn't say in front of Grandma, or doesn't want on an ATC recording :) Ex - I jump seated on British once. On pax announcements they used Received Pronunciation /RP English / "BBC" ..then in the off mike, oh boy. The lads had conversation that was, how to put it, rather locker room, and in quite another accent. "See the bird in 22C? Great ..." You get the point :) Great fun, and thanks again for the ride.
@@markn3936 I'm truly sorry, I don't follow. Peeing for "ping"? Well, as for pooing :) Not on my flight - Had a drunk on a long haul start wiping poo on the cabin wall when the stewardess cut off his alcohol :) Ah, no frequent flier miles for him was the least of his worries.
This channel used to be such a treat. The best of the best. I find it disingenuous to continue to upload old videos instead of stating that a break is needed, less videos can be made or the channel will no longer have new videos.
"Dear passengers, this is your captain Jack Daniels speaking. Me and my co-pilot Johnny Walker wish you a pleasant flight. We're currently at 30.000 ft and 4th in line for take-off! *Hick!* Our cabin crew will start serving complimentary vodka soon, if they left any for you lot hehehe". Worst pilots ever...
"Good evening, ladies and gentlemen. First Officer Douglas Richardson here. Just to let you know, we're making our final approach now into what I'm fairly sure is Fitton airfield. Unless it's a farm. Or just possibly the A45. It's not the sea, because that's blue. I should perhaps explain that Captain Crieff and I have a sportsmanlike little bet on today, about who can fly the best after drinking a litre of vodka through a straw. Captain went first - you may have noticed the takeoff run was a little bumpy, particularly over the golf course - and now it's me to land. Just as soon as I decide which of these two runways to aim for. And I'm happy to tell you that I feel lucky! So on behalf of all your crew today, may I just say...GERONIMO!!!!!" (From "Cabin Pressure" by John Finnemore)
An RAF pilot in Split, during the Bosnian war was standing with me, watching two Russian pilots in shorts and flip flops ambling out of their transport plane. He wryly commented: “Aeroflot; 15,000 rivets flying in close formation”.
@@stephen2d338 Bit of a strange assumption - I live in the UK and have no affiliations with the USSR (which, by the way, hasn't existed since 1991 - one year before the Bosnian War started and seventeen years before the disaster featured in this video. So I don't see the connection 🙄🤔). Maybe I offended your American sensibilities? 😥
It's astonishing how often in situations where the captain is about to crash the plane, the first officer grasps the situation but just lets it happen. I can't imagine why the fear of dying/instinct for self-preservation is not more powerful than the discomfort of standing up to the captain.
I was adopted from Russia from an alcoholic mother who drank during pregnancy and I'm an alcoholic/drug addoct myself. My sibling's also have had issues with it. Considering I think they classified beer as a soft drink one time, I could see drunk pilots being a thing there, unfortunately. I hope alcoholism and mental issies aren't as bad there but I could see it still being an issue there especially if poverty and poor living conditions are a thijg! I'm angry the captain actrd this way though, being an alkie is one thing but endangering so many lives is another thing. These preventable accidents are so sad knowing this didn't have to happen, the Captain could've maybe realized he had little rest and requested coverage or some kind of help. And not drank on the plane! What a depressinf example of why alcohol and machinery like this don't mix 😢
A go-around! He couldn't handle a mere go around with nothing wrong to the plane!? Spatial disorientation is part of his training! He can further practice on his flight simulator. This is unacceptable!
Honestly, yeah. I know the channel is going down into an unrecoverable stall at this point, but as someone who loves these kinds of videos, it's still a good refreshing time to watch the videos again sometimes.
@@davidpeters3857 I thought it might sound like sarcasm but I actually enjoyed seeing this again. It had been a while and forgot exactly how it played out.
This channel has not made any video on Japan Airlines Flight 123 disaster (12th August 1985) when it was also one of the greatest aviation disasters of all time! Not even about Avianca Flight 052 disaster... There are many more!
I flew in Russia and the Independent States. One flight in Khazakstan the pilots reeked of vodka as they walked by me. I thought it's only a short flight I should be Ok Lol.
No. He's reuploading because the channel has clearly been sold and the new creator is lazy. The original owner used to comment. Ain't been a comment from the channel in months since these reuploads started
Those who have not seen it can watch the original episode it is still available! Re-upload is only okay if there are new details or significant improvement in the simulation!
"right... so as soon as we join with this fracking marker we'll have to get this fracking gear down and all that shizznit" - sounds like acceptable cockpit resource management to me, I don' t know about all you guys but it's pretty clear to me what that captain wants to happen and the sequence he wants it to happen.
I think he was more hungover than intoxicated (which has similar effects on both speech and performance). Probably why no one smelled it on him and the copilot didn't figure it out. Would also explain the cranky attitude.

Yeah. The western one moves the horizon, and the Russian moves the aircraft .Thus when banking left, the western makes the Russian think he's banking right because the horizon is moving to the right compared to level. In truth, the Russian seems more intuitive. Because it show the aircraft banking left with regards to level. But once used to one or the other, it can be difficult to adapt in a high stress situation. Western pilots are just lucky they never really have to adapt to Russian.
Flight Channel has deteriorated in the quality of their videos. Look at the older video on this very plane crash disaster and one can see this is so. Not sure what has changed but there are other channels out there that now do a better job. It is a disappointment for sure.
"alcohol consumption also contributed to the accident"... you must be joking! the guy would not be able to stand upright - and he is flying the aircraft!

@@3BK235Y The full report states that the captain was being extremely rude towards the first officer and whilst on the approach would transfer all control of the aircraft to him when the first officer clearly had no idea what the captain was doing. This guy should have explained that better, his quality is going down.
Aeroflot was for many many years considered the worst airline in the world with a safety record so bad, that it was a standing joke, tho not so much a joke, that u needed to make sure to have ur life insurance up to date, if u had to fly Aeroflot. They inched away from the bottom of the list, but given how theyve been flying the last couple of years in stolen aircraft and no new spare parts, they should probably be in consideration for that undesirable rating again.

This is normal in Russia. It's actually really hard to crash a plane. A lot of bad things have to happen, not just being drunk. I flew on a plane once in Russia and the pilot literally came stomping in the plane with blue jeans on and a brown leather jacket. We were literally in the air 5 minutes later. No way he did a check list or anything like that. Was also the fastest most aggressive landing I ever experienced. Oh did I mention there were 3 holes in the back of the plane?
This channel has not made any video on Japan Airlines Flight 123 disaster (12th August 1985) when it was also one of the greatest aviation disasters of all time! Not even about Avianca Flight 052 disaster... There are many more!
2nd one .. Why the hell didn't they deviate to another airport .. flying around for 2 hrs hoping the weather gets better when they could have used that time to go elsewhere like the other flight did .
I haven't seen or read anybody complaining about this video! Obviously, it would make people angry if this was a re-uploaded video. I haven't watched this channel in a while. Have the re-uploaded videos stopped? I sure hope so!!

I think one of the contributing factors in this tragic situation is that the alerts were in English not Russian. The pilots didn't understand to pull up.

The Russian Attitude Display Indicator is a mirror image OPPOSITE of the ADI display used the world over, so any aircrew transitioning from the Russian ADI to the globally recognized ADI convention could roll the aircraft in the WRONG direction, especially at times when the workload is high, such as takeoff and landing. Even a stone-cold sober pilot could make this fatal error in an unfamiliar cockpit with its key flight instrument subject to misinterpretation.
I heard the original creator sold the channel. Now the new owner simply reuploads the same videos but in double or triple formats. In other words, the channel as we knew it is dead. We're better off looking for another one.
Got this in my recommended and as a Russian my first thought was: "I bet this sh*t happened here" and of course it did 🫤 I usually hate stereotypes but unfortunately they are sometimes proven right. A drunk pilot? Letting your son rule in the cockpit? Getting bored and making a bet that you'll land the plane without seeing the window view? Really, why not do it, it's not like you have 100 lives behind your back that fully depend on your actions...
You can hardly understand what they are saying. For crying out loud, ALL pilots from different countries, must learn the English language! They should have a good command of English to be able to communicate clearly. This pilot was awful. Poor people, they all lost their lives for having an inefficient captain. smh
What I get from these videos is that 90% of accidents could be avoided, it’s either pilot error, maintenance error or the airline trying to save money.
How much do you wanna bet that a police officer pulled the pilot over sometime during the day, found 10 half drunk beer bottles, and instead of detaining the pilot, drunk the other half of the 10😂😂

I flew Aeroflot in the mid-90s. The flight was short and took place during the day. Still,. I was very concerned that my company had booked me on it. Luckily, the flight was routine, with a normal takeoff and landing. After watching this video, however, I guess I should be thankful that I survived.
Yeah great sample size
In fact, it was not Aeroflot, as far as I remember it was a new subsidiary that was bought out. Aeroflot was certainly not ideal, but they did not have time to restore order there.

You have to know self defense when flying in a crew.
And the diference between Russian attitude indicator and the western (in that case the 737) one…. They work with inverted logic from one another

Another case of drunk crashers making us drunk drivers look bad.
How many times have this flight been done already?

Repeating yet again, this should now be called the Repeat Channel
Thankfully no more deadly or recent crashes to report……
I heard the original creator sold the channel. Now the new owner simply reuploads the same videos but in double or triple formats. In other words, the channel as we knew it is dead. We're better off looking for another one.
2 questions,
why isn't a breathalyzer obligatory for pilots and co pilots?
and would an autopilot save these 2 planes from the disaster?
is he back to himself again?
As a Russian, I'm more interested in whether the captain managed to finish his alcohol before the aircraft crashed.
Reupload just make me no want watch any video from this channel anymore
Got this in my recommended and as a Russian my first thought was: "I bet this sh*t happened here" and of course it did 🫤
I usually hate stereotypes but unfortunately they are sometimes proven right. A drunk pilot? Letting your son rule in the cockpit? Getting bored and making a bet that you'll land the plane without seeing the window view? Really, why not do it, it's not like you have 100 lives behind your back that fully depend on your actions...
Bank angle…. Bank angle… bank angle!!! 😱
Ill try spinning *hic* thats a good trick!
this sounds like something that would happen in russia.
You can hardly understand what they are saying. For crying out loud, ALL pilots from different countries, must learn the English language! They should have a good command of English to be able to communicate clearly.
This pilot was awful. Poor people, they all lost their lives for having an
inefficient captain. smh
I always seem to watch this sh!t before my next flight out of town, for some reason.
Flight channel has become a disastrous channel
even me on fs2020 i never had spatial disorientation wtf, there is instrumentation everywhere
You have to be in a full motion flight simulator.
8:17 Between September 14, 2008 and March 19, 2016 there are 7 years, 6 months and 5 days
was the plane you used a 738 with 735 screens? everything else is the same, can't find an image on google like that.
Couldn't they have used the autopilot to fly and land the aircraft?
In Russia, they pour some vodka in the plane fuel for good luck.
I can't read russian but I think I could figure out that I'm turning the plane upside down
I don’t understand why people play with their lives flying drunk. Don’t the pilots know that their own lives depend on their flying?
Makes you thinking that he already did that several times ...
Russia. That explains a lot.
VODKA!!!
All pilots in Russia are drunk in flight. This one just had too much to function.
As always, a cockpit crew which weren't monitoring the instruments!
The plane was flying like he was totally shnockered. He sure did swear a lot for a pilot.
What I get from these videos is that 90% of accidents could be avoided, it’s either pilot error, maintenance error or the airline trying to save money.
if the Russians can still release cockpit audio, the US should as well. Im sure they hide many important small factors in the typed transcripts.
I mean, not for nothin', but how can you even tell if someone speaking Russian sounds drunk
If Martin Scorsese directed a flight film.
How much do you wanna bet that a police officer pulled the pilot over sometime during the day, found 10 half drunk beer bottles, and instead of detaining the pilot, drunk the other half of the 10😂😂
