@@helzie74 Ya I need to know that too. I want to start doing that as well, so if you could reply to me and Helen's question, What equipment is needed (for the piano and computer(Obviously minus the piano))LOL:)
Yo I want to start writing a piece for your channel (I will likely submit for number 5 so I'm prepared) do I need a certain app? Just reply to this message with the info and you can possibly expect a submission from me.
I'm a beautiful pork cutlet bowl! I'M A BEAUTIFUL PORK CUTLET BOWL! well yea that's kinda working but actually it'll be very interesting to write one lol Imagine this Japanese chef. He is very dedicated to make a pork cutlet bowl. He studies for almost his whole life because his father promised to buy him a delicious pork cutlet bowl but his father got into an accident. He forget about all things and focused on making the world most delicious pork cutlet bowl. One day, he finally found the recipe to make the most delicious pork cutlet bowl. He is very satisfied with the final result and he want to enjoy his life for the first time again. He realised he doesn't have anything because he live his life for that one pork cutlet bowl (it maybe doesn't make any sense for you but yeaa try and guess what I mean by this chef and his pork cutlet bowl). LOL YOU KNOW WHAT? I'M DRAWING SOMETHING FROM THIS STORY ASAP LOLOL
Thank you Lionel for playing my piece, I can't really express my gratitude simply with words! I would never think that I am capable of being featured by you, let alone get featured with my FIRST EVER COMPOSITION. The other two compositions by Rhon and Rizal are so good, I can't choose between them; but if I were to choose from the three, I would have chosen among them two. What I feel about the two pieces: Winter Fantasy is a very fantas-tic piece to listen to, it really brings out the feel of winter; if you don't really enjoy it yet try to think of winter in your brain, the piece would sound a lot better. Kintab is such a calming piece, it's done so well technically as well; somehow I feel a little bit of Michael Shen "The Gentle Zephyr" vibes in it. And now begins my Ted-talk of what made this piece possible lol. It all started with episode 2 - Michael Shen, 13-year-old legendary composer, and Lionel who featured him. Although Awakening is my first ever composition, I have in fact done some (crappy) vocal arrangement beforehand. So I was like "hey a 13-year-old did that, maybe I could give it a try, won't end well but whatever; I mean I've done some vocal arrangements so that's at least a thing" and started writing. Perhaps I'm not good with looking for a melody, I ended up reusing one of my older ideas of trying to compose (which never happened, until, well Michael's inspiration). Fair point about Lionel saying that it isn't that original because it really isn't. But with my arrangement experience, I decided to stick with a singular motif and go from there. And then this piece existed. After that, I submitted this piece with my manuscript writing (what was I thinking at the time). I was so lucky that I made a slight demo of the "epic" part of the song, which made Zulaski (ep.1 fan pieces) interested in my song and say "hey you should probably make a digital version, Lionel won't read manuscripts", then begins my journey of Musescore composing. Without him I won't be here. Lionel gave a very nice arrangement to this piece (for those who don't know, he made adjustments to most of the pieces he played), and his choice of levitating octaves in some parts is truly amazing, along with so many subtle changes that turned out to be very good. He didn't just feature my song, he made it his own song. Major props to him for that! Finally, (I guess a bit of promotion is allowed?) So here is the original version of the piece: musescore.com/honey_beef/sonata-op-1-mvnt-3 (Musescore link). Feel free to leave a comment there as well! Don't forget to check out Lionel's unique rendition to the piece, link of the score is in the description. Here's a little hope of mine: all composers here, if you haven't yet, please join MusicalBasic's discord and submit a piece, link in the description. It really is a very good community to share your original pieces in. I personally entered the server only to submit the piece, only to find out that it's one of the best communities with very nice people giving you insightful feedback to your music. Oh and Michael Shen is such a legend, I think I should bring out the point again using a hashtag. #ShoutoutstoMichaelShen
I'll try to read through your comments although I might not be able to reply to everyone of them, but trust me, I'm reading through your valuable comments! Every single compliment or suggestion means a lot to me! (Editing on this comment instead of the other because I don't want to lose the heart lmao: I can't spell Rron's name correctly, I know it's only 4 letters, sorry Rron lmao)
@Alina Ting Thank you for enjoying my Ted-talk lol, but seriously did you read the whole thing through? If so, that's amazing, never expected that to happen lmao
I'm definitley biased to Rizals piece as well. A few years ago, a loved one of mine passed away. Lying on my bed, I can see the sky from my window. After grieving, I looked up at the night sky and could see millions of stars-- close and miles far. It was unreal! It lasted for a few seconds & felt like an out of body experience. So, yeah. When you read what Kintab meant, I was already crying. lol.
Hi, I connected with your comment. I had a few family members and a child die all within a couple years. I remember going home and laying in my bed, I didn't see the stars but I the whole window was framing a beautiful green bush with this rich red/pink petal flower. I would just lay there and watch it and listen to the rain. It was lovely and peaceful but sad. That moment came to me and reminds me of how I feel now looking back on that moment. I understand what Rizal means about having a hard time composing because he couldn't see the beauty in all the pain. I am a writer and for nearly 10 years after I could nolonger write. There was just nothing there. I made a study during that time, taking photographs that were kinda strange lol like me crying, but I was trying to figure out how to find the beauty of pain. That's what Rizal's piece and words remind me of. I have started writing again but I still struggle more than I ever did. I hope I can make beauty out of the pain that is this life. Anyhow, thanks for listening. Sorry to go on but thank you for your thoughts about what you went through.
@@rachellemeyer5823 So you're trying to turn the mud into gold. I understood what Rizal wanted to say in his piece, with the help of what you two said, so the meaning of seeing your whole past life through the stars and thinking about what they are saying, that we're all made of stardust and will become stardust again. I know this quotation and I love looking at the stars, to learn how our Universe is working. So you were seeing lucidly the life of your dearest again, as if you were half dreaming. I can now unterstand, why is Asriel Dreemurr throwing stars in his attacks of star blasing, if you know the videogame named undertale, made by Toby Fox, and in which the matching fight music of phase I is named "Hopes and Dreams". Looking at the stars can be comforting, making that you can more easily accept the situation, filling your heart and soul with new hopes and especially Determination ! I will share this piece with my parents. By hearing the music, I thought to write here, about imaginating being on the end of the current year or already on Januar, as you're looking at the stars. Don't you think the harmony in this music that gives hopes utters vibes of Christmas ? Another reason to put the snow blizzard attacks for the final boss of the last videogame I ever imaginated to make until now.
Also, this year, i'm working for my Frensh baccalaureate, because I'm in a frensh school, and at the beginning of the year, we should read the full book of the Princess of Clèves. It's a love story, that ends tragically because the protagonist was looking at her whole past life, like a philosopher in front of the dead. So she let herself pass the way, which wasn't a solution. It's the excipit of the book and also its third linear analysis.
(Spoiler alert)Thanks so much Lionel! I've never dared to think that my music would be shared in this fashion. Nor did I dare to think to win 1000$ lol. Honestly, if my channel grows to be pretty big, I'll have no one to thank but you. First you give us a discord to share our music and now you're sharing my music with the entire musicalbasics RUclips community. If these never existed, I wouldn't at all be able to share my music effectively. Honestly you're the best man. I hope your channel gets bigger and bigger because honestly you deserve it. To me, you care about your fans more than the average RUclipsr. Honestly, wish you the best. Again thank you so much and thank you all who enjoyed it! But Bruh I sound anitsocial as heck lol
Yeah, I get what you mean with the Your Lie in April. Hopefully you can find yourself in the piano moreso as time continues on. So instead of things being muffled you really hear your soul embedded in your songs It was a great piece so good luck in your future!
Winter Fantasy is honestly up there with the most beautiful pieces I've ever heard. Definitely gonna get the sheets so I can try to play it sometime. Congrats man!
Your piece gave me goosebumps, man. Genuinely so beautiful. I have a question: were you perhaps influenced by Rachmaninoff? Your piece gave me some Rachmaninoff-esc vibes.
The third piece made me cry I t reminded me of all the time I spent with my dad. He is currently in the hospital with COVID and double pneumonia. He has to stay on oxygen and can’t stand or sit up. This song made me think of all the happy and sad time I had with him. I really miss him and I hope he can come home soon. Edit: my dad is better now he has almost completely recovered from the pneumonia and the COVID is gone. Thank you for all your love and support it’s nice to know so many people care.
As much as people love the 3rd piece, I cried throughout the entirety of the second piece. My father was recently diagnosed with dementia, which has taken a toll on me. The man I've always known as my father is no longer here. The conflict between the happy memories and the tragic realities were beautifully shown throughout the second piece, and that the dance between life and death is one that forever lasts. The ending has an aura of never ending finality, that every beginning has an ending but every ending has a beginning. The piece spoke to all the joy I've ever experienced, as well as all the turmoil.
@@MusicalBasics Thank you for taking the time to respond, my father was just recently admitted into a nursing home. He's happy there, even if he doesn't remember much
The second peice reminds me of a couple dancing on an ice lake, but at the end, the ice cracks and they fall. A time-lapse shows the snow fall then melt then fall again. The camera turns up to face simple wooden crosses and the inscription "may you dance in death as you did in life"
That third piece made me feel so overwhelmed with emotions, it felt so comforting yet so raw, so sad. I kept remembering my papa and it made me cry so hard. It made me really feel what I heard, spectacular job R.M. Rizal for creating such a wonderful piece ♥️
1st Fan piece: almost made me tear 2nd fan piece: so long but worth it 3rd fan piece: it made me tear because of the melody and beautiful piece it has so much passion!!😍😭
As an artist, I know how it feels to be doubtful. About a year ago, I nearly gave up on my art entirely. I hated it. I thought I was getting worse. I saw no improvement. I went for months without touching a sketchbook. Finally, one of my friends convinced me to get back into the flow of things. I started drawing again. I started seeing some major improvements. I was happier, because I was back into my passion. So, to all you artists out there, don't give up. You are able. No matter how hard it gets or how bad it looks, it's beautiful. Because it's a piece of you. Stop comparing yourself to others. Don't try to be like others. Because you're not others. You'll never BE like others. You're you. And you're something to embrace. You are unique. Stop trying to change that. Be who you are, because you're beautiful. Everything you make is a beautiful piece of you. So don't give up. Keep fighting. You are capable of more than you realize, and what you make is beautiful.
The curse of being an artist is that it makes the creator blind. Other people's compositions and performances almost always sound better. Your own sounds flat, boring and imperfect. It's like, when I hear a piece I want to learn, that's the moment I have to save the feeling it evokes into your mind, because the day you have learned it, it feels dead. Especially to me who is slow learner. Same with composing. The first moments you improvise and/or write notes to the notation software, it sounds good, but it quickly fades and the more you try to improve it, the worse it sounds.
@@skinkken I can relate sooo much, I really just thought it was me and it's just horrible. These comments give me hope that I'll actually be something someday :)
Piece #1 by Honeybee: It felt as if that you were in a dark place but, you found something, something to reach forward, a light. Standing up proud, starting a new life, and in a new light. Smiling and finally feeling free from a dark cage. A story of a very strong person. Piece #2 by Rron Delos Santos: I imagined a man walking under a winter sunlight with his beloved. Smiles were formed as winter slowly dies out with a very emotional moment. A winter love story. Piece #3 by R M Rizal: The day ending with stars so bright as you dance away the night with a yellow light. A life story.
1st piece: i got goosebumps everywhere and even teared up a bit at the end. it feels lonesome yet powerful and passionate. it's incredible how that person just started composing 2 months ago. 2nd piece: it made me smile, was full of shiny snow crystals which created a magical atmosphere. i wanted to dance, like, have a ball in elsa's palace (lol), but i am alone there, dancing with snowflakes. 3rd piece: i liked that one the most. it wasn't crowded with notes, it was so pure and powerful. i could clearly imagine myself looking at the beautiful night sky and the stars looking back at me, talking to me. got goosebumps and teared up again, and a shaky sigh. it made me want to sit in front of my window and write poems under starlight, and that's what im going to do. thank you for the video and all the composers for these amazing pieces.
Whew, this video has been quite a journey. After I spent 2 months practicing and growing with each composition, I started to have a deep connection to each piece. I have some more final notes for the 3 composers, which I will share: Honey_Beef: As soon as I heard your piece I loved how structured your writing style is. I still can't believe you've only been composing for a short time, because you write with such structure and precision of a composer with many years experience. Some of the harmonies are simply gorgeous and the minute I heard your piece I knew it would be perfect to be the first piece of this episode. In the end I loved practicing your piece and all the emotions you managed to convey in just a short 3 minutes. I hope you don't mind that I made fun of your nickname in the video a few times, but I really do find it quite funny. Rron: As I have told you, your piece was the first one I selected. In fact, I had shortlisted it for episode 2, but at that time I already had lycoris radiata/gentle zephyr selected and so I needed a faster, shorter piece to open up the episode with. This time, even after I reviewed 150+ submissions I still couldn't forget about your piece. Honestly your piece is one of the best written pieces I've ever played. I know I gave it a 7 for playability but that's mainly because it definitely was harder than the other 2 pieces, and I had to give it a lower structure score because it was much longer as well. But your piece was the first piece I have ever given a perfect 10 on compositional theory as it truly showed exceptional composing skills on top of deep emotions. Rizal: Kintab is one of the most beautiful melodies I have ever heard in my life. I remember I was mindlessly listening to submissions and then pressed play on your MIDI-generated playback. At the time I think I was redditing and for the first time, a MIDI-playback caused me to stop and think "wow what am I listening to?" I think that shows how powerful your melody is, the part where the piece goes "staring at me" is such an incredible, pure melody that it grabbed my attention even with just a MIDI playback. And every day I practiced your piece I absolutely loved it because I felt like there is something deep within this melody that connected with my soul. That's why I said in the video that I wanted this piece to be played at my funeral because I truly do love it this much. Basically, Kintab is so good that it made me break my rule of not featuring the same composer for 2 episodes in a row  Congratulations to all 3 of you and thank you all for being part of this extremely special video :)
Just makes me wanna cry how there are so many talented composers out there and no matter how hard I try, piano just does NOT come easy to me 😂 I'm fascinated by classical music and love solo piano but I can't play anything near what I love. Then you got all these extremely talented people just making stuff like this!!! Super impressive, well done to all of the composers ❤
Things like learning an instrument take much time to get to a good level. Be patient and I'm sure you'll get where you want. The fact that it is more difficult to you than it is to others, doesn't mean you are incapable of achieving your goal. ❤
The third one had a story, had so much life and passion, it was as if the music itself was alive and had lived through adventures, beauty, love and regret. I'm not one for classical music, usually listen to ignorant trap music to be honest, but i felt that third piece connect to my soul. Truly beautiful.
I grew up in a place with grandparents who, whether they knew it or not, mentally and sometimes physically abused me. I was given no food for dinner if I told the smallest lies. I was put down if I got lower than an A-. They listened to (and still do) classical music very similar to this. This made me cry, made me resurface old memories filled with sorrow, fear and pain . . .
While hearing the 3rd piece I cried... I remembered all the great time I spent with my grandma, which passed away this December... The only thing I feel now is emptiness, and that's the worst, I'm not sad nor happy... 💔
I absolutely LOVED the third piece Kintab😍 I imagined it like this: 12:12 - you go out to look at the stars... to think... be in peace 12:41 - your life begins as a baby. It starts beautiful and piece full... you don’t have to worry about anything. 13:10 - you grow up to a toddler. You get to learn, have fun and you get experience. 13:59 - you are now at the start of your teenage years... you need to make decisions and be more grown up, but still need to have fun and be chaotic. 14:48 - your life finally makes sense as a young adult. 14:55 - you get the family you have always wanted. You have found your soulmate and your getting to see your kids grow up... there are ups and downs, but you’re always happy. 15:52 - your kids have moved away, you are so happy for them, and they still comes and visits you and your husband. You’re getting retired and you are happier than ever. 16:08 - now your back... back under the stars... you’ve seen your entire life flash before your eyes... and you are ready... you have said your goodbyes, and you know that your family will go on, even if your not there. 16:29 - the grass under you is like the softest pillow ever, and the night sky is ready to add you to it’s beautiful painting. The last breath is everything. Suddenly you don’t have anything else than happiness and joy in you... If anyone actually took their time to read all of this... thank you! I really love this melody, and I will legit listen to it so often from now on!
it’s interesting because your comment is gorgeously written but also fits the ~vibe~ of the song perfectly. i read through it while i was listening (the second time) and everything just seemed to fit. it’s interesting as well because that’s not how i imagined it, at all. the beginning is fairly the same but the song (instead of being your life) is a fluctuation of your wonder and your melancholy. the stars are so beautiful tonight, and the sky is the gentle love that once beckoned icarus to it. your entire life is ahead of you. “come,” they seem to say, “look at what you can do. look at what you become.” the world seems to sigh and it’s just you and the starry sea above you. “this lies ahead of you.” a strange feeling takes up your chest. the next breath rattles through you. it feels like mourning. this feels like regret. there is so much ahead of you and so much you will do but is it enough? when it is all done and over, have you done enough? been enough? loved enough? your young bones have the future laid out ahead of them and you cannot help but feel sorrow. you know this is the beginning but you cannot help but think it is too late. the breeze wraps around you in a hug. the stars twinkle as though winking, joyous with some secret you are not old enough to know the answer to - “oh little one, do not fret. there is so much you will be.” they laugh a timeless tune and they are young, they are ageless. there is no end and though you feel small looking out at the vision of greatness, you can hear the voices all the same. “we are waiting,” they whisper. “take your time. you have your whole life ahead of you. it is already over. we are here.” the melancholy steeps into your skin gently, like a tea bag diffusing slowly into water. it will be over far too soon, but at least it will have been. it’s strange, because you have not necessarily felt hope tonight but you rest assured that the night will still be there. after all, they are waiting. you are just here for the time being. take a breath. the world lingers behind.
Him: Plays 3 realty hard pieces that he practiced for 2 months Me: plays jingle bells that I practiced for 2 months and still haven’t mastered it. Here is a cookie for reading my comment. 🍪
Ahem you forgot he practiced it straight also he is a pro at it. Atleast you tried and taken rests so be proud of yourself cause i never touched a instrument in my life
I'm actually from the Philippines and "Kintab" actually brought tears to my eyes, the meaning that the piece was trying to portray struck me at a whole new level, it was magical and emotional It was honestly so beautiful that my mind made a whole story in depth as I listen to the piece, as a fellow Filipino, I couldn't be more proud, I'm glad this came to my recommendations
The first two measures of this one remind me of “believe” from the polar express, but it’s a Christmas movie and the song is about summer so I can’t help thinking about winter. Regardless “believe” has an amazing melody and it’s just nostalgic.
I feel Michael Shen was a inspiration to many people around the world, me included. I am jealous of them but yet they are the person I look up to. Being the same age as them makes me want to try even harder.
Semi live updates: -First one is good so far -Just finished the first one, it wasn't bad, I enjoyed it. -Second one started, I'm loving this -Melody picked up, oh my God I'm ded -Melody came back up and I'm finding myself in tears. I hadn't realized I was crying -Just replayed the part, it starts around 8:17. I don't know why but it's killing me in the best ways possible. Everyone is crying for the third piece. If this makes me cry this much, I'm almost scared to get to the third one. -Starting the third one. I've always been more on the colder, sadder sides of music, so the hopeful sarrow this portrays so far isn't hitting to hard. Very pretty though. -After the pause. I'm starting to see now. -The up and downs began. Those are my favorite in music. I have raised my volume. -Second paused. The music has majorly picked up rather quickly once again. I'm not sure why, but it reminds me of The Promised Neverland. So far I have yet to cry -Third piece ended. I didn't cry. I'm playing it again, this time without ANY distraction -I could note resist reading the words on the screen. I do believe they influenced my emotions. However, I did cry. A lot. What got me the most was the smaller text saying something similar to "the stars tell me I am made from star dust". When I was younger, I always believed we where stars that fell from the sky. I believed that once we die, we return back to the Earth physically, but mentally and in terms of energy, we return to the stars where we belong. The stars saying we are made of stardust reminded me of this. It is a tough choice, but I would choose two over three, mainly because it made me cry even without reading the screens dialog and with me giving textual updates. The third piece came close, but it took me a bit to get into it. The third piece definitely hits very close, this is a hard choice, but I do believe I'd choose 2. -2 won.
"I believed we were stars" YES WE ARE! (at least according to astronomers) Long story short: there are only a few elements at the beginning of the universe, after fusion in the stars some more were made (eg: carbon, iron) and the explosions of the first stars created the rest, that were much rarer (eg: gold). The solar system, including all life forms in earth are composed of them. So, technically, yes, and I remember an old documentary even said explicitly "we are children of stars" or something like that.
My favorite is Awakening by HoneyBeef, the pieces really show the hope and determination to become success in the future even you're orphan, still you can do whatever you what. It's also suitable for anime movies 😍. Second piece, Winter Fantasy reminds me to Disney Princess Theme but in epic way 😆. Last piece, Kintab, looks like it have a deep meaning and story that cannot easily describe. Looking at the star, same as looking at our future, can we become as bright as them in the darkness 😌. Very nice and talented. Also it's such a good content to show up more talented composer like this🤩. Thank you for your hardwork 💖
The third piece sounded like it was telling me everything is going to be okay - I needed that… It was like a rollercoaster of ups and downs but everytime I went down, the melody brings me back up Keep my head up, keep moving forward, better days are on the way Pain isn’t eternal. We’ll die, we’ll join the stars and shine as bright as them.
I connected most with the 3rd myself, the one that was seeing your life in the stars “Kintab” but it seemed like the 2nd person(whom I liked their piece as well) who actually won the universe was taking care of him as he needed a boost in his confidence and he’s so good congratulations! Love what you said towards the end and now I don’t feel weird about saying I hit teary-eyed when listening to the 1st episode I watched of yours and now I’m binge watching you!
Kintab made me tear up, and I haven't gotten goosebumps like this in years. Rizal, that is one incredible piece, and you are an even more incredible composer.
Winter Fantasy was so beautiful. Not only did it show the beauty and horror of the season, but it did so without dividing them. It, through the full song, sounded hauntingly beautiful. Horrifyingly brilliant. Words don't do it justice.
I, as well teared up listening to Rizal's piece. I began to imagine myself reliving major events in my life as if I was a ghost watching myself. It brought back alot of good memories.
The 3rd piece was my favorite, it made me reflect on life. I saw myself fighting time, it was just amazing. We need more composers that express such emotions in a simple piece.
Oh man..... I'm Filipino... And at my hometown, we don't see stars in the sky and the first time I saw stars was when we went to baguio... That just.... Nostalgia and the title kintab also means shine and it felt like I saw the shine again.... I literally cried....
Whippp_ TheBear oh. Well here in Roxas City, we’re surrounded by the sound of the rushing water of the open ocean, and the clear dark sky. Stars would be splattered on it, like a canvas. Hmm.. it’s pretty interesting how you can’t see it... I wonder why. Well, I’m going to look into this now.
Yo; kintab actually just set me to tears; I've be thrown between joy, peace, warmth and sorrow. I honestly think that was the most beautiful piece I've ever heard. All of those pieces were absolutely beautiful, and all of the composers are extremely gifted!
I’ve got that not-fun depression that makes most of my emotions just kinda dead and so muted that they feel insignificant, but Rizal’s peace made me feel understood and loved on a cosmic level. And for that I am extremely thankful to both you and Rizal. I hope you are doing well
I have the same kind of depression. It’s definitely hard cause you’re just.......there. Music sometimes makes me feel things but Rizals piece just hit me. Along with the first piece mostly.
Michael Shen has earned my subscription. He doesn't know how many poems (I'm a poet) he has inspired with his song "The Gentle Zephyr" and he also inspired the 1st piece in this video. He should be so proud of himself.
Personally I really enjoyed the first piece a lot because I could really imagine what was happening and could see a young orphan going through life with some ups and downs but at the end finally accomplishing their goal, all the peices were great, but I would have to say the first peice is my absolute personal favorite 🤩
The third piece makes me think fondly of the atypical and beautiful nature of stars. The mysterious wonder they produce in our hearts. The longing of reaching out to infinity and knowing you’re not alone in the sky. There are other things out in the cosmos for us to explore one day. Makes me smile, and remember the times when I could sit and recollect without consequence. Very beautiful :)
My brother was playing Winter Fantasy on his phone, and I told it was the best piece I've ever heard and asked him who wrote it expecting someone famous
The first one was emotional but showed frustration, passion and longing. I felt like I was watching the orphan from afar and couldn't say or do anything to help. The second one made me feel like I was floating on water and the snow was falling on me in such a way the water around me started to freeze and i became stuck, frozen. But at the same time I was in utter awe by the surroundings I couldn't think. The third one took me on a journey through my memories and it felt as though they were being magically reshaped and the perspective was changing. I could see all the angles. But in the end it didnt matter and I just returned to my original state but at the same time my eyes were saying otherwise.
Im happy to see the third piece, because here in the Philippines there are only few people who appreciate classical music they love pop songs so yeah. Proud to be A Filipino
Most people only listen to pop because of relevancy, most classical music sounds much better. Most kids are brought up thinking classical music was what the stupid old men listen to and don't want any part of it
Winters fantasy is like a persons life portrayed, it starts slow, gets complex midway yet shows the beauty of life, and again ends with a slow peaceful death
The third one........just brings something out of you that you didn’t know you had. I feel like words can’t even describe or it would take a full book to express the wonder and kinda loneliness it made me feel. Definitely inspirational.
This is the best of your project “Play My Fan’s Pieces”! Thank you for putting so much efforts on this video! All three pieces are beautiful and meaningful! Tears in my eye when I listened to them! So emotional so deep so touching so beautiful! This video shows that Lionel you are the great producer with incredible talent of visual art, editing, and coordinating! You are also so generous to award the winner with $1000! Congratulations to you and to the winner and to all three amazing composers!
I thought Rron's piece was the best; it features the most interesting variety in harmony and texture while still being comprehensible and having a great melody.
All three of these pieces were absolutely phenomenal, but my favorite is a tie between Rron's and Rizal's. Rron's "Winter Fantasy" was so melodious and deep, and I'm a big sucker for slow music. As for Rizal's "Kintab", its story and music worked hand in hand so well, and it had such a beautiful concept so much passion. I just can't decide between them. Props to Rron for winning, btw.
As a child who was once a orphan, @honey_beef song truly struck home. I felt the determination and the sadness mixed into on song. It reminds me of when I realized i was no longer a orphan and that there is a family who loves my dearly. I would love to find a place where this song is released/streamable. I literally am in love with it.
The inverse would be saying 'a child without any parents', which people would reply with, 'so an orphan?' It is better to be redundant than to assume prior knowledge in this scenario.
A child can be put in custody of their grandparents or a family member of their parents die. But if they have no suitable relatives, then they are an orphan. (I don't know a whole much about the matter tho so idk if they're still called an orphan even under their family member's care)
Congrats fellow Pinoy! I want you to know that your piece was definitely something special. The timing was perfect as well since it was at night time when I listened to it. Anyways I wish you the best in your future and I'll have you know that your music has definitely inspired many others and touched peoples hearts very very deeply keep it up!
I don't see how you could choose between these pieces 😂 They were all amazing but I think my favorite would be between Rizal's and Rron's. I still don't know if I'd be able to choose. All three did an amazing job!
I wasn't able to, which is why I had to create a weird scoring system and enlisted 2 more judges to help! Thanks Jacob, I'm glad you enjoyed every piece!
kintab evoked something so vivid but so gentle in me that it’s been 2 days and i am not sure i am the same. i’ve seen a bunch of “this made me think of -“ type comments, so here is my interpretation of how it made me feel. (i felt it as a fluctuation of wonder and melancholy.) the stars are so beautiful tonight, and the sky is the gentle love that once beckoned icarus to it. your entire life is ahead of you.
The third piece made me tear up, I was imagining a world that was about to end and two lovers are sitting on top of a hill and watching it and saying their last goodbyes
The third one makes me feel like I'm reminiscing about the memories I have with someone I lost or are not with me anymore. I feel the happy moments, the sad and the frustrating but I feel joy in remembering as a whole
Each fan piece to has a meaning and that takes so much talent to put a meaning into a song. When I watched the first fan piece video I already played piano but I never thought about writing a sheet until then, all of the fan pieces and other Artist inspired me to write music sheets so thank you piano artist.
I personally can’t decide which beautiful piece is my favorite, but I was deeply moved by every single piece written here! From a cold sorrow feeling to a brave mighty roar and to being warmly comforted by the soft sensation that drift me away in my thoughts and fantasy’s! They all made me sleepy, light and loosely relaxed by every note, chord played in all pieces. It was like being in the moment as if the piano itself was speaking its own tale! A good and bad side, pure and not so pure, deep and light, every one of these pieces are so mesmerizing! I even felt myself twitching when drifting off in my mind and dreams because it was like dragging me in! Sorry that this is too long but this is just amazing and very beautiful ☺️😌

Kintab is the only piece everrrr to make me cry.

Thank you for sharing your story! Please take care well of your father!

u can't deny the fact that this 3 pieces are all beautiful and unique.

Whew, this video has been quite a journey. After I spent 2 months practicing and growing with each composition, I started to have a deep connection to each piece. I have some more final notes for the 3 composers, which I will share:
Honey_Beef: As soon as I heard your piece I loved how structured your writing style is.
Basically, Kintab is so good that it made me break my rule of not featuring the same composer for 2 episodes in a row
Congratulations to all 3 of you and thank you all for being part of this extremely special video :)

I absolutely LOVED the third piece Kintab😍
I imagined it like this:
12:12 - you go out to look at the stars... to think... be in peace
12:41 - your life begins as a baby.
“this lies ahead of you.”
a strange feeling takes up your chest. the next breath rattles through you. it feels like mourning. this feels like regret. there is so much ahead of you and so much you will do but is it enough? when it is all done and over, have you done enough? been enough? loved enough? your young bones have the future laid out ahead of them and you cannot help but feel sorrow. you know this is the beginning but you cannot help but think it is too late.
the breeze wraps around you in a hug. the stars twinkle as though winking, joyous with some secret you are not old enough to know the answer to - “oh little one, do not fret. there is so much you will be.” they laugh a timeless tune and they are young, they are ageless. there is no end and though you feel small looking out at the vision of greatness, you can hear the voices all the same.
“we are waiting,” they whisper. “take your time. you have your whole life ahead of you. it is already over. we are here.”
the melancholy steeps into your skin gently, like a tea bag diffusing slowly into water. it will be over far too soon, but at least it will have been. it’s strange, because you have not necessarily felt hope tonight but you rest assured that the night will still be there. after all, they are waiting. you are just here for the time being.
take a breath. the world lingers behind.

I'm actually from the Philippines and "Kintab" actually brought tears to my eyes, the meaning that the piece was trying to portray struck me at a whole new level, it was magical and emotional
It was honestly so beautiful that my mind made a whole story in depth as I listen to the piece, as a fellow Filipino, I couldn't be more proud, I'm glad this came to my recommendations
The first two measures of this one remind me of “believe” from the polar express, but it’s a Christmas movie and the song is about summer so I can’t help thinking about winter. Regardless “believe” has an amazing melody and it’s just nostalgic.
Yes, I heard that music I am pilipino btw

Semi live updates:
-First one is good so far
-Just finished the first one, it wasn't bad, I enjoyed it.
-Second one started, I'm loving this
-Melody picked up, oh my God I'm ded
-Melody came back up and I'm finding myself in tears. I hadn't realized I was crying
-Just replayed the part, it starts around 8:17.
So far I have yet to cry
-Third piece ended. I didn't cry. I'm playing it again, this time without ANY distraction
-I could note resist reading the words on the screen.
-2 won.
"I believed we were stars"
YES WE ARE! (at least according to astronomers)
Long story short: there are only a few elements at the beginning of the universe, after fusion in the stars some more were made (eg: carbon, iron) and the explosions of the first stars created the rest, that were much rarer (eg: gold). The solar system, including all life forms in earth are composed of them. So, technically, yes, and I remember an old documentary even said explicitly "we are children of stars" or something like that.
The third piece felt as though someone was wrapping their arms around me and telling me it's going to be alright
absolutely gorgeous i cant even
The second piece sounds like if Ballade no. 1 and Liebestraum had a baby.
Yes and it is beautiful
Also a bit of Claire de lune because of the long arpeggios and 7th chords
Sounds like a score from Snow White.
You read my mind
I just finished piece 1 but your description was great to prepare me for a piece that sounds like it will be beautiful

The third piece sounded like it was telling me everything is going to be okay - I needed that…
It was like a rollercoaster of ups and downs but everytime I went down, the melody brings me back up
Keep my head up, keep moving forward, better days are on the way
Pain isn’t eternal. We’ll die, we’ll join the stars and shine as bright as them.
The third piece, “Kintab”, or “Luster”, moved me to tears somehow. I find it so beautiful, thank you for making such a lovely composition, Rizal ♡
I was moved to tears at some point as well I really enjoyed the originality and the relatability.

"'And to stardust you will return'"
The music got me but that line.... Tears.
The last one literally gave me la la land, howls moving castle, inside out, and signs of affection- paul C vibes all in one
Kintab made me tear up, and I haven't gotten goosebumps like this in years. Rizal, that is one incredible piece, and you are an even more incredible composer.
Totally agree! We'll be hearing from Rizal in the future❤️
2nd piece was better imo

Winter Fantasy was so beautiful. Not only did it show the beauty and horror of the season, but it did so without dividing them. It, through the full song, sounded hauntingly beautiful. Horrifyingly brilliant. Words don't do it justice.
Why is no one saying anything about awakening? That was my favorite piece. I loved it so much! But otherwise congratulations to all composers!
Thanks for your compliment!
Of course! Amazing work!
Ikr Awakening was so good
I, as well teared up listening to Rizal's piece.
Oh damn. I’m Filipino too... except in my hometown I see the stars all the time. Can you not see the stars due to the buildings or something else?
@@BigFanOfCocks nah, we rarely see them here, at bulacan :))

Hmm.. it’s pretty interesting how you can’t see it... I wonder why. Well, I’m going to look into this now.
Whippp_ TheBear also, why are you awake at 12 AM? Get some rest.

Proud 🥲 in the 3rd piece. Almost made me cry, shout out to this filipino composer🇵🇭Mabuhay!!

Listen to Rachmaninov piano concertos for some really famous music in that genre. Especially no.2 and no.3.
Music is art, and art is subjective. A piece doesn’t have to be written by some famous composer for you to like it, or for it to hit you emotionally
Bob Joe I agree in principle, but I subjectively have been more moved by Rachmaninov in this case.
Most kids are brought up thinking classical music was what the stupid old men listen to and don't want any part of it
#3 is just amazing. Im only half way through it and its already my favorite. Just beautiful.

I thought Rron's piece was the best; it features the most interesting variety in harmony and texture while still being comprehensible and having a great melody.

I prefer the 3rd one, since it's so Soul touching and emotional
All three of these pieces were absolutely phenomenal, but my favorite is a tie between Rron's and Rizal's. Rron's "Winter Fantasy" was so melodious and deep, and I'm a big sucker for slow music. As for Rizal's "Kintab", its story and music worked hand in hand so well, and it had such a beautiful concept so much passion. I just can't decide between them. Props to Rron for winning, btw.
Oh wow the piece by Rizal is so beautiful. I just cried at 13:36 because it overwhelms you with pure feeling !

Filipino style right there bud
The first song made me miss somebody that I don’t even know
I think it meant their parent died as an orphan can have biological parents alive just unwanted, I think atleast?
As a child who was once a orphan, @honey_beef song truly struck home. I felt the determination and the sadness mixed into on song. It reminds me of when I realized i was no longer a orphan and that there is a family who loves my dearly.
I would love to find a place where this song is released/streamable. I literally am in love with it.
I'm so glad you connected with my piece. Also, thanks for sharing your story! I'm currently speechless.
An orphan who lost his parents, isn’t that the whole point of an orphan?
I imagine being given up at birth is very different to losing your parents.
The inverse would be saying 'a child without any parents', which people would reply with, 'so an orphan?'
It is better to be redundant than to assume prior knowledge in this scenario.
That's what I was thinking too 😂
I believe what they meant was a child who lost his parents and became an orphan? I dont know?
A child can be put in custody of their grandparents or a family member of their parents die. But if they have no suitable relatives, then they are an orphan.
(I don't know a whole much about the matter tho so idk if they're still called an orphan even under their family member's care)

kintab evoked something so vivid but so gentle in me that it’s been 2 days and i am not sure i am the same. i’ve seen a bunch of “this made me think of -“ type comments, so here is my interpretation of how it made me feel.
(i felt it as a fluctuation of wonder and melancholy.)
the stars are so beautiful tonight, and the sky is the gentle love that once beckoned icarus to it. your entire life is ahead of you.

Kintab made me cry. Such a pure, innocent, sweet, whimsical, hopeful, peaceful piece. I dont have the words to describe my love for that piece.
The editing at the beginning nearly gave me whiplash.
