It's the same concept as randomly humming something to yourself when you are bored. I'd imagine most people hum to themselves occasionally something they've never heard. Now just imagine taking what you hear when humming or what you hear in your head when day dreaming and putting it on your instrument. That's how people do it, that's how he does it in this video. That's how many other songwriters do it.
I love how energetic You are when playing the piano. Many piano Players have a death stare look when playing the piano. You just sing along with it with a smile on your face, your amazing.

It’s not uncommon, I’m a film major, and I sometimes get inspired to write a script based off a song. It a fun creative experiment that you should try!
@@AvaSun-yo2wy oh.... well, this is a video of him composing 5 pieces in different amounts of time. >__> I just didn't understand your confusion for a minute my bad-
I spent five years on-and-off writing a book only to be told (from a fellow anime fan who had no idea I was writing at all) "hey have you watched Sword Art Online?" _I had written SAO_ *All over.* Main character was even dressed in black robe, had a blue sword and was stuck in a game. I had never seen anything related to it at all. One of the points when I hated life the most.
@@SpiralPegasus I mean, let's be fair. This was the first draft of your first book. It was never going to be more than practice writing. Practice writing isn't a bad thing. For 15 years I have participated in Nanowrimo. I have finished several of my first drafts and attempted to publish 0 of them. :) It's only now, literally millions of words of practice writing into the game, that I feel like I understand writing and am talented enough with the written word to complete a novel worthy of publication and reading by a mass audience. Don't be depressed that you practised the craft of writing. One of my novels is also about people stuck in a game. There's tons of ways to take it in the redraft that will separate it from SAO, or, you'll work on a new novel and like it better because you've grown due to your experience writing this one! For a game about a VR entrapment, as long as the ending is different, the progression through the game is different, and the motivation of the villain and hero is different, it won't matter if the setting is the same concept. SAO isn't the only story about VR. Tad Williams has a damn brilliant book series that's more or less about people getting trapped in VR... and a lot of other things going on too. It's the "other stuff" that doesn't make me go "aww this is just Otherland" when I watched SAO. Prefer another anime comparison? SAO is really just the Greed Island arc from Hunter x Hunter too... but the different characters and game mechanics make them stand out as very different anime. The characters and everything surrounding them are If you love what you wrote, edit it to be a bit different in the redraft. You were always going to have to rewrite it. No one's first draft of their first novel's going to stick, it's just a foundation. Maybe you love the character you made. Great, SAO doesn't own black robes and blue swords. Give your protagonist a different hair style, different name. Maybe your video game was indeed a multi-levelled challenge where you die in real life if you ever die in game. You could change the feeling of the stakes by having characters not know how far the game goes, not know what happens after death... just that they appear to have logged out. You could give them access to the real world, working via a crack to the internet with the police to try capture their captor before it's too late, all the while convincing players to hold back and stay in safe zones. It could still be a multi levelled game, but the challenges come from more than just climbing the tier. Fool with your mechanisms, morality, and specific characters if they cross over too strongly. You can use the premise still, and likely even your protagonist, if you make sure they're surrounded in something new and refreshing. Just watch or read some of the media about people stuck in games. You'll come up with something to rework it if you try, and if you don't, well, don't be too depressed, you tried to write a novel, you will have learned something from it, your next try will be better. You can always share it on a fanfic site as 'that time I accidentally wrote SOA before ever watching it'. Merely starting to write was part of your battle that some people can never overcome and five years of practice isn't peanuts, so don't stop now! You're just reaching the point where your writing might actually start turning out good! Push through the sadness! Write more stories!
@@SpiralPegasus I for one liked the ideas of SAO but hated the execution of it. Too many non-writers think that because the surface appears the same, two similar stories are identical copies. There's no such thing as 'owning' an idea. As for your story, if your goal is to write for yourself, there's no reason to stop- you can even read SAO to see what alternate choices can be made. And if you want to write for others, having it be similar to SAO brings intertextuality, which is a good thing. It's like having someone else do writing the boring parts for you.
@@calthyechild tbh bro my brain cells r so strong that my body wanted to read what u wrote, but brain decided to make me stop after the first paragraph....
@@SpiralPegasus to be fair SAO is an ecchi rip off of the dot hack franchise so it's not as if SAO is very original in its own right. You can tweak certain aspects and make it more unique.

We have this shop called Aldi in Australia and it just has a bunch of random stuff and my brother just decided to buy an electronic keyboard. You just really inspired me and I don't think you should ever give up.🙂 From your biggest fan, Tatiana😃
My dude really made a good anime opening for an anime that doesn’t exist but the idea of a main character having to hid in the shadows for so long and finally have the courage to overcome there fear to fight back is such a good plot for an anime it’s brilliant and I would 10/10 watch the anime because it sounds so good💕
I had an idea for the living in the shadows opening that could be like an OP 1 and Fight for Freedom could be an OP 2 like because if the main character thought of fighting back this could be a perfect OP for that season💕

I'm not a music genius but my favourite was the 30 second one. There's a section in the 1 hour one that reminded me of One Direction's Best Song Ever. While the 5 hour one reminded me of Smile's Butterfly. Probably because of the key used. Overall, you're one hell of a talented composer.
Ye but he actually works hard And you are just playing among us all day and watching attack on titan at the same time Like it or not i am spitting true fax
Anybody can become an expert if they apply themselves. I've seen people play pieces like this who had no hands at all. All it takes is some determination and hours and hours and hours of practice, as this man has clearly done himself. He LIVES Composition and Piano; He has acoustic foam, a Shure SM7B (A $400 Dynamic mic), Bass traps Has an XLR cable visible in the background, a Beautiful Keyboard/Piano, and more. The only thing missing here is good lighting in some shots, and his camera has a lot of motion blur due to improper lighting of the scene. His camera gets over-exposed, and the White balance is off. His lights are very high Kelvin, so it gives everything a blueshift, But his audio is his craft.
I would say, if he would have looked onto the clock more carefully, he would have in the last 10 secs not written new parts but just copy pasted the beat.
I do TBH. I came here to see what he’d do in an hour, not what he’d spend an hour starting then finish later with help from his friend. I have mad respect for his skills either way, but the repeated “cheating” makes it feel more like he’s just desperate to cover up his mistakes. When you write music with a strict time limit, it’s going to have issues. I don’t get why he wouldn’t embrace them, because that’s what’s so interesting about the time limit concept - not every goal is met, so you have the perfect chance to go over what worked and what didn’t, and how you could improve it.
Depends on what tho. Maybe some people actually wanted pieces with a strict time limit. Or in other situations like tests and pointless stuff that just makes you look better than someone else. Doesn't look like it would affect anyone but you need to see from their perspective
on the contrary, I love watching what develops given different time constraints, and how the brain can develop different levels of intricacy, and moreover, tone, like in the 30 second one: despite being the most rushed, it had my favorite vibe of them all. I think doing something where he builds off of the shorter ones to finish them would be cool.

You had me at your 2 minutes anime opening! Wow! I love the fact that you are obviously having fun while doing this! I subscribed after watching your Beethoven's 5th video. Loving what you do!
The percentage of people subscribed to you in comparison to views is horrible. You deserve way more than that low percentage for the amazing content you give us!
That's because his content is being recommended by RUclips, and not being searched. This happens to many channels and almost every channel that is "recommend-bombed" shows a screenshot of their subscribed to not subscribed ratio. I liked this video but I won't be subscribing, simply because this is not the content I'd like to consume on a regular basis. I just watch my subscriptions and whenever I'm bored I let the RUclips algorithm guide me. It makes for some very funny comments. Cheers.
Everyone else: That's some deep music, I love the chords on the left hand in the hour-long anime opening, especially the way that there are multiple times when the phrase ends in a cutoff, resulting in a clean minute and thirty second opening... Me: Haha pretty lights go brr
The one hour one was so good I dropped my iced tea and almost cried. I could never write something half that good ever, let alone in a hour! Great job! I honestly want that to play at my funeral.

I honestly don’t get how someone can write music that quickly
It's the same concept as randomly humming something to yourself when you are bored. I'd imagine most people hum to themselves occasionally something they've never heard. Now just imagine taking what you hear when humming or what you hear in your head when day dreaming and putting it on your instrument. That's how people do it, that's how he does it in this video. I just didn't understand your confusion for a minute my bad-
imagine writing a whole song only to be copyright claimed from a song you've never heard of in your entire life
I spent five years on-and-off writing a book only to be told (from a fellow anime fan who had no idea I was writing at all) "hey have you watched Sword Art Online?"
_I had written SAO_
*All over.* Main character was even dressed in black robe, had a blue sword and was stuck in a game.
The characters and everything surrounding them are
If you love what you wrote, edit it to be a bit different in the redraft.

He might not have sources yet
You have no idea how hard this made me laugh.
In reality I don’t think anyone cares if you cheat, at least I don’t.
At least you don't chest yourself your friends
Depends on what tho. Maybe some people actually wanted pieces with a strict time limit. Or in other situations like tests and pointless stuff that just makes you look better than someone else. Doesn't look like it would affect anyone but you need to see from their perspective
on the contrary, I love watching what develops given different time constraints, and how the brain can develop different levels of intricacy, and moreover, tone, like in the 30 second one: despite being the most rushed, it had my favorite vibe of them all. I think doing something where he builds off of the shorter ones to finish them would be cool.
If mozart had this software, he would have written a million pieces...
