I wrote a piece 2 years ago, but its a little bit long, its about 9 minutes. But unfortunately I just know it by heart since I dont know how to read nor write music In sheets. I havent gave it a proper name, but its related to "Time" and "infinity". An ode to Time I would say, I hope someday I learn to write music in sheets and share my piece to you!
Kevin Lee it’s not that difficult of a composition, it’s basic chord progressions. He used whole notes and quarter notes to portray emotion. If I really wanted to I could write a piece about the same or better at the age of 16. Doesn’t make me special. But I do admire the composition it’s well put together, however there are some improvements that could be made. Also writing for a piano is one thing. Writing for an ensemble is another, they are 2 totally different ball games. I would be more impressed if he did not compose a simple piano melody but he wrote an ensemble version for Horn, clarinet, bassoon, and violin. Until then i would rate 5/10 due to musical expressions and the overall emotion portrayed during the piece.
Samuel Taylor Yes, but still. He is 13 years old. It may be a bit easy, but the fact that a 13 year old made it is kind of astonishing. I do agree that improvements could be made, however.
" Lycoris Radiata" This gave me chills I've never had before, it's elegant but angry, dark but bloomy, it's like sunrise but on the other hand it feels like sunset. This is beautiful.
Agreed. I have never cried to a piano song, ik it sound weird, but Lycoris Radiata and The Gentle Zephyr actually made me cry. Lycoris Radiata reminded me of my good friend who took his life; finally succeeded after many failed attempts. Although it is off of what the composer intended, it is how I interpreted it. The Gentle Zephyr didn't make me think of his death, rather his life when we were in those prime "good old days."
what the hell that 2nd piece actually made me feel an aching in my chest like i had lost someone. its so powerful and incredible, a truly talented composer
The point is that we’ve all lost someone. Not someone outside of ourselves/someone we’ve known as a separate human being, but our own inner child; ourselves 😭
Your fanbase are composed of highly talented, prodigious orchestral geniuses. I'm not one of them, but all of these are beautiful masterpieces, these are mind blowing.
Spike: Oh this is a cool melody I’m going to make it a full song. Everyone: Bro this guy must’ve been deppresed and went through a lot. This song is so deep,
I love the first part of the first song because I can just imagine the person it's about. I know for a fact that she's the goblin of the friend group and I love that you can hear it in the song lol
I love the first part of the first song because I can just imagine the person it's about. I know for a fact that she's the goblin of the friend group and I love that you can hear it in the song lol
The last piece sounds like something that would play at the end of a hero’s journey, where all the characters are sitting in the grass and thinking about the loved ones they lost along the way. A gentle breeze blows and the characters you’ve grown to love say their goodbyes and go their separate ways. The main character turns around at the crest of a hill and watches his friends go. The camera stays as the character walks over the hill and disappears never to be seen by you, the reader or watcher, but you can infer that his story doesn’t end here.
It's not only the innocence of childhood dying but the disillusionment and having to face reality that sometimes the people you love aren't always going to be there for you, that sometimes their actually not great ppl and that the world isn't as magical and vast as you felt it was as a kid. I could also see this piece dueling for darker themes of death and loss. I loved it.
i just realized if you listen closely the lycoris radiata displays the different stages of grief: denial, anger, bargaining, depression, and acceptance Edit: sorry for making you cry but thanks for the likes have a wonderful day
@Ambiance Krahl There's actually a lot of inspiration from BTS in this album which is why there's logically also a ton of inspiration from Demian. I love both the book and the BTS universe, they really do describe the process of maturing in a very different way!
@@fireflieer2422 What's lost can't be brought back, but you can always make new good memories. I personally have only negative memories from my childhood but my present is a lot more positive
@@macaron_ii Similar stuff happens to me. Like once i was sitting talking to my friends and this girl taps on shoulder and says with a straight face "Sir, I thought you were mute? How are you talking?" And i just stare at her and say "Just because I dont talk in class doesnt mean im mute."
To those that play piano, I'm envious. Piano is such a powerful instrument. It conveys emotion better than any single instrument IMO, and is so complex . To those that compose piano music....just wow.
Its never too late to learn, i learned at five and played for years and years, then had to stop in covid, i suck now. But im jumping back in better then ever before!
@@nender8408 Well...song can make u sad that is if that song is vocal....but i never in my life heard an instrument actually giving off an strong sense of emotion ig.....
Sometimes I forget that people actually come up with this shit and I dunno, I guess I always thought that the sheet music for songs like these were just born into existence from flowers and stuff but turns out I’m just too stupid to fathom how amazing someone has to be to make stuff like this
The way “Lycrois Radiata” actually has me tears. It’s so powerful. While I may not be musically literate and can’t understand much on a technical level, I still felt such strong emotions listening to the piece.
"The Gentle Zephyr" was my favorite. Almost sad.... nostalgic, maybe. At the same time, however, there is a happy and gently comforting lightness to it. A mild aching inside that somehow makes you smile a little. Beautiful.
Yeah it was quite the piece, the part where spikes explains how the first death many go through is the lose of their childhood fit the section perfectly
Lycoris Radiata is now my favorite piano piece ever written. Spikes is a genius and his music feels like losing your innocence, growing up, and finding happiness again. It’s beautiful
Agreed, this one was my favorite. I've always been in love with songs that have solemn feel cause I guess I just relate to it. This piece was beautiful and it is actually the first non-lyrical song that I've heard that almost made me cry when I first heard it. It really pulled at my heart strings and that's amazing. Thank You Spikes for creating this musical piece of art and sharing it with the world.
i don't know if it's related but the flower mentioned is an important flower in japanese folklore culture, it's featured heavily in kimetsu no yaiba and what you described is exactly the plot of a shonen :)
Lycoris Radiata sounds like someone's life falling apart in anger and sorrow, especially when the notes start getting louder and louder and absolutely beautiful piece.
" Lycoris Radiata " made me feel like the feeling of someone you loved your whole life fades away from existence forever even the most bravest man will cry when their loved ones fades away from existence
(Composer of Lycoris Radiata here) I'm glad that you were able to connect to my piece! It is interesting that you felt that way because I have actually gone through exactly what you described
ATs Magic Shop When I heard it, I almost cried. I couldn’t stop picturing me at the first funeral I ever attended, my grandfather’s. I didn’t quite understand where he had gone, but I felt the most overwhelming sense of pain I have ever felt. Every funeral since then has been less and less painful because of that first one, because that child inside of me died that day. At such a young age, and several times in the years that followed, I lost a part of myself forever. Your piece made me feel that part again, albeit for just a little while. It was beautiful. Thank you.
“The first death many go through is the loss of their childhood self” This hits different when it’s tied to the anger and all the hidden emotions in Spike’s piece. It’s crazy.
I felt that... immediately I was like...Up on Poppy Hill? Screams in something Ghibli! Though not taking anything away from the actual BEAUTY of this piece. 13...wtf.
*If you flipped the order of Spikes and Shen’s pieces, it would be a hauntingly complete life story….* *(1) Rizal’s* is the child at school. Simply having fun with their classmates each day-and likely experiencing their very first innocent crush (or crushes). *(2) Shen’s* is that same child, now as a teenager planning for college/university. They’re no longer in childhood, but they aren’t quite old enough to fully appreciate the loss of it yet, because they’re too focused on being in the middle of one of their most pivotal life transitions-from adolescence to adulthood. The music reflects how they are nervous and unsure about going off into the world for the first time, but those uncertain nerves are always heavily colored with an undercurrent of excited anticipation, hope and dreams of what the future holds for them. *(3) Spike’s* takes place a decade or two later, after the reality of life has thrashed our protagonist around quite a bit. The music shows that they’ve endured enough difficulty in life to fully appreciate how beautiful the innocence of their childhood was -and now the panic-fueled, icy, existential grief of understanding they will never feel that way again, begins to set in. But once they make it beyond the initial mourning period for their childhood, you can hear notes of hope starting to creep back in to the music… Eventually the protagonist realizes that just because they now know too much of the world to ever feel the same type of innocent, safe, and carefree joy of childhood again-they can now do everything in their power to protect that same innocence and unencumbered joy in all of the children in their life. This particular piece of the journey ends with almost the same tune as the beginning, yet is slightly altered. Because our young protagonist faced down their demons and mourned the loss of their childhood innocence, but has now found comfort and a renewed purpose in their life-by fighting to protect those beautifully innocent years of the new generations… Just as their parents/guardians once resolved to do for them, long ago. And thus, the emotionally complex cycle of existence begins anew.❤️

i never wanted Lycoris Radiata to end. it was really exactly how i felt almost everyday in the past. for the first time in my life i felt as if someone actually understood me, even if we have never talked or seen each other.
Lycoris Radiata makes me feel like, this wasn’t a slow loss, but an instant one. The thing they held most precious to them was simply torn away from them. Their memories are all that are left but they can’t stand the memories anymore. They want things to stop. They’re angry at the world, but they know death happens. They eventually begin to slowly know that this person wants them to live, so they do what they can in their memory to keep them alive no matter how it may be possible. But they always have that person closest to them, regardless of what is happening
When you said torn away, I thought you were talking about the chocolate ice cream cone I was holding, but was snatched out of my hand and thrown on the floor by a man that is now dead.
@@eowia yea it wasn't sad but it was just so compelling, lionel really channeled so much raw emotions in his playing that the piece has written down. i'm generally unemotional when listening to music but that piece had me choked up
Who is this Michael Shen kid??? I was in tears no later than half way through The Gentle Zephyr, and you're telling me he is 13 years old??? I'm speechless...
Coming from the perspective of a former ballet dancer, Lycoris Radiata has HUGE potential for amazing contemporary choreography. I can feel the emotions so deeply.
He said it was peaceful but it was sad for me. You know those good endings in movies where the characters separate? To be more specific, when i was listening to the last piece, i thought it could be an ending song for Attack on Titan
I kinda reminds me of when a person recalls good memories of someone that they don’t/can’t talk to anymore, or when good friends are who have been together forever are part to chase their individual dreams (they’re still in contact but it’s not the same)
In a sense, I feel these all tie together in sequence - Rizal's could represent childhood; wild changes in emotion, chasing whatever catches your eye - the piece is light, fun, and innocent. In Spike's, we are saddened to grow up, to move on from friends, family, innocence, and childhood. It's the first tremendous loss, and the piece captures it well. Finally, with Shen's, we grow old; we accept the past, let go of the future, and live in the moment for what time we have left. However long or short that may be. Altogether they paint the arc of life.
Director or producer or whatever: So I need a reeaaly sad and solemn song for this really emotional part of my movie, you guys know anything or anyone?? Spike: “Allow me to introduce myself...”
Anime Director: So we're doing the full boss fight and the 10-minute flashback. We need music to really bring our viewers into the story. You guys know anything or anyone?? Spike: “Allow me to introduce myself...”
@@quackaddict2203 aaah yes ok sorry I thought you were talking about the flower pffft- I'm dumb xD Like the flower meaning. But I didn't know Hiraeth, it's a beautiful word. Thank you.
“Lycoris radiata” out of the thousands of words in the English language, nothing can describe how that piece made me feel, it was as if as i was born anew and lived my whole life up to this point over again, as if my whole life flashed before my eyes but 1000 times over . I’m mesmerized. Thank you to the composer, you made me feel something I’ve never experienced in my entire existence.
Same... I am experiencing my first break up, we dated 10 months and had she broke up with me in a really mean way. I almost cried listening this as I started thinking how every memory with her will fade away eventually and I will most likelly never see her again...
Lycoris Radiata is one of my favourite deep songs to ever be published as it brings such a beautiful yet true meaning to the flower aswell. Ever since finding this song it has helped me control my own emotions so for that I give my upmost thanks to spike. Beautiful song and beautiful meaning.
@@ATsMagicShop you are legendary lad, your piece sounds like something something Beethoven or Scriabin would write. So much passion. Amazing job brother, you have an incredibly bright future ahead of you.
The last piece, "The Gentle Zephyr" was just beautiful. The fact that the composer is 13 is bonus. It's beautiful, regardless of his age. Really, really enjoyed that!
I got scared reading this for a second. "The composer being 13 is a bonus" had me scared, before feeling relieved that this went a different direction than what I was thinking.
@@spaghettiwrynnsurpremacy kinda sad that your first thought was THAT when you read that sentence. Not hating on you, hating on the people who gave you experiences that made your mind immediately go to the gutter when you read something like that. I still think it was rather unnecessary to share your comment though as it's just asking for someone to get outraged. Man, the internet sucks.
It’s funny, Lionel, that as a young person, you feel Lycoris Radiata is a tragic, hopeless piece. It seems that composer Spikes is also a young person. It is a testament to the universality of the piece that as an “old” (mid-50s) person, I had a totally different take on it! I felt no tragedy or hopelessness - just the certainty of time and change. Each moment is both a birth and a death, and we are constantly transitioning from different types of “deaths”, be they life changes like, love, breakups, moving, illness, retiring, spiritual upheavals, or even the actual death of the body itself. The Tibetans call such a transitional period a bardo, and Spikes has so perfectly represented the sense of them through the transitions in the music. For me this is the natural rhythm of existence, and so the music imparted to me a sense of comfort that our lives will unfold as they must, and that in every moment is the possibility or opportunity to die and be reborn. Death - even the real one - is not to be feared, but a part of the natural, cyclical nature of being. It may be daunting, wild, and sometimes a little scary, but it is wholly beautiful. Congratulations, Spikes.
(Spikes here) Thank you for the beautiful comment Shelli! It is amazing to see all these different takes and opinions on the piece, but all of them share similar topics and I think the essence of all these theories is the same. I am 20 years old, I understand your theory too and think it's a very fitting description for the piece actually! Thank you for sharing your view, I appreciate it very much
Im getting so much inspiration from Lycoris Radiata thats its insane, I can imagine two friends who've known each other their entire lives, but one day one of them notices red spider lilies blooming everywhere their friend goes, but no one else seems to see them. They realise what this means for their friend's fate and desperately tries to change it, or to spend as much time as possible with their friend, or something, anything, they just can't let them go like this. Still don't have an ending for it, but this is just what I imagine, some possible endings could be: - Maybe the friend knew about their inevitable fate, and subtly reassures their friend that it will be okay, and that they will always be connected one way or another, and eventually passes. - The person ends up failing to save their friend, and the story's second half is about their grief and how they come to accept the change in their life. - The two figure out why the flowers had bloomed in the first place, trace it back to something supernatural, and get tangled up in something bigger that neither of them could have predicted, and eventually end up getting separated even more than they originally were. Maybe the one the with red spider lilies becomes ensared in an elaborate trap as just one of many victims, and the person we follow is their friend fighting to save them, doing anything and everything so that they can be together again. (I am inclined to this one haha, I just like the idea of a golden birdcage hidden in the sky, the friend being unable to escape and desperately trying anyway, praying that their friend will come rescue them, and said friend eventually arriving after a long journey only to find they've come too late, their friend in already gone, bleeding out beautifully in a garden of red spider lilies, the flowers being fed with blood as red as their petals, and the protagonist falls in defeat, desperate for a chance to try again, to turn back time, and they just might get that chance. Or not, and they cope with the fact that if they hand just done a few things differently, if they had been more efficient, if they had gathered more information in the beginning and known what to do, their friend would still be alive.) - Or they just get a simple happy ending, who knows lol
I could also see them trying to make their friendship work, but they realize they have both outgrown each other. Eventually one is moving away years later, after much silence on both of their parts. They hang out one more time, in the lobby of an airport, before the one moving leaves, and it almost re-ignites their friendship, but they end up reminiscing more than actually hanging out, on all of their childhood memories, to adulthood, a relationship that went beyond a romantic one, but of a deep platonic lifelong friendship that slowly fizzled out overtime. This is done as gentle zephyr plays in the background.
“Lycoris Radiata” How rare for me to listen to something with very little context, not knowing a full fledged out story that inspired the piece, and still feel my throat choke, my chest tighten, a heavy weight settle upon me, and tears suddenly burst free with a wave of mourning and loss as if I was just told a loved one had passed. What a truly beautiful and masterfully composed piece.
@@ATsMagicShop I know it’s a bit late but your piece feels very close to my heart to a point that all the powerful emotions(nostalgia, trapped anger and sadness) feel relatable. Simply a masterpiece
@@constantinaandreou3787 Thank you so much! I'm happy to hear that you could relate to my piece so well, it always makes my day to see how well people are connecting to Lycoris Radiata. I will release a full album of original compositions on my channel once it's ready (it includes Lycoris Radiata), it's mostly done and just waiting for the right timing now! I think you would like the rest of the album too
The last one had that feeling of when you get closer to a friend, parent, boy/girlfriend, etc. You guys start talking about dumb silly stuff, then the conversation gets darker and you vent frustrations and your issues, that you were horrified to share with others. And they brace you and comfort you, they accept you. And what you feel is happiness and relief. You and whoever embraces and the bittersweet feeling of being horrified and yet accepted just overwhelms you to tears. It was a beautiful piece. I also don't know a n y t h I n g about the piano. I do find it very fascinating and know it is a very difficult instrument to learn. The last one just really hit home. The boy that wrote that I'm sure he will go very far. Edit: 11 months later I am listening to that boy's piece again. It really feels like a friendship growing, that person you learn to trust. You never forget them, they make an imprint on your heart.
At the end of Lycoris Radiata I was on the ground crying after experiencing what I am going through right now, I felt meaningless and hopeless. I hope more people hear Spike’s music.
I got a powerful “ending credits for a game” vibe from The Gentle Zephyr. Like that kind of morose tone, but gentle as well. It was a tragic game, one that doesn’t have a “happy ending,” so to speak. The ending cutscene that the credits play over has something to do with characters that died along the way.
Thanks so much Lionel for having my piece! Rey's and spike's pieces were absolutely amazing and it has been great working with you guys! I spent something ridiculous like 3 months composing this piece before ever putting it in musescore. I guess the melodies really struck me too, since I always forget pieces, but this one really stayed with me. I'm no ling ling of course (if anything I'm closer to 1̶5̶ 22notespersecond sacrilegious boi), just long hours improvising at the piano...
I felt anger and regret in "Lycoris Radiata". It's as if the composer wrote this to pour out all his anger into this powerful piece. While "The Gentle Zephyr" feels like a distant memory. Like a moment that you wish that you'd experiece forever. Hit with nostalgia on this one. It also felt like a mother comforting a child. Truly a beautiful piece with a sad tinge to it.
it could be that "The Gentle Zephyr" is referring to a character in Tales of Arise who died and who's death led the main character to move forward into his role as a leader to save the world.
The Gentle Zephyr reminds me of someone hysterically crying into someones arms as they feel a deeper sense of who they are and what they've lost in life, and even if they express and feel that pain, it will get better as life evolves and moves on.
“The Gentle Zephyr” Is one of the best songs ever. Not only it makes you sad but it makes you so happy. It’s like middle school memories. Is after elementary cause now you understand more complex feels but before high school because middle school is still before you grow up. it’s 👌
Red spider lilies are my favorite flower. Along with their meaning of death and chaos, they also mean "final goodbye". Often i see them blooming for only about a week in patches, but they're so vibrant and gorgeous
When listening to Lycoris Radiata, I thought of the flower being planted at the very young age of a little girl as an attempt to teach her responsibility. She developed a bond with the flower and couldn’t bring herself to get rid of it. Over the many years of the girls life, the flower felt the feelings she did. Her first love and heart break, her rebellion, her sorrow, and her happiness. Once the girl started to get older, she started to get sick. The flower felt it as the girls life slowly slipped away. The flower was placed in her hospital room once she got too sick to stay home. When she passed, the nurses couldn’t bring themselves to dump the flower, so they decided to plant it on her grave, The flower, forever being with its girl.
The feeling Lycoris Radiata gave me was "saudade", portuguese for "I miss you" in english. But saudade is much more than I miss you, it's nostalgia, it's love, it's sorrow, it's sadness and much more. For me this word was this song and this song is beatiful, Spikes really did a great job there, I could listen to this piece every single day and feel different emotions every single day. Happy that I found your channel
"The Gentle Zephyr" would 1000% fit in a tragic, beautiful, bittersweet slice of life anime. Amazingly emotional and touching melodies Michael Shen, absolutely breathtaking music.

The piece Lycoris Radiata was so strong and full of feelings, I could fell sorrow, longing and a deep regret coming as I listened to it, I could not hold the tears, such an amazing piece. Although it is sad in mature in the end it brought to me a sense of relieve, like a mother's hug when we cry, this was a impressive piece that Spikes should be proud, a masterpiece.

Listening to "Lycoris Radiata" made me sob like a child. I recently received news of my best friend's passing due to suicide and I couldn't find any proper way to handle the pain I have been experiencing - I didn't shed a single tear. Once I heard the news, everything was just numb. Cold. As if the happiness had been torn away from my life. Once I listened to that specific piece, reading along as it went, all of my emotions unbundled and tore out. Thank you so much for the content you put out - it's so unique, and to the writer: thank you for allowing me to get a hold of my emotions.
I'm incredibly sorry to hear that. I hope you are able to come to peace with your loss, I recently wen't through something like that. It's horrible. Those songs we're so beautiful, they really *do* capture the loss and sadness.
"The Gentle Zephyr" is such a nice complement to "Lycoris Radiata". "Zephyr" to me, feels like the same idea-loss of childhood-but in a more nostalgic, wistful way. It feels like moving on from the grief, but not forgetting.
The second one deeply reminds me of that phase where I realized I was growing up. I grew up too early. Lost my grandma to cancer and with that many many memories of her. I can't remember many things in that part of my life and it deeply saddens me I'll never be able to relive those moments at least one more time. Beautiful, soul touching piece. Bravo!
The third piece filled me with nostalgia. I pictured an old man buying his abandoned childhood home. He goes through the house and walks through his memories. He remembers his family, their laughs and tears. He misses them. In the end he settles into an old chair and smiles at everything the life gave him. He decides he is going to take his last breaths here.
The last one feels like when you've been crying for awhile and your best friend comes up and hugs you. Edit: HOLY SHIT HES ONLY 13???? GOD DAMN HE BETTER GET GOOD SCHOOL AND GOOD GRADES COS HOLY. IF HE IS THIS GOOD AT 13 IMAGINE HIM AT 20 OR SOMETHING... GOD DAMN THATS AMAZING.

*If you flipped the order of Spikes and Shen’s pieces, it would be a hauntingly complete life story….*
*(1) Rizal’s* is the child at school.
But once they make it beyond the initial mourning period for their childhood, you can hear notes of hope starting to creep back in to the music…
Eventually the protagonist realizes that just because they now know too much of the world to ever feel the same type of innocent, safe, and carefree joy of childhood again-they can now do everything in their power to protect that same innocence and unencumbered joy in all of the children in their life.
This particular piece of the journey ends with almost the same tune as the beginning, yet is slightly altered. Because our young protagonist faced down their demons and mourned the loss of their childhood innocence, but has now found comfort and a renewed purpose in their life-by fighting to protect those beautifully innocent years of the new generations…
Just as their parents/guardians once resolved to do for them, long ago.
And thus, the emotionally complex cycle of existence begins anew.❤️
Amazing, truly amazing

Lycoris Radiata makes me feel like, this wasn’t a slow loss, but an instant one. The thing they held most precious to them was simply torn away from them. Their memories are all that are left but they can’t stand the memories anymore. They want things to stop. They’re angry at the world, but they know death happens. They eventually begin to slowly know that this person wants them to live, so they do what they can in their memory to keep them alive no matter how it may be possible. But they always have that person closest to them, regardless of what is happening

In a sense, I feel these all tie together in sequence -
Rizal's could represent childhood; wild changes in emotion, chasing whatever catches your eye - the piece is light, fun, and innocent.

Congratulations, Spikes.
that hit me deep i swear because the thing im afraid of most is death so yea

Still don't have an ending for it, but this is just what I imagine, some possible endings could be:
- Maybe the friend knew about their inevitable fate, and subtly reassures their friend that it will be okay, and that they will always be connected one way or another, and eventually passes.
Or not, and they cope with the fact that if they hand just done a few things differently, if they had been more efficient, if they had gathered more information in the beginning and known what to do, their friend would still be alive.)
- Or they just get a simple happy ending, who knows lol
The way I would read this!!! It sounds like an amazing plot!!!!

“Lycoris Radiata”
How rare for me to listen to something with very little context, not knowing a full fledged out story that inspired the piece, and still feel my throat choke, my chest tighten, a heavy weight settle upon me, and tears suddenly burst free with a wave of mourning and loss as if I was just told a loved one had passed. What a truly beautiful and masterfully composed piece.
(Composer of the piece here) Thank you so much for the kind words!!
@@ATsMagicShop I am really looking forward to listening to it
@@ATsMagicShop plz tell me when you’ll release it i’m not a huge classical person but your piece made me tear up man such a beautiful work of art
**I feel that.**
@@julias7865 I really feel that, I play percussion. We have triangle.
It gave me the same image

Thanks so much Lionel for having my piece! Rey's and spike's pieces were absolutely amazing and it has been great working with you guys!
I spent something ridiculous like 3 months composing this piece before ever putting it in musescore. I guess the melodies really struck me too, since I always forget pieces, but this one really stayed with me. I'm no ling ling of course (if anything I'm closer to 1̶5̶ 22notespersecond sacrilegious boi), just long hours improvising at the piano...
Your piece was good as was the others. I don't know how important music or composing is to you, but I hope you stick with it and compose more.
You did an excellent job Michael! It's quickly become one of my favorite pieces :)
Michael Shen I loved your piece mate! The best part was the E-DC with the A minor. Thematically very pleasing
Yours was definitely my favorite!
Your piece was very cool :D I think it was by far my favourite out of all the pieces
Spikes - Lycoris Radiata, I have no words to describe how much I feel for this artwork, it understands me, more than anyone else ever could
I felt anger and regret in "Lycoris Radiata".
I think it was sorrow too
It was like the composer was crying
it could be that "The Gentle Zephyr" is referring to a character in Tales of Arise who died and who's death led the main character to move forward into his role as a leader to save the world.
Lycoris Radiata almost symbolizes the downfall of anakin skywalker in a way
The Gentle Zephyr reminds me of someone hysterically crying into someones arms as they feel a deeper sense of who they are and what they've lost in life, and even if they express and feel that pain, it will get better as life evolves and moves on.

“The Gentle Zephyr” Is one of the best songs ever. Not only it makes you sad but it makes you so happy. It’s like middle school memories. Is after elementary cause now you understand more complex feels but before high school because middle school is still before you grow up. it’s 👌
If you like that try listening to studio ghibli music. That melody is nearly identical to their music at points.

@@FarAway-ys2ny nah, just remember not to stress to much about assignments and enjoy the three years.
Wow.

Never one.. without the other..
Goosebumps. Literal. Goosebumps
I really didn't need to cry today, but here we are
The feeling Lycoris Radiata gave me was "saudade", portuguese for "I miss you" in english. But saudade is much more than I miss you, it's nostalgia, it's love, it's sorrow, it's sadness and much more. For me this word was this song and this song is beatiful, Spikes really did a great job there, I could listen to this piece every single day and feel different emotions every single day. That second piece really moved me. I find it crazy how some people can just convey so much emotion in music
Hope you're alright

"The Gentle Zephyr" is such a nice complement to "Lycoris Radiata". "Zephyr" to me, feels like the same idea-loss of childhood-but in a more nostalgic, wistful way. It feels like moving on from the grief, but not forgetting.
Allison I couldn’t agree more
I thought the same too..
"Zephir" means marshmallow in russian (got me lol), but I get what you mean.
i imagine it as at the end of good times, be while you're sad, you're more glad it happened, and the piece is you looking back on them fondly
Bravo!
I am sorry to hear this, but It seems like when your grandma died the child in you died too but i hope that doesn't stop you from being happy now
That and the pressure coming from home when she was ill with cancer. I'm struggling but making it work now too:)

I pictured an old man buying his abandoned childhood home. He goes through the house and walks through his memories. He remembers his family, their laughs and tears. He misses them.
