      The cutscenes just made me mad tbh
      I mean yeah they were used for telling the story.. but it made me feel like I mattered even less as a player lol

      I hope they don't go too far because the community isnt always right. They need to find that balance. I'm not saying what happened today is bad, I like it.

    Target dummy and skippable cutscenes. Damn gearbox, the amount that they’re actually listening to us is frankly astounding. Seriously, super glad they’re being so transparent and flexible, can’t thank em enough

      @My life is a joke Thank you. It's bizarre to me how Gearbox is garnering so much praise from people for fixing problems that Gearbox themselves caused in the first place. I'm convinced that Gearbox didn't even test their game before launch. The evidence is piling up.

Yeah it's sad it wasn't in the game in the first place, but at least they're trying to improve it for the community. Unlike EVERY other triple a game company out there that just cares about how much money they can make with microtransactions

      I will not be "glad" about paying full price for a game and receiving mediocrity in return. People have forgotten that the gaming companies work for us as consumers not the other way around. Unskippable cutscenes are a rookie mistake that shouldn't exist in 2019, PERIOD. If they would dare have the gall to charge a microtransaction to fix a problem they caused then their company deserves to go under like EA etc. We as consumers have to stand up for ourselves by not paying them, lazy bullshit on the developers side shouldn't tolerated, ever.

      Edit... Slow clap to the devs for listening. Gearbox and bl franchise hasn't really ever felt shady or cash grabby to me. No game starts out perfect. But with devs listening to the community and changing little bits hear and there they keep the community happy and playing the games. Which I'm no businessman but seems a solid strategy to continued income

    Sounds nice. Still hope they improve the splitscreen performance and add horizontal/vertical exchange, though its a small amount of players who are using it...

    The bank issue can be solved by separating gear by item. (80 slots each for guns,shields,artifacts,classmods,grenades)

      Will Johnson it isn’t as easy as changing a couple numbers. More bank space effects performance. If it didn’t, I’m sure unlimited bank space would’ve been a default feature

      It’s fine till your Amara and realize that A they forgot to make her melee damage buffs only apply to melee and b has guardian rank skills that completely mess with her function

    My only problem is that so many of these things i.e. skippable cutscenes, target dummy, vending machines outside bosses, boss specific loot pools, etc were all in borderlands 2. With such a large timespan between these 2 games its a bit ridiculous to think they didnt have the time to implement these fundamental features.

      I dont think tgey realized how core they were. Who knew that if you give the target area a funtion (game with trophey) that players would be upset they don't have dummies to shoot?!
      Thats just the nature of improving. Its not always exactly what we want but they are refining as they find out it is thst we truely want.
      Honestly can't ask for more thsn that

      1. Name a single game that rivals borderlands that has a test dummy (borderlands isnt an mmo so i dont want any of those used)
      2. Test dummies were used to power level in bl2 so they probably just want to avoid that again cause you could max a character in a few hrs just by taping a button down and walking away from the game lol

      Derik Dunn I agree, but I’m glad they’re releasing them anyways. We’re getting what we’re asking for very quickly and transparently after launch on a game that we will no doubt play for over 5 years, and for free. With all of the scummy shit other companies are doing right now, Gearbox’s methods are only something I can appreciate rn

    I think abother great way to implement dedicated drops would be assigning items to maps themselves, I know that would be more than just adding to a given boss but that would be an intersting way to foster more general gameplay than what some might do where they might literally only farm bosses.

    Having specific weapons drop from specific bosses is the way it needs to be. The worst thing about pre-sequel was not being able to farm bosses the same way you could in BL2.
    It’s so exciting farming a specific boss to try and get the specific gear you’re looking for instead of just hoping you get it from a random world drop.

      That's literally the only reason I don't have a lot of playtime on that game. I completed TVHM on Nisha then went back to BL2 and didn't look back

      Yea I like the idea of having dedicated loot pools I'm all for it but at the same time, the world drops kinda make the experience a little more fun since you don't know when you'll get what you want or what you'll even get(yes, frustrating at times ngl). Idk, I'm all for dedicated loot pools but that randomness gives it that extra zing to the game for me

      Loooool I complained to them about it lmao, I would write a paragraph on why they needed to change world drops to designated boss drops, finally!!! Now it’ll be easier to and faster to create a build after they just nerfed all my guns in my previous build

      Stop this missinformation, making people to sell their gear when they are the same or better than before.

    They should raise the skill points progressively like in the other bls...this dlc it should be raised up to 55 or 60 ( ultimately raised up to 75 ) ,ESPECIALLY when they are implementing mayhem 4

      @@orion1980 the last time (bl2) by the 1st dlc dropped (hammerlock's) the cap got raised to 60 ,cz it introduced 2 new characters like Krieg etc

    They've always listened to the community and fixed things, going back to borderlands 1. But too many people have freaked out over every little thing and expect things fixed in a snap. This game is barely a month old, BL2 was played heavily for 7 years, let them do their thing.

      This.. Bosses are fun, and will be more fun when they add specific drops to bosses, but Proving Grounds needs to be viable as a end game activity, so we can switch between bosses and PG.

      @@alexnguyen5798 either proving grounds and or slaughter ground should have been more rounds then just 5 or each round end has its OWN BOSS so like wave 5 round one might have you kill aurelia wave 5 round 2 might be killavolt. wave 5 round 3 might be chubacabra. or just make them random boss. obviously cant use graveward but still could use tyreen and troy as bosses for waves. that way it gives incentives to playing proving grounds and slaughtering

      I think that the main concern is that the rewards are shit. The chest at the end never has anything good in it. You get better drops from the enemies than you do from the reward.

      The nerfs single handedly made me quit borderlands 3, after nearly 100 hours played. It was fun while it lasted but now Im just left with disappointment.

    Glad to see them trying to make as many builds viable as possible. My hope now is that they will reconsider and add some new vault hunters at some point. More options is always good!

    As someone who has put 100’s of hours into borderlands 2.. I actually enjoy random drops. Changes things up rather than farming the same guy over run over, isn’t it more fun to randomly get loot from anyone? Maybe it’s just me

      Morgan Mahoney I farm Gigamind and love getting random legendaries from him more than any other boss. At least in my experience.

      @@bobmcbobg1696 I found that on tvhm & mayhem2 katagawa jr drops the most random selection of legendaries.. and I can one shot him with my actipn skill so it ia super fast farm..

      Random drops would still be a thing but bosses would have more assigned drops too

      You're both right and wrong, while it is fun to get a super powerful weapon from a random bandit and is nice before level 50... is isn't fun when you need X gun but you're just as likely to get a crap legendary you can't use well (Amara/Fl4k) or if a boss drops a legendary any enemy could you don't know and might grind said boss thinking that it was their exclusive weapon.
      It is wonderful early - mid game but around late - post game it becomes just terrible because there is no rhyme or reason to it and could take a few minutes or 100s of hours and since there is no "Boss exclusive" mark on guns you can't tell.
      All they would have to do is change the pool by doing a few things and the system would massively improve.
      Bandits only drop X legendary, Maliwan Y, and so forth... but as random as it is there is no rhyme or reason, no control, and it feels less like you're getting a reward but rather got lucky.

    Great changes, but I what I hope for the most is that they fix the bugs. For example Fl4k still has a bug that increases the cooldown of Gammaburst over time (I counted 1min 30sec for a 30sec cooldown). Before looking into buffing the pet, they should make sure the skills work as intended. Maybe that is already enough to make them viable.

      Yeah, it's spin-doctoring; a sleazy way to massage the "conversation".
      In the same way, they start off with the changes to Mayhem by saying "MayhemMode has been a fantastic addition... blah blah ". It's deliberately blurring the lines between marketing and patchnotes and roadmap.

      I actually wonder if this patch note is written to the testers first. And they forgot to replace the word several with ----> many. Which also probably reveals they don't have TOO MUCH MORE testers than several, since several is a large amount enough to make a change.

    I am still confused on why they chose not to add more characters to the game down the road. I think that is a massive issue for long term players such as myself.

      They are going to add more skill trees instead apparently. Which would be cool since the current vault hunters are set up to be expanded on. (More pets, mech weapons, different drones, powers)

      I'm so happy with that. I want more story dlc, bosses to fight, raids, mayhem etc. Last thing I wanna do is start a 5th character and replay the story again. And besides with new characters they could be a hit or miss.

    I freaking knew it. When there weren’t skippable cutscenes I KNEW that it was because they were using them as hidden loading screens and transitions. Glad to know they’re working on it.

      Cut scenes happen in active game time. That's why you can see pets, grenades, effects etc during cutscenes

    I've not really heard anyone complain about this, but I really meed them to greatly tone up visibility through particle effects so I can actually see through all the enemy rockets in the slaughtershaft, and through Zane's shield. It's literally impossible to see sometimes. Also, being knocked around all over the place by the enemy rockets os really annoying.

    Patch seems good. They need to give more incentive to do side missions though and explore the game. Currently the only way to play the game it seems is rush to 50 and farm legendaries.

    Is it just me that find the mayhem modifiers kinda ruin it a little?

      @@Alleyezonjimz I find the game is unfulfilling without other difficulty settings, though. It's unfortunate that any reasonable difficulty had to be ruined by a strange choice of rng. It reminds me of slag in BL2, the one scar that marks every individual playstyle.
      I don't think I'd mind if the modifiers were variants of enemies instead, but as is, it goes against the "any playstyle should be viable" direction that the devs are trying to balance for.

      Heal Up fade away isn’t the only build. You can use rakk attack and gamma burst to great effect. The damage may not be as excessive as fade away but that’s because fade away is boss killing and removing jobs fast. Gamma is sustain and rakk is dps

      Heal Up and as I said, fade away is for boss killing and is super squishy. Rakk attack can be used in a similar fashion but you can keep churning out dps and have extra charges,have life steal etc. I know you don’t think they’re partially good but a lot of people have been having success with them so it could be just you not enjoying them as much

    Unfortunately they broke Mozes' Vampyr skill. She isn't healing at all with any grenades. ALSO she isn't regenerating ammo and grenades anymore. So she feels really REALLY bad right now

    I really don't want to hear that something as simple as a target dummy is going to take 2 months. There's no endgame right now and if I hear the word roadmap I'm abandoning ship.

      I think its mainly because the community and also the game itself needs other more important updates than just a target dummy. If they stopped production on the bigger and more important hotfixes/patches for every single little update like that, the real endgame content will never be finished

      The target dummy broke borderlands 2 several times, by giving cheaters the ability to powerlevel themselves with it in splitscreen.
      Thats why they are taking their time to make sure it works as intended.

      @@xnAqua The point still stands that we're talking about something that was in Borderlands 2 AT LAUNCH. It's as simple as disabling an enemies ai and shoving him in a corner of sanctuary strapped to a board. There are so many things that are missing that borderlands 2 had on day one it's ridiculous. A sequel should be by definition an improvement building on the old one and with things like no raid bosses at launch missing major characters, no dedicated loot sources for gear. As of right now Borderlands 2 is objectively the better of these games in just it's base form before dlc. I'm sure they'll keep working on the important things like nerfing gear to "balance" it for a game with literally no pvp though.

      @@rurou9906 Literally nobody cared about that. It's a noncompetitive Co-op game and it allowed people to catch up to their friends. Also on PC if you were going to do that you could just download a save file instead for the level you wanted. (which you can still do in 3)

    hopefully they don't just stack legendaries on bosses. i.e. ait would make a lot of sense for say COV weapons to only drop from COV etc. You know legendaries specific for a region or a type of unit as opposed to just farm whatever boss until you get X legendaries and then move onto the next.

    Mayhem 4 playlists:
    Boomtown: Everyone has rockets...everyone.
    Everyone Floats: moon jump enabled. Allows slam relics to be more versitle.
    Wetspots: Puddles do x2 damage.
    Four of a Kind: All four weapon types/manufacturers receives bonuses/penalties. Each mismatch gives worse penalties.

    I'm surprised that community feedback actually had an impact. Usually we're just brushed aside, but Gearbox at least shows it cares enough to address every single complaint... so here's one of mine that's hopefully heard.
    Buff Iron Bear's damage output and damage resistance; It should not only be an "Oh shit" button that can't last for more than 5 seconds.

    Waiting about for NPC dialogue is worse than the cutscenes for me . Game feels like rush-hour traffic no flow at all . Doubt they'l ever fix that RIP SD pre order money ffs .

    So now that it's gonna get harder/more explosions, can I have op fl4k back. Please gearbox. Your games have always had overpowered characters to play as and they were never changes in the old game. It gives the play the best feeling of power. I loved hitting bore spots with zero cause I felt like a God.

    They just confirmed the change to beam grenades is intended thus why Hex/Quasar/Firestorm are not proccing Moze's pull the pin and other skills. SO GLAD THEY TEST THESE CHANGES BEFORE GOING LIVE.

    Not gonna lie, this game was a disappointment.
    Gun play updates are fantastic, I like that shotguns stun now.
    But the story is horrible, characters are annoying, Troy and Tyreen are the worst villains since the twins in Far Cry: Cash Grab, claptrap is NOT claptrap, Vaughan is annoying AF...
    Badasses with infinite rocket launchers...lag on EVERY menu screen.
    Also, shite replayability. I was level 50 before I started TVHM, which means my second playthrough was at the same difficulty level as the last half of my first one.

    I stopped playing the day i logged in updated my save from the cloud and my 300+ hour Moze was gone! I got no response from Gearbox apologizing or reassuring me that they're working on it!? I know I'm not the only player this happened too either! This is the only patch note I'm looking for! Until that's fixed I'm not coming back. Since that day I've discovered Destiny 2 and it's been a lot of fun. I sincerely hope to try Borderlands 3 again but losing my main and all my legendary weapons i accumulated is just a kick to the nuts.

    how about they fix the fucking achievements, I have had 223/223 locations for over 2 weeks and the achievement won´t proc, its the last one I need for 100% achievements.. also the fast travel point for the slaughterstar 3000 disappeared and I can´t get there by any means.. also also, you can skip cutscenes by save/quitting so it really can´t be that hard to put a button prompt to skip them.. it is nice that they are listening and seemingly doing stuff but some of that stuff like the target dummy and the bigger bank space are things that really, really should have been in the game at launch, after 7 years of development, for fucks sake bl2 had target dummies at launch with a bloody quest attached to them..

    For me, performance is most negatively affected when there are many rarity weapons on the ground. I'd guess they need to clean up the shaders/graphics stuff around the glowing effect for items on the ground. Crashes are annoying, sure, but they happen fairly infrequently. The stuttering from weapon drops in slaughter grounds makes it almost unplayable. My PC isn't top of the line but 32 gb of memory and a 1080 should run this game no problem.

    I want them to fix actual problems like going from level 30+ enemies in Devil's Razor to 20+ in The Splinterlands and Carnivora. Enemies are suppose to get higher in level as you progress, not take a step backwards. Or let me pick Mayhem 1 before beating the game so the enemies scale with me.

    They ninja nerfed the Hex and Stormfront splash damage. So previously the damage did count as splash damage, this is no longer the case as any Moze main can tell you it no longer procs the interaction between her Blood Letter Mod, her skill Vampyr, and the listed grenades. Kinda shady. Didn't they just say they were not trying nerf builds every week? Yeah ok.

    Can't play it on resolution mode. If there were any other good coop shooters people would have been outraged with the stability the game dropped with. Not to mention TERRIBLE main bosses. Cringe streaming bs story, and broken skills.

    The only thing I wanted was skippable cutscenes, but they went and made the game easier in the process? Even tho it's about Mayhem 4 now, the legendarys are like in D3 now, which makes them common necessary drops to survive and everything else is just trash. What's the fun in that?

    Id love to skip cut-scenes but I want more fixes for the crash fixes, lag, and menu lag. Cut-scenes are only a couple of minutes amongst a few hours of gameplay while using your menu is constant all the time. More drops from bosses and named creatures instead of all being world drops, bank Space etc. Skipping cut-scenes should be much much lower on the list.

    I kind of liked not having boss-specific drops. Boss-specific drops make it too easy to create a perfect build, and I feel like it leads to me trying fewer builds/guns. Maybe a mix of world drops and boss-specific drops would be the way to go.

      the nade regen seems broken/bugged. for me it stops at some arbitray number. ie i have 14 max and it just regens up to 8 or 11 and just wont go higher for a long, long time.

    Mayhem 4? The reason I stopped playing is because I'm at Mayhem 1 and still having trouble playing it solo. I can't finish a proving grounds area or the circle of slaughter. So basically there's no reason to keep playing

    So they arent gonna patch the game until November? Since this update i have been unable to use my Favorite/Junk feature in my Backpack. Its not game breaking, but its a pain in the ass.

    Mayhem mode is great but i expected crazy, unreal tournament style modifiers like enemies having a random chance of exploding on death, non-badasses with rocket launchers or some shit like firebreathing, laser eye midgets.

    You know what I would like to see? Some kind strike/raid mission just like in Destiny or WoW in an upcoming DLC.
    That would add something to the endgame. It could be a series of story mission that lead to a repeatable *strike* for lack of a better world.

      I think raids and the like would be fantastic for those interested in it for this game. More endgame content makes the endgame better imo.

      @Stephanie Lewis fair fair, idk I honestly think the Proving Grounds is already just a step or two under what a borderlands raid could look like.
      I'm not saying Gearbox should copy the raids in other games like Destiny or WoW those raids would NOT cater to borderlands gameplay. But putting a borderlands spin on the general idea of raids would be something fresh to mix up what we already have.

    All bosses in Mayhem 3 are easy, so farming bosses in Mayhem 4 should not be that hard. The only annoying enemies on Mayhem 3 atm is the annointed.

    As most of the comments below, happy to see there listening to the community and releasing multiple patches! I have hope for what the future of this game looks like but I have to say... Did the devs play/test there endgame during development because it seems mostly universally at this point that most people have been disappointed with Borderlands 3 endgame. I have multiple friends who have stopped playing all together due to lack of endgame content or are eagerly awaiting more. As a stand-alone shoot and loot game for $60 I am rather disappointed. As said earlier I think there heading in the right direction to make things better but at this time I’ll be stepping away. OUTER WORLDS HERE I COME

    My Moze is so shit now :( No heals, No grenades return. Using Moxi's grenade is decent on bosses but healing is no where as much...dumb change.

      I can see trying to equalize the experience on co-op, but if Im playing single player, who cares if Im OP?

      That Guy I think they’re fine right now. I would want to spam a particular move just to get extra damage or stab. While it may be good, it’s not fun. Amara is great with anointed gear but I wouldn’t use one with moze for obvious reasons. This game is a joke of a challenge we don’t need it easier
