- Hi, this is the second video in this series.
This topic is something many of you have been asking for. I hope it helps you understand the CP and PNR concepts better.
Originally, I planned to make one video covering both CP and PNR topics, but it ended up being too long. So, I've split it into two parts. This first part covers the whole concept and numericals of Critical Point/ Point of Equi-Time/ Equi-Time Point along with basics about both, the Critical Point and Point of No Return.
I've discussed important numericals that are frequently encountered in DGCA examinations. Be sure to practice similar questions from Keith Williams' question bank as well.
Questions covered in this video:-
1. With a fuel of 10,000 lbs, the PNR is calculated to be 880 nms. other factors being constant, if fuel is increased to 11,000 lbs, the distance to PNR will be?
2. What is the time and distance to PSR from departure airfield?
given, total endurance 5 hrs, reserves reqd. 1 hr, gs on 250 kts, gs out 280 kts, gs home 320 kts
3. What is the time and distance to psr from a?
given, tas 160 kts, w/v 100/30, a to b 1620 nm, course 030°, depart a at 0930 utc, total endurance 04:00, safe endurance 03:20.
4. What is the distance and time to psr from “a” ?
given, gs out 400 kts, fuel flow out 2800 kg/hr, gs home 450 kts, fuel flow home 2500 kg/hr, total endurance 15000 kg, reserves reqd. 3000 kg.
5. What is the distance and time to psr from “p” ?
given, total fuel 16000 kg, landing reserves1500 kg, p to q distance 2050 nm, fuel reqd. 11500 kg, q to p distance 2050 nm, fuel reqd. 10200 kg
