This guided breathwork is based off of Andrew Huberman's amazing lab work. This is called the 'physiological sigh'. In his opinion, this is the most effective way to calm down and get yourself into the parasympathetic nervous system (rest & digest). Humans spontaneously use physiological sighs without realizing, in claustrophobic environments or in deep sleep when there is a build up of carbon dioxide in the blood stream. This breathing pattern helps offload carbon dioxide whilst increasing oxygen intake, helping us to relax.
Tell me how it went! :)

I do 15 of these before bed and I sleep much much better. Also works if you wake in the night.
Thank you. I use this every day as i have severe anxiety
Quite grateful to you!
And to you my friend :)
Great work! I've been following Andrew for a while now and using this technique with success but you put a whole new spin on it for me! I found this in a 24-hour panic attack that only ceased completely when I did this. Excellent work! Excellent results!
I love to hear that! Thanks for your comment 😊
Thank you so very much. Truly appreciated.❤
Thank you, you are the only RUclips that show people how to do it for many minutes, I have to slow the speed down to 0.75 instead of 1 so I can do it slower. Thank you, wonderful breathing youtube.
Thank you Alice! I appreciate the kind words and so glad I could help :)
I love this meditation and it has helped me so much over the past few months to regain a sense of calm after an intense period of panic. I do it often - sometimes at home but often on the bus or train - and it really helps to ground me. Thank you very much, I appreciate your help every day.
So sorry to leave it late to reply. I'm so glad it helps and thank you for your lovely comment I appreciate you!! I also just uploaded a slower and better version of the physiological sigh :)
Thank you for this video, merry Xmas
And to you! :)
Great work my friend! It is a bit difficult to follow and to get into the flow of it. I'll keep on practicing and let you know. In the mean time congratulations, thank you for sharing and keep up the good work, I really appreciate it!
It can be a bit strange when you first start but its very effective. I'm always open to ideas of how to make things easier to follow along and better for the viewer though. Thank you! I really appreciate your support :)
Look at Andrew Huberman demonstrate this - all will be clear!!
Would love 5-minute version! This one is about 4:20.
Hi Justin
He has made a 5-minute version.
Search for the channel name in the search bar above 👆
At the very top of the RUclips app.
Your video is good, but most of them are too short.
I hope there is at least half hour length.
If people want it shorter, they can simply stop earlier.
For the video, I think is better to be longer so that audience can choose the length themselves.
Apologies for the very slow reply! Thanks for your feedback. I'll keep that in mind, though that video length puts a lot of people off clicking the video. Have a great day! :)
Hi when we breathe in should we breathe forcefully or the same intensity as when we exhale? Thanks
❤
❤️
Will there be any diffrence if I exhale through nose instead of mouth?
Dr andrew huberman said that it should be done 2 to 3 times only ? Whats the correct method..
I believe he is talking about this method in the context of calming down in high stress moments, he says 1-3 cycles of this can be enough to calm your heartbeat and stress levels down etc. But I believe there is no danger to doing this for longer, I find it to be a very nice way to calm myself right down and have a lot of success with doing it for 5-10 minutes. However, just 1-3 breaths in moments where you need it can make the difference, hope this helps
