Sadly, the longer you are out of work, the less likely that you will return if you have enough passive income to live on. It will not be a healthy situation as other parts of your life such as health and social circles will likely degrade as well.
I know what you mean. I left truck driving, and a job I loved, for $4300 a month on IU. I made double and some driving. I can't drive anymore, I'll end up offing someone.
Let me speak from experience! I’ve been 100% IU P&T for 7 years! Yes you can work as long as you don’t make over the poverty threshold for your household size! I work part time and made 7K this year. Between my VA disability income and part time job I’m living comfortably. This is definitely not a complicated issue as long as you follow the rules for TDIU. Some veterans act so naive when it come to the subject of TDIU!
One of the biggest problems is people still qanting to receive income while on TDIU, because they see TDIU as an easy 100%. If the VA discovers I volunteer at my church, could they use that as evidence that I am able to maintain employment?
Well, I’m a little confused. I mean, if you’re getting disability pay for some ailments or injuries or things that you have wrong as a result of your service there’s a lot of people that work and receive benefits. So I’m confused because if you’re able to work, does that mean you don’t get benefits that you earned and that you are owed I don’t understand so I guess if you become successful at something, even if you still have whatever ailments you have, but it turns out that you managed to find a way to still achieve things in spite of that what you don’t or I’m not supposed to take what is Dooley Rightfully owed to you I’m confused. I really don’t understand why somebody gets in trouble but so many others actually can so what is the dividing liner? What is the difference? What is the part that says well yeah if you do this though, then you can’t get your benefits that you deserved and earned what is the actual thing that you know makes that not allowed or allowed because maybe you taught a couple classes and you speak at events or it said that he had people volunteers and others that did most of the work for whatever he was involved in so what because he’s connected to it that means what so if I say he started a company and even though I didn’t really do any of the work except for maybe sitting at a desk answering the phone if that company becomes successful I don’t get to receive my benefits anymore. So if you happen to start your own business, but basically you just own the business you started it, but you don’t actually really run it or somebody else runs it and you don’t really work at it, but it is your business you’re not supposed to be able to get your benefits is that what this is Saying because that would be wrong.
