Now approaching its hundredth running, America's second-oldest race has evolved from open-wheel sprint cars going up the mountain's dirt trail to Group B legends to the Electric Racers of today sprinting up the now paved road. With unpredictable weather, scare guard railing, and just one mistake away from falling hundreds of feet, the challenge of pikes peak now stands alone and has attracted man and machine from all over the globe for almost a century.
