It’s amazing to hear your opening thoughts, I gave up flying because I could not dedicate enough time to maintain a safe level of proficiency. I went through the same thought process that I wanted that same analog feeling of having to manage the machine that would emulate what’s required to fly. A cobra definitely scratches that itch.

I think yout 964 looks great. Its got that iconic Steve Mcqueen slate grey vibe to it. To the haters that tell you that you shouldn't do this or that or your wheels can only be Fuchs ... to the haters I would bluntly tell them to go F'k theirself . You didnt ask for there broke ass opion . Tell them to get back in there used as Hyndai and shut the FK up . Its your Porsche you can do what you want to it ... and ANY one who really gets Porsche knows that Porsche is about freedom. Not to say you dont want to do things tastefully because a vintage sir cooled 911 or 912 is special and it deserves to be done with some taste . But ya tell those haters to get there own Porsche.

As a comparison, I have a F355 in my car collection. I spanner all my cars. A major service on my f355 takes me 4 Days, and my last service cost me less than $3K in parts, including the Clutch plate Assembly. The 4 days included a full day of engine bay detailing, because I like it to look pretty! How any owner can spend $15 to $20K on a service has me speechless. These cars are robust and simple to work on, they were hand built, so they come apart easy.
