He had skateboarding experts come face to face and talk down on him because he had his own style. He still committed to it and it paid off. "Just a skateboarder" is not even remotely true.
@@xskoots2704 Cunningham. Biggest park in California if not USA. Next to a beautiful lake, raging waters, and 5 OTHER skate parks within miles. Plata Arroyo, Roosevelt, Target, Mayfair, and Stonegate
it looks beautiful, what a place.Great to see the old school skaters ripping it,love watching those guys.At $2 a session ,that should get support.Props!
Tony, you inspired me since I was 3 years old, I was a pro playing video games (Tony Hawk 2 for ps2). That was the only Tony Hawk game I had, now. Now that I realized I exist, Hopefully I'll start to skate this November 18th, but if I get a Walmart board, I'm going to cry because they are really bad
My class came here a year ago as a school event in science to see how skating works. a few of us like me were skaters so we asked if we could try it out. But it was school hours so i was closed, but the owner let us go in and have the park to ourselves :D probably the best day ever.
I give mad respect for steve caballero, hosoi, hawk, Mark Gonzalez. I loved Those guys. I recently got back into skateboarding again& i fell on my ass, dam my tailbone hurt. So no more street for me, only pool riding lol
I stopped for a while too man but I regretted it and am skating again. I can't keep up with the young guys now... even though I'm not that old but I'm having fun and learning a few new tricks along the way. You should start again.
Krondelo You sound like me. I'm 27 and just like you. Can't keep up but still got most of what I had when I do get a chance to get back to the park. Need to go this weekend. I dislocated both knees in the last 2 years (8 months or so apart from each other) and had a lot of time off sports to make sure it was good again so out of skating action since I was 25.
Daniel Son Damn man, sorry for your injuries, yeah very similar though. I'm actually 26, but haven't skated much since my teen years. Also when I try skating now I get hurt which sucks, nearly broke my wrist slamming on a 4 foot quarter trying a fakie 5-0. Also slammed my tailbone so hard I was out for nearly a month.
Ryan Jensen same here, I was never really any good at skateboarding, but I really enjoyed it. I used to go street skating and always wanted to get into more intense tricks, especially since my city finally built a skate park. But after I figured out ollies and 3 stairs, I started feeling a lot of anxiety and fear about seriously injuring myself. Seems stupid when I think about it since I always wear padding and a helmet and my other sports are much, much more dangerous.
Im the same age as Tony and he knows as well as anyone there were no skate parks back in the day, all you had was the street, vert ramps and pools, kids these days dont know how good they have it with skate parks all around.
i hav a picture i got of tony going up the weird looking ramp and its signed by him. this was the day they took the picture cuz he was whereing the same thing in the photo. that so cool!!!
ya. but they have like the skull bowl and the vert wall where you might need those pads. but i skate street too and the pads do get a little annoying if you are just there to skate street
Sk8 ers..special breed. Born in 1975..was nothing to do but play atari..or play in the woods or ride my banana board..and watch bones brigade lol. My first actually board after the borrowed banana board was a Nash ..guess my dad got it from walmart.....those days were a blur..wish all kids had the desire to sk8.
This is my favorite skatepark. Everyone here is hella chill (except for a couple of scooter kids), its fucking massave, it's hella easy to progress, and it has something for all skill levels. The only bad thing is that u have to pay $6 for parking on weekends but that is for the park in general not the skatepark :(
This skate park is the sh*t! RIP to the indoor Vans skate park at the Great Mall, I will never forget falling off the large halfpipe there and knocking the wind out of me.
Muito foda esse parque fica em San José na Califórnia, eu caí de bicicleta aí e desloquei meu ombro :) caí no mesmo lugar que o toninho gavião andou :D
I never even learned how to skate, yet here I am watching skateboarding videos. Maybe one day I will learn.. for now I just barely know how to keep it straight lol (probably touched a board only a handful of times)
Hey that’s how it starts out man. It definitely helps if you have friends though. I live in the middle of nowhere and have other skaters on speed dial just to cruise. Take your time and keep on improving yourself and soon enough you won’t believe how far you’ve come
Man it warms my fucking soul to c Steve Cab and Tony Hawk and all the other living legends alive and happy and skating well.............beautiful.

Wow chill
It was crazy how Tony Hawk was one of the most famous men on earth and he was just a skateboarder. Those were the days
He had skateboarding experts come face to face and talk down on him because he had his own style. He still committed to it and it paid off. "Just a skateboarder" is not even remotely true.
@@DreadNawght I mean he is just a skateboarder. I guess you could call him a business man at this point though
Jesus was just a carpenter.
He still is and always will be.

he tried on a video shit was crazy if he has to put on a helmet and knee pads it's not worth trying then lmao

Rodney Mullen lol. Wrong name dude
Kyle U. I
I like to call him tommy hawk like I don't know. I've been skating for 20 years so it's funny to see the looks people give you
My favorite trick that he invented is definitely the tailwhip
This sk7park seems not to be suitable for beginers.
I've been to this park like 5 or more years ago. It's not.
This park was made in 2011 idiot
Kiernan Mcgg lol this video was released in 2011. The park actually opened in 2007 or 2008. I remembered skating here when I was still in high school.

the reason for me why tony was one of the best is his style. he makes every trick look smooth and easy.
Tony is crazy sick on a board! I'll never forget the 80's BULLET'S 66
so nice to see Caballero still skating too.
The whole time I was just wishing I could go to that skatepark!!!

parks like this are always full of soccer moms, scooter kids, and bmx bikes.
BMX bikes aren't that much of a problem now. They added a pump track.
clemj1 the sad truth
Soccer mums love the D... that’s why they’re a mum! Just one more reason to go down there
I love soccer moms
I only see scooter kids as a problem from this list.
Nice to see The Cab still has it on a bowl :D

@Jim Goose only the ones that arent acctually contracted
The street course looks so dope as a BMXer!
this is my local park i love it
That vert wall.....
you are correct for the most part, but if a park is vert and street, its harder for me to do the street wearing huge knee pads.
