My dad used to make this for us when we were children when we were sick. I always thought it was something he made up himself, never known anyone else make it! He always added a cinnamon stick. You've made me smile!

My mother, who was Swedish/Norwegian, used to make this for us kids when we were under the weather with a cold. Like Sonja's dad, she also added a cinnamon stick, but she also added cloves and honey. Think I will save some orange peels from the oranges on the counter, and make myself some orange peel tea later this week.

My mother used to make orange peel and ginger tea for me whenever I had a tummy ache, 60+ years ago. It worked. Now I make it for my adult son, who normally scorns such stuff. It still works, and he downs it without complaint.
    Thanks, Chris.

Do you use the peel after making the tea for something or do you trash it? Asking cause I want to try this but then I thought that maybe you could make orange powder for seasoning after making the tea... unless the process of making the tea takes all the flavor out.
