You're absolutely right. I'm going to take a shower, grab some coffee, break down some weed and smoke to this classic! Watched the latest film in theaters, marvelous it was and completed again Marvel's Spider-Man. Time to watch the Animated Series
Wow…..I never thought Avi Arad can be a problematic when it comes to property such as Spider-Man…..since the 90s Animated series? Didn’t he ever learned from his mistakes which caused Spider-Man 3 and the Marc Webb’s Spider-Man films to fail?
Green Goblin, Hobgoblin (Mark Hamill), Venom, Rhino, Kraven, Doc Ock, and Shocker (Jim Cummings) were great! I guess Scorpion too but it would’ve been nice to have continued Venom after the Eddie Brock era.

And the Spiderman say Amen to that to Spider dear. In what if spider-man the animated series spider-man found the real Mary Jane Watson in the pink wormhole limbo in the pictures in July 21,2012. Hope the Marvel spider-man animated series season 6 to continue in the Disney plus again soon.
I wouldn't say The Animated Series was well-animated. TMS was definitely running on a strict budget since the beginning, and they blew it all on the first season sadly.
Don't forget well written. Tried watching the new spiderman series, but it's so packed with stupid tech spiderman never had, pushes avengers teamups, and includes stupid 4th wall breaks with even dumber jokes that ruin the pace and immersion. Kids can handle series storylines, you dont need to put in stupidity and a spiderman themed jumbo jet, giant robot, or "spideymobile". Peter parker is supposed to be a poor kid who made his tech by himself, its part of what made him impressive. spiderman tas was the first show I even remember watching on TV, and the last season ended when I was 9. It's always been my favorite cartoon.
@@doraeguyakaneddie6586 I really liked the story of spectacular Spider Man, but I prefer realistic animation for superhero cartoons. Also, it's possible it's because I was alot older when that aired, so not as enamored by it as TAS.
I LOVED this series! So so much. It defined the villains and characters and no doubt inspired many of the way the characters were portrayed in future movies
All aside from the way Spider-Man was portrayed, in the movies studios mostly only wanted to focus on him as a kid, which is ridiculous. They really need to get over it and stop trying to appeal to a younger generation, it's been done time to move on. Christopher Daniel Barnes has always been the best portrayal of Spider-Man.
@@brandonguindon1056 I agree that it's time we get a GROWN up Spidey. Sick of the kiddie crap we keep getting from Holland's movies. Also yes, Chris Daniel Barnes is to Spiderman what Kevin Conroy is to Batman, Mark Hamill is to Joker, Clancy Brown is to Lex Luther and Tim Daly is to Superman.
Yup. I was already deep into the comics and all his history as a 12 year old when this started, but absolutely loved this series. I dreamed of a live action Spidey series one day
This was by far my favorite cartoon of the 90's, it came out when I was 9 so perfect time and place, it was extremely well done and still holds up today.

I still have the shows background music and theme song stuck in my head after all these years. I almost remember every line spoken in this series. This show made me a lifelong spider-fan. Venom used to scare me and those to be continued episodes did as well depending how the episode ended. Thanks John Semper Jr and all the voice cast and crew of this show. F Avi.
This animated series came out while I was in the Army. I would always watch it when I could catch it, it reminded me in some ways of the animated X-Men series. There was an episode where the X-Men teamed up with Spider-Man.
While somewhat cheesy it was ahead of its time with a multiverse and crossover with other marvel character. For me Roscoe lee brown remains the definitive kingpin. While others have come and gone his menacing and upper class voice lent an air of menace and sophistication to the character. Although hearing him say spidercarnage was funny
An often overlooked animated series that's one of my all time favorites. I know its available via streaming but I wish there was a proper DVD set for this. Story arcs were legendary and many adult themes throughout. Voice acting was top notch!
It was my first introduction to spiderman as a kid in the 90's. Watched it on BBC, Saturday mornings in the UK, although it was often shown out of sequence and we didn't get the final series . FUCKING LOVED IT!! Recently did a full re-watch on Disney+.
This was a great series. It's unfortunate that they never got to do that final season where Peter goes on his quest to find Mary Jane. My favorite show was Amazing Friends, but this was a great show too.
I remember seeing that last episode as a kid and just thinking that the story would continue the following week. I stlll remember sitting down to watch Spider-Man...and it was a repeat. I was so disappointed.
I just finished watching this series last night on Disney+ and man it was great. The storylines, character traits, motivations, life lessons, and the somewhat Avengers storyline where The Maker summons up a board game of chess where the players were based on good and evil. Now I shall start on watching the entire series run of Batman: The Animated Series, Superman: The Animated Series, MIB: The Animated Series, Todd McFarlene’s Spawn: The Animated Series, Young Justice, Static Shock, and many more.
That was so necessary. Peter needed the black suit to bring that anger out of him because he needed to be thay brutal at times, then and in the future. When those completely remorseless villains hit and reluctant Peter won't due, we need the brutal side the symbiote released.
This was one of the best series of the 90's very much close to the comics. Avi Arad's involvement was a waste. The man seriously had no understanding of storytelling and all he cared about was money like the Salkinds. He is a douchebag.
I always go back and forth between this and Spectacular Spider-Man for which Spider-Man show I like better and think is the best, since they're both really good
I always thought that the playstation 1 Spider-man game was spiritual sequel to the series, especially since they uses some of the same voice actors. In that game, Peter and Mary Jane are married, which I always took to mean that Madame web was successful in finding mj.
Fabulous! As an "old guy" I was blown away by the original animated series that Ralph Bakshi contributed to, with that iconic theme song and direct contributions from Stan Lee and Steve Ditko. I didn't get into the other shows until this one. It took the characters seriously and, I feel, inspired the movie incarnations more than any other.
"Couldn't give them a bus ticket and send them to Florida" - yeah that sounds stupid enough that I completely believe it's something a pearl clutching executive would say
I knew that the CGI and traditional animation blend wasn't just limited to Battletech! The crossovers were also unheard of back then, Punisher, X-Men, Iron Man and all the other Marvel stars showing up for a couple of episodes got me so excited as a kid. Also, pretty sure I crushed heavily on Black Cat.
This series was my introduction into Spider-Man long before the live action films with Tobey just as Batman Animated Series was my introduction into Batman
Spiderman Tas Xmen Tas, Spectacular Spiderman, Avengers EMH, Batman Tas, Superman Tas, Justice League/ Unlimited, Batman Beyond, Teen Titans and Young Justice are the peak.
Tbh, I actually don’t want them to revive this cartoon. I loved 90s Spider-Man. It was something I would have my mom rent at our local video store, and I would watch episodes on OnDemand. I wasn’t born in the 90s. I was born in the summer of 2000. But I won’t lie when I say that I grew up watching this show. I don’t want it to come back tho for the same reason I don’t want 90s X-Men to come back. I don’t trust modern Hollywood and Disney of all people to do it justice.
I Hope Spider-Man The Animated Series From 94-98 Comes Back On The Air And Continues Where It Left Off Cause I Grew Up With This Show Including X-Men The Animated Series Batman The Animated Series And The Incredible Hulk The Animated Series And Grew Up With Spider-Man And His Amazing Friends In Reruns
This show was the start of my real knowing of the marvel wall-crawler. Great story arcs, great character animated designs, great voice actors, etc. Episodes I loved were same as mentioned above, plus Neogenic Nightmare arc, Secret Wars 3 parter, and Captain America & Six Forgotten Warriors arc. Imo, not only did Christopher Daniel Barnes sounded great as Peter parker/spider-man, but actually looked the part back then in real life as he would've in that animated series. My only beef is Disney, being jerkoffs not to officially release the entire series and 1990's The Incredible Hulk series onto DVD & blu-ray when most of the other 1990's Marvel series have been.
Agreed I’d love to have Spider-Man and Hulk animated series complete series box sets, there’s no reason as to why there hasn’t been a complete physical release of these great series
My love for the 90s series growing up is why I'm always underwhelmed by all the Spiderman movies that have came out since as I feel they don't have that same magic as the 90s series did.

This series is the reason I love Spider/Man, Marvel superheroes, and just the whole superhero genre. John Semper Jr. put a lot of blood, sweat and tears into this masterpiece of a series.
omg i've just started rewatching for the first time since childhood, it's so impeccably well-written! thanks for dropping this at the perfect moment! ❤
I used to have the series on DVD and remember learning about each of his villains in the special features menu. Really budded my appreciation for spiderman and his villains. Side note: spiderman has the greatest rogues gallery of all comic book heroes. Change my mind.
You said it best,it's so great cause it's just as much about peter as it is spidy himself. This is what made me a comic fan before it was the cool thing but sadly gets forgotten in the conversation of great adaptations. That series finale with how Pete breaks through to carnage spider (no spoiler here cause you should go watch this!) Made me cry when this first aired and still does to this day, imcapsulating perfectly why we love spidy. His heart 🤟
This version impressed me as close to adapting a comic book into a show. Each episode played out much like the progression of an issue. There was a modicum of drama and real-world seriousness, enough to ground the series, but the main focus was on Spiderman's battles against the criminal pursuits of his many super-villain rivals paralleling Marvel canon.
This along with Spider-Man & His Amazing Friends are my definitive SM cartoons. Christopher Barnes did a incredible work as Spider-Man my one nitpick though was the clothes style for Peter Parker with the tucked in shirt short sleeve made him look like a dork I much preferred the John Romita inspired look from SM&HAF.
those cartoons were special to me cause you never grew too old for them. super friends, thunder cats, g.i. joe, hanna Barbera, he man, captain planet, you'd get sick of those the older you got. but x men, batman, and spiderman were special, they would still be good enough no matter how old you got.
Best Spider-Man cartoon ever by far. Was pleased you seemed to research it, until the unfortunate part where it's clear you're just reading imdb trivia when you said censors wouldn't let him land on pigeons. Semper has said that this story actually wasn't true, and was a "joke" he wished he had never made as it gets repeated inaccurately.
No, you where not. I was. Even built my own web slinger out of card board, sewing thread and a pen. I'll bring it if you try to fight me for the title.
the Nicolas Hammond stuff is denied by the producers, but we know it they did use him for inspiration, They would have to deny or else they have to pay him. He would have a case if they ever admitted it.
Now you're after my own heart with this one. Was not Saturday morning without this, X Men and The Incredible Hulk on Fox Kids. This series was so good that it still imo is leaps better than the live adaptations, especially the MCU ones with Tom Holland. Use to love when Spidey would talk to himself "But How!?"

Best Spiderman show ever and will always be. Marvel should remake this .
Ironically, those suction cups on Morbius’ hands freaked me out MUCH more than a standard vampire would when I was a kid.
The guy who did Peter Parker/Spider-Man's voice in the 60s was brilliant.
With Xmen 97 making a comeback we can only hope for a continuation of the 94 spiderman series also with the same voice actors also 🙏
They have to it’s only right to continue this series I hope they do 🙏🏽
This along with Spider-Man & His Amazing Friends are my definitive SM cartoons.
Omg the end credits song had me dying 😂😂
Best Spider-Man cartoon ever by far. Was pleased you seemed to research it, until the unfortunate part where it's clear you're just reading imdb trivia when you said censors wouldn't let him land on pigeons. Semper has said that this story actually wasn't true, and was a "joke" he wished he had never made as it gets repeated inaccurately.
Seriously, if Sony doesn't get rid of AVI ARAD
Their cinematic universe isn't gonna last very long
Was he the one who came up with Venom for Spiderman 4 not happening. Or amazing Spider-Man 3 and 4 not happening?
@@thecompareablezombie he's the one who ruined Sam Raimi's ambition by forcing him to include Venom
And all those characters in TASM2
Loved this old cartoon. The madam web saga. Venom. Sins of the father. Awesome show
Why has this not come out on Blu ray yet? I loved this show.
I believe it is on Disney plus tho
I was the biggest Spiderman fan in 1996
now I'm so done with the character lol, but no way home was really good
No, you where not.
This cartoon has one of best portrait of Spider man . Every future spider Man cartoon and even live action movies are coping this cartoon.
This is my childhood, I can still hear the opening ring in my head.
I loved the crossover with the x-men
This, X-Men and Batman were undoubtedly the 3 most important cartoons of the last 30 years.
Been thinking about this show all week
