I‘m still an 11th grade student but the last two years I tutored on and off several people from two grades below me to one in the same as myself (although on a past topic). I of course only charge 10€ an hour because I ain’t got no master ;). But as you said, it is really rewarding seeing people get way better grades after. Same with seeing people who got stuck in the mindset that they just can‘t do it or that they are just to dumb realizing that with a good explanation and a bit of additional help, they can suddenly understand way more stuff. Very cool, both in terms of money but mainly seeing people becoming able to succeed!

Great overview. I like how you're really specific about what to say to prospective clients and how to create a pricing structure. Can you teach us how to integrate the use of a tablet for working out problems into a Zoom session? Do you use a regular Android tablet or do you use something made for drawing/drafting like a Wacom or Bamboo? Thanks!

I just managed to tutor high school and not university and I charge 20€/h in Italy 30 is a Lot for university. Btw I found that word of mouth is the best way to get students near your place that sometimes actually meet you up in person. most of the people I tutored just needed to study more, they where already understanding the subject but lacking motivation and don’t study enough. They shouldn’t understand that they can do problems alone because after that they drop you

I try to always make it clear with students that I'm just an additional layer of support, I should never be the foundation of their learning. Self study is the best way to improve your math skills, the tutor is the cherry on top! Thanks for sharing your story!

Thanks so much for this video! It has helped a lot as i am thinking of setting up math tutoring for elementary/high school students. I am a college student looking to make some extra cash. I just have some questions for you.
Its been a while since i have done high school math so what should i do to brush up on my skills?
How do i learn the current curriculum of current high school math students?(as it often changes slightly in my country)
What kind of material should i base my class on?
(My own notes? The students math book?
Their homework/problems they are having? Current and past exam paper question? Etc)
Thanks a lot for taking the time to read this far. A reply would be great! But no worries if you cant.

Its been a while since i have done high school math so what should i do to brush up on my skills?
      - I usually ask my students to send me some pics of stuff they want to go over 1-2 days in advance so I can have time to prep, since I can't possibly remember every single concept
How do i learn the current curriculum of current high school math students?(as it often changes slightly in my country)

      - it's best not to work from their homework problems from an ethical point of view, one way you could do it is to take a problem from their homework and change the numbers to teach them. additionally you could also use your own notes when you've been doing it long enough
