Hustling until I’m debt free. I’m a nurse, and have THREE jobs (one full time, salaried role & 2 on call / per diem jobs). When I tell you I’m either working, working, or, on my days off, WORKING some more. 😂 I may be suffering, but I’ll only have to do this for another year or two before I’m debt free and squared away financially. Getting there!
Remember when our grandad had a wife, 2 kids, a car, a house and could go on a nice vacation once year while only working 1 job for 40 hours a week? Those were the good ol’ days! 😂
It’s called Rosie recollection. There was plenty of poverty and issues back then. Today 30% of kids are born out of wedlock and that is what causes a lot of issues.
Families used to live off of one income now it’s taking two incomes and side hustles. I don’t think this is good for society to continue to live like this.
its like no one actually watched this video. These are gigs that are suggestions in order to GET OUT OF DEBT. You dont take on debt and suddenly you've got a whole pile of money just sitting around
Families didn’t used to have new iPhones, PlayStations, or cable and streaming services, taking on credit card debt was frowned upon, and people generally kept their cars after they were paid off. The quality of items was also better back then so things lasted longer. Things have definitely changed and it is tough financially, but it’s not exactly apples to apples when it comes to consumer spending habits

Trying to run a business is tough enough without inflation throwing curveballs. Costs are up, prices are tricky, and who knows what tomorrow will bring? Planning for the future feels like gazing into a crystal ball.
For my Shopify store I focus on what I can control. Look for ways to streamline operations and become more cost-efficient. Consider exploring inflation-resistant pricing strategies to maintain profitability.
Financial consultants can be your guardian angel! They can help you identify cost-saving opportunities and develop inflation-resistant pricing strategies, and ensure your business stays profitable even in these challenging times.
Rebecca Noblett Roberts is the licensed fiduciary I use. Just research the name. You’d find necessary details to work with a correspondence to set up an appointment..
Mine's Rebecca Noblett Roberts. She turned out to be better and smarter than all the advisors I ever worked with till date, I’ve never met anyone with as much conviction.
I have a garden and am constantly reading how mulched leaves are so great for gardens. However I live in New Mexico with only 1 wimpy tree. I purchased a leaf bower/vacuum with a mulcher. I was asking friends if I could come get the autumn leaves for my compost and garden. Others started offering money for me to get their leaves. Now for about 6 weeks in the autumn I get my leaves and money.
If you are planning for retirement Here are some key pointers. Firstly, kick-start your savings early to benefit from compounding. The longer your money has to grow, the better. Secondly, make the most of retirement accounts like 401(k)s and IRAs, especially if your employer offers a matching contribution - it's essentially free money. Thirdly, diversify your investments across different assets to mitigate risk. Think stocks, bonds, and real estate.
Great advice for retirement planning! Starting early and taking advantage of employer-sponsored plans can make a huge difference in the long run. And diversifying investments is crucial for managing risk. Thanks for sharing these valuable tips!
Spot on! Planning for retirement is crucial, and these pointers are gold. Diversifying investments is a key strategy plus, having an investment expert by your side can really help navigate the complexities and optimize your financial plan.
Absolutely! Diversifying investments is crucial for long-term success. Having a fiduciary has been transformative. She navigates market fluctuations, identifies opportunities, and keeps me on track for retirement. Her tailored advice boosts confidence and informed decisions. Trusting her skills brings peace of mind, ensuring my future is secure.
@@TheGrim101 My dad was a firefighter and my mom was a stay at home mom, and they retired having their home paid for and a good retirement portfolio on one income, plus my dad worked 24 hours and was off 48 so he had a great work life balance. So there was a time, not so long ago when one income families could get ahead.
Another great way to stay out of debt is investing. The first step to successful investing is figuring out your goals and risk tolerance either on your own or with the help of a financial professional but is very advisable you make use of a professional.
If I had not experienced this myself I would have said it's all lies but I made withdrawals a few days ago and that's one thing I find difficult and impossible with other brokers.
Wow I know TIMOTHY ERIC MEEK his platform maintains a unique perspective and is very transparent with their investors. When someone is straightforward and good at what they do best, people will always speak for them.
I am an assistant manager at a credit union, make about $54k a year. My side hustle is selling sports cards on ebay and working part time as an usher at a minor league baseball park. Those side gigs bring me about another $12k a year and they are fun to do.
How do you make money selling sports cards? I was going to try and flip them and it's damn near impossible to find people willing to sell under market value.
I'm 54 and my wife and I are VERY worried about our future, gas and food prices rising daily. We have had our savings dwindle with the cost of living into the stratosphere, and we are finding it impossible to replace them. We can get by, but can't seem to get ahead. My condolences to anyone retiring in this crisis, 30 years nonstop just for a crooked system to take all you worked for.
@Christina-Gisela The crazy part is that those advisors are probably outperforming the market and raising good returns but some are charging fees over fees that drain your portfolio. Is this the case with yours too?
I retired this month or took early social security. I work part time as a bus aide the pay is not good but it’s a steady small check to help me cover the bills
Isn't it wild how everyone is just expected to have more than one job anymore? Instead of demanding that companies pay fairly, we just get second and third jobs like that's normal.
@amireallythatgrumpy6508 How fragile our memories are. You're labor used to have value in the marketplace. Somehow, we have forgotten this and just accepted the fabel that we are lazy if we don't work 2+ jobs.
I have created my own dog sitting business as my side hustle. I usually make 50-100 bucks per day, and usually I just stay the night in clients homes. It’s perfect because it doesn’t take a ton of time, and I can still work my regular job around it.
Hi. Thanks for sharing. How did you manage to charge that much? I know friends who've done it and they make about $250/week. They stay overnight, house sit and water their potted plants too, all at once. Do you target wealthier families or some other strategy?
@@essiej5229 I charge 50 for overnight stays and 25/check in. Just depends on the booking, and if I have multiple pets to check in on. I try to stack one overnight client with one check in client (usually a min of 2 check ins per day when booking) which gets me to about 100 per day if I’m fully booked.
Congratulations. I am a dog lover, but I retired to a small village in North Eastern Brazil. Unfortunately Brazil has a really big stray dog problem. People don`t own as many dogs, they are just ALL over the place. (It costs money to have your dog neutered, so they just multiply). Hardly any dogs are on a leash, so this is a great side hustle in America, not so much in other countries.😎
"Alright, I’ve got $143k chilling in my emergency fund, finally ready to let it work instead of just sitting there looking pretty. This video is inspiring, but let’s be real-do I need to start a side hustle just to figure out how to invest it? Gimme a head start, people. Preferably one that doesn’t involve flipping vintage Tupperware on eBay. 😂"
$143k emergency fund? Flexing much? 😏 Kidding aside, I hear you-side hustles are cool, but when you’ve got that kind of capital, maybe skip the hustle and get straight to strategy. A good financial advisor helped me go from clueless to clued-in. Worth every penny!
Totally feeling this convo. I’ve got some cash saved too, but I’m drowning in info overload. I know I need an investment advisor, but where the heck do you even find someone legit? Help a fellow newbie out!
There are a handful of CFAs. I’ve experimented with a few over the past years, but I’ve stuck with Linda Aretha Reeves for some years now, and her performance has been consistently impressive. She’s known in her field, look her up.
I remember watching Linda Aretha at a Bloomberg finance summit a few years ago-her insights were sharp, and her approach was refreshingly practical. Definitely a top-tier expert!
When I was little and I was asked, “What do you want to be when you grow up?” My first answer was, “A dog walker.” That lady is living my dreams and made it a reality
I still have a 9-5 and starting pushing hard on my side hustles.... and now my side hustles (print on demand, RUclips & Affiliate sales) now make more than my 9-5..... they are all done online which I love.
I work security PT for $26/hr for my side hustle. It’s super easy and it’s weekends only. With me doing the side hustle on weekends, I’m currently working 7 days a week trying to get out of debt 💸. It’s worth it to me now.
Where are you PT security for $26? Gotta know, I'm a supervisor at $23 and gaurds from other companies say they pay close to the same. Are you in a psych ward or something? I know they do pay more for the insanity factor.
An acquaintance of mine works for a rideshare company in their corporate office. He admitted the company knows it's basically a scam and the drivers aren't getting paid anything meaningful once you consider wear & tear on the car. He told me "these people go out and buy a $20,000 car, make $10,000 driving, but when they're done the car is worth $12,000 and they spend $2k in maintenance and gas" Only the company made money. Unless the driver gets a killer tip, most aren't making anything. Most quit after 6 months once they figure out how little they actually made, but the business model is designed to constantly bring in new blood, people that can't figure out the cost accounting side of it.
I absolutely agree. I drive uber for about 3 weeks before really figuring out how much I was making. I subtracted the "government rate" for wear and tear + gas which was like 57 cents or something from the amount I calculated I was making per mile (on average over the 3 weeks), and it turned out to be something like $0.25 per mile in profit. I just imagined someone handing me a quarter after each mile I drove and figured out that it wasn't a good use of my time at all.
I was driving for Uber/Lyft… when I just started it was great because I was getting a lot of bonus/strikes….. then they stopped sending me those and most of the rides were $3 !!!! I don’t think it’s worth the time anymore:(
Then buy a somewhat modern $3k car that fits Uber’s standards and it’s a wise investment. You’d be making profit on something that’s already been depreciated.
@@handleyobusiness Both companies have car quality requirements, I believe your car has to be at minimum 5 years or newer. If you know where I can get a 5 year old car for $3K, please tell me. I think you're right though, a person could make Uber work if they were permitted to drive something like a 93 Camry (something runs forever with very little maintenance and is super cheap to buy and fix), but it's not allowed.
True, I hear the instacart and door dash is the good stuff now. But the other side jobs listed in this video are also good IF you live in the right area for it
The problem we have is because Most people always taught that " you only need a good job to become rich. These billionaires are operating on a whole other playbook that many don't even know exists.
It is remarkable how much long term advantage people like us have gotten by trying to be consistently not stupid, instead of trying to be very intelligent.
The wisest thing that should be on everyone mind currently should be to invest in different streams of income that doesn't depend on government paycheck, especially with the current economic crisis around the world. This is still a time to invest in Stocks, Forex and Digital currencies.
Many individuals report success in investing in stocks, forex, and cryptocurrency (Bitcoin), yet I continue to struggle. Can somebody help me out or advise me on what to do?
Even with the appropriate method and assets, some investors will still outperform others. As an investor, you should already know that nothing surpasses experience, and that is final. Personally, I had to seek advice from a stock specialist, which allowed me to build my account by over $35k, extract my profit just before the correction, and now I'm purchasing again.
There is a guy I use maybe once or twice a year who cleans our cans out. I mean it's like maybe $10 a can, but he has a big water tank, a custom rig he built to hold the cans during cleaning, and afterwards they're clean enough to eat out of. Great side hustle for him and such a great service to offer.

I graduated college and still couldnt get a job in my field. If i show you my inbox i got probably 2700(unfortunately while your qualifications were impressive) emails. So i changed my resume up. Yes true, I have been in touch with a brokerage Advisor. With an initial starting reserve of $80k, my advisor chooses the entry and exit commands for my portfolio, which has grown to approximately $550k.

Watch out with reselling. Some of the larger thrift stores like Goodwill caught on to people flipping goods on eBay, Poshmark, and other second-hand market, and they jacked up their prices because they figured that people are willing to pay higher prices for second-hand goods. It’s not as lucrative as it used to be unless you put in a LOT of time.
@@RyanResellsInfinityyes it is, it's called demand. And RUclipsrs went to stores and flipped crap and now everyone does it. the market got saturated and goodwill jacked up prices. you'll pay over Walmart prices for used crap.
@@lolwtnick4362 So by your logic because resellers bought items from Goodwill and re-sold them after watching RUclipsrs do it that now prices are higher at your local Goodwill? And that's how you think supply and demand works? Goodwill is a non profit for profit store. It's hard to keep the lights on without making some profit. We could go into macro economics here but trust that it isn't a resellers fault that prices go up and down.
Decided to start flipping used cars. Within a week or two, I bought one for $250 and fixed it for about $200. A mechanic had looked at it and quoted the car's previous owner $2500 to fix it, so she let it sit for 2 years until I bought it. It is worth about $4k.
How about a simple parking lot litter cleanup service? It's not glamorous or sexy but ordinary people are making fortunes cleaning up after others. The work is done on-foot using simple hand tools. I started this as a side gig in 1981 and grew it into a six-figure business.
Auto detailing is a good side hustle too. It help me pay off my cars and help me with the down payment for my home. Are you need is a vacuum, bucket, tire dressing water hose with nozzle
People are so fast to look for the laziest thing, like flipping books. Cleaning cars is actual work, it is an industry. So annoying to see Engineers with graduate education thinking about grocery delivery for extra money
I started driving for Door Dash. I go out for 1 hour at lunch, 2 hours after work because I cannot drive after dark and I make 60 - 100 dollars per day during the week. I go out on Saturday and Sunday for 6 hours each day and make 300 -400 per weekend. I looked and there is no part time traditional job paying $1000 per week working just 27 hours without having a boss constantly down your back. Easy money. I track my miles, I drive less miles each week than I use to driving to a part time job both ways. Less gas too. Hope this information helps someone.
You are lying. I doordashed 35 hrs per week and after gas and accounting for taxes I cleared $500 per week. I did this for a year and I live in a highly populated city.
I do UberEats, Doordash, and I have went through all of my stuff and sold things I do not need on Marketplace. I have become a minimalist and it has kept me from buying unnecessary things too. We even did a 4 day multi-family garage sale and made thousands. I have made well over $15k doing this the past few years.
He is absolutely right about contacting your insurance company BEFORE you do Uber, Lyft, Doordash, etc. Sometimes we will cancel your insurance if we find out you didn’t let us know, definitely cancel that car’s insurance, and you WILL NOT be covered for that wreck. Only go into a part-time job like that if you’re willing to get auto insurance through your company like Doordash or a commercial “business” policy.
I started a little laser engraving side hustle it has really taken off and I am on the cusp of being able to turn my passion into a career. Even a cheap machine can bring in a few hundred to a couple thousand $ if you are better at marketing yourself than I was. If you are creative and not afraid to learn some pretty basic software, you can make some good side money.😊
im a shift manager as my main job but as my side gig i play the bagpipes on a professional level. i make anywhere from 150-400 for the gigs i play. far more then the average musician makes
I got dumped from Lyft, because of an old misdemeanor, after 5 months. Fulltime shopper with Instracart was great during the pandemic and the slowed down.
Always love the content! Be careful accepting non cash payments!!!! The new threshold is $600, down from $20,000. You will be considered self employed!!!! My daughter just graduated college with an accounting degree. She applied to over 370 "entry level" jobs that all required 3+ years experience. At that point she only had two seasons at H&R Block. Was very frustrating for her.
This is the norm now. The system is broken because of employer expectations vs what they offer. Several factors for this but a system reset will happen any many will hurt because of it. That is if the US doesn't fracture first.
Please ask her get a fake 3 years work experience from an Indian consultant, She will get the job next day onwards... meanwhile she will get lots to learn instead of wasting time after passout. Honestly is the best policy but now it won't bring food to the table.
Refereeing! I started with no experience except playing and coaching soccer and made about $6000 in the first year. I had to invest about $300 for the class, uniform, etc. The best thing about it is that I get to set the schedule. For high school games, it pays almost $1/min! Some folks do multiple sports.
My side hustle is instacart, my youtube channel and currently writing a cookbook. I love garage sales. I stopped going though as im getting out of debt. Reselling things though from them would probably be a good idea.
It's pretty fun too as long as you're checking what items have sold for on eBay. Gotta be careful though lol don't want to have a hoard you can't sell. With enough experience ppl can really make good money.
@autonope23 yeah that is the downfall to that. I hate hoarding. It would bother me a lot having things in my house for an extended period of time. I've been learning about couponing and stuff so that in itself is saving a ton of money
@kittensmitten3287 I'm not lol it's something I am working towards. Same with my cookbook also not making money off it as it's not out yet. Both are a work in progress which i consider a side hustle as they will bring in income eventually. However some people do make money before they're monetized through other ways through their channel. By products they sell or promote.
The picking up the glass is deceiving. Glass doesn’t pay anything. Like a nickel per pound. The distinction is that the old guys charges people to drop off the glass. You don’t make 5K a month recycling glass anywhere. Now transporting the glass is a different story.
I signed up with temporary staffing agencies almost 25 years ago. Even when I worked full time, part time jobs through the years I picked up extra jobs. I also had substitute teaching jobs. Second, I turn in bottles and cans for recycling. Sell items online. Yardsales.

Alternatively: don't do a side hustle because most of the time you're just overextending. Dive all in to what you do best, whether it be your current job or the business you've been meaning to start. Pareto principle. Not saying no one should have a side hustle. Just saying that they get over-glorified.
That doesn't make sense. I can go "all in" with my career field but I'm capped until my next raise or promotion. Side hustles are literally just for the money.
@@Globewanderer000 They should not be "just for the money". They should be something that you enjoy doing that you make a little bonus money from. You should be in a situation where you want to do them rather than needing to do them because you need to earn a little extra.
Side hustle are good, but where I live a lot people start doing pressure washing, the city figure out, and they required to register your business pull a license with insurance otherwise you’ll get a fine, o well
I looked into power washing business as a side job but all the articles were wrong that you could invest a few hundred and get out there. Everyone who does it is saying you'll never get off the ground unless you have at MINIMUM a 4GPM gas powered power washer that is mounted to a truck or trailer with a hundred foot minimum hose, and that even includes if you do nothing but small jobs. And be prepared for lots of part replacements. I imagine if you stuck to garbage can cleanings, you might get away with a smaller washer that's around $500 instead of $1200 but you need the truck and trailer.
Right. All of these "side hustles" require significant start up costs. Tools, vehicles, marketing, licenses... All things that Dave tells people not to buy when in debt.

I know this is a bit old but food for thought If you go to customers homes, hence the mobile detailing, and have proven you give excellent service, then you already have a client list who may need their driveways shoveled Don't know your health, age or any restrictions. But you can roll the auto detailing into driveway detailing for the autos!
My question is, how do you advertise your side hustle? I am currently looking to do bookkeeping as a side hustle that will hopefully eventually take over my full-time job. Any ideas? I do not have any social media accounts FYI
if he's working 40+ hours/week in a full-time job, seems like consulting on the side could be difficult. Folks hiring an engineering consultant are going to want to have meetings (and site visits if applicable) during regular working hours.
Uber is NOT a good hustle. You have to pay for gas, increased wear and tear (breaks, oil changes, tires), and adding miles to your car. All before taxes.
I’m a project manager for a construction company and make a great salary with gas reimbursement and I still want to do side work to make extra money. We are debt free on baby steps 4, 5, 6. I like to make extra money to help fund something we may want or to put extra in our savings. George gave me a great idea to offer to paint mailboxes in my neighborhood. I also have my own etsy shop selling items I find at yard sales and flea markets. I've had almost 600 sales so far. That's on the side of my full time job.

You need to take one day off a week, don’t drive yourself into the ground. Money isn’t worth it
An acquaintance of mine works for a rideshare company in their corporate office.
I do Videography and editing as a side hustle. Gets me around 45k-55k a year. It’s a great side hustle along with photography. Especially once you build up your clientele.
How did you go about doing that? Im into editing and photography also and looking to utilize the skill.

My boss at my job connected me with a local magazine who hired me pt to shoot local stories and produce videos for their website. Continued networking and meeting people along the way. It's so important to network man. Eventually I found my niche doing wedding videography on the side, making a good 50-70k a year from that. I've gone back to focusing on corporate work now though. Not saying no one should have a side hustle. Just saying that they get over-glorified.
A side hustle should be a monetised hobby. Earning money from something you'd probably do anyway

I looked into power washing business as a side job but all the articles were wrong that you could invest a few hundred and get out there.
