In trading, possessing technical analysis skills is not sufficient on its own; discipline and emotional maturity play crucial roles in achieving success. Embracing the mindset of "time in the market vs. timing the market" proves valuable, especially during market fluctuations. I attribute my growing daily earnings to Walter James's valuable insights and daily trade signals, coupled with my commitment to continuous learning, managed to grow a nest egg of around 127k to a decent 532k. Kudos to the journey ahead!

I lost over $80k when everything started to tank. Not because I was in an exchange that went belly up. I was just stupid to hold and because that's what everyone said. I'm still responsible. It just taught me to be a better investor now that I understand more of what could go wrong. It took me over two years of being in the market, I'm really grateful I found one source to recover my money, at least $10k profits weekly. Thanks Charlotte Miller.

I remember when I just got into crypto back in 2019 but later in 2020 I ended up selling it because I was dumb and I didn't understand it. I studied and learned and now I know how it works. Got back into crypto early in 2023 with 10k and I’m up with 128k in a short period of time .This comment serves as motivation for all those who have invested and continue to invest in cryptocurrencies with so many losses, do not give up, cryptocurrencies can change your life. Do your best to connect with the right people and you will surely see changes.

Fascinating video! As someone in their 50s, I'm increasingly focused on investments that can secure my retirement. I've heard stories of individuals making hundreds of thousands during market crashes. Recently, I listened to a podcast where someone earned over $650,000 in less than a year. I'm curious about the strategy behind these remarkable returns.

A lot of folks downplay the role of advisors until being burnt by their own emotions. I remember couple summers back, after my lengthy divorce, I needed a good boost to help my business stay afloat, hence I researched for licensed advisors and came across someone of utmost qualifications. She's helped grow my reserve notwithstanding inflation, from $275k to $850k.

I realized that the secret to making a million is saving for a better investment. I always tell myself you don't need that new Maserati or that vacation just yet. That mindset helped me make more money investing. For example last year I invested 30k in crypto and made about $246k, but guess what? I put it all back and traded again and now I am rounding up close to a million.

Recently bought some recommended stocks and now they are just penny stocks. There seems to be more negative portfolios in the last 3rd half of 2023 with markets tumbling, soaring inflation, and banks going out of business. My concern is how can the rapid interest-rate hike be of favor to a value investor, or is it better avoiding stocks for a while?

    • @Cammimullens
      @Cammimullens 20 дней назад

Just ''buy the dip'' man. In the long term it will payoff. High interest rates usually mean lower stock prices, however investors should be cautious of the bull run, its best you connect with a well-qualified adviser to meet your growth goals and avoid blunder

The truth is that this is really not as difficult as many people presume it to be. It requires a certain level of diligence, no doubt, which is something ordinary investors lack, and so a financial advisor often comes in very handy. Aggressive growth - any large cap growth fund, small cap, mid cap. Things like QQQ and the russell 2000 fit the bill.
      Growth - think S&P index
Growth and Income - any fund listed as large value. Think big, slow growth companies like Exxon that pay dividends
International - any NON US basket of stocks fund.

If you can get your money to double over and over, that 5th, 6th doubling is significant.
The Rule of 72 says that you can divide 72 by your rate of return and that is how long it takes for your money to double.
At a 5% rate of return, your money doubles every 14.4 years.
At a 10% rate of return, your money doubles every 7.2 years.

Mutual funds are offered by management companies like Vanguard and Fidelity. Some are actively managed, which means a team of analysts is watching the market and running calculations and picking individual stocks to include in a fund. And they want to be paid for that work, so there are fees involved.
Some are not actively managed. A set of parameters are created and stocks are measured against the parameters. If it meets the parameters, a stock is included in the fund. These types of funds have very low management fees, because there is not a human guiding the fund, demanding compensation for his hard work and insight.
Exchange traded funds (ETFs) are stock equivalents of mutual funds.
VOO is the same as Vanguard S&P500 mutual fund
VTI is the same as Vanguard's Total Stock Market mutual fund.
      etc.

Open a Roth IRA with a brokerage firm (Etrade, ScottTrade, Schwab, etc.)
Put your money in an ETF which is a stock that mimics a mutual fund.
VOO is the same as the S&P500. SPY is the same thing offered by a different company.
If you go with Schwab, I know you can buy fractional shares. SPY is currently at $500/share, so you would have to wait a month to have enough to buy a full share. Some other companies allow you to buy fractional shares. I know Vanguard does, as well.
Otherwise you can go to Schwab or Vanguard and buy into mutual funds. Vanguard has a long history of charging very low fees with many of its passively managed mutual funds. This would still be a Roth IRA.

And what about POST-TAX 401K vs PRE-TAX..? Who's to say if pre-tax growth will be better than the tax rate at your retirement or not?

    • @damondiehl5637
      @damondiehl5637 2 месяца назад

      Roth is the post-tax version.
      Traditional is the pre-tax version.
$10,000 grows the same in either account. With a Traditional account, you deduct the contribution at tax time. But everything is taxed when you withdraw it and you have required withdrawals at age 73. So a million dollars is probably more like $780k, depending on how fast you withdraw it (I'm assuming a 22% tax bracket).
With a Roth account, you don't get to deduct your contribution at tax time, but everything comes out tax free and there is no required distributions. And a million dollars is a million dollars.

    • @damondiehl5637

Dave has argued that in certain cases, it is worth the fees to invest in an actively managed mutual fund. His 12% returns seem like white elephants, but supposedly they are out there.
Roth just is a classification for how an account is taxed. After tax money goes into a Roth account, which means you get no deduction at tax time. But then in retirement, everything comes out tax-free.
With a Traditional account, you get to deduct your contributions at tax time, but then you pay taxes on everything that comes out, and you have required minimum distributions at age 72.
There are Roth 401ks and Roth IRAs, and there are Traditional 401ks and Traditional IRAs.
Dave talks advocates mutual funds, but you can buy essentially the same thing on the stock market with ETFs (exchange traded funds).
VOO on the stock market is the same as Vanguard's S&P500 Fund.
VTI on the stock market is the same as Vanguard's Total Market Index Fund.
Fidelity (and others) offer the same kinds of stocks.
Not every mutual fund has an ETF equivalent, but all the big ones do.

You will need a really safe investment like a CD, money market account or Treasury note. You are foregoing opportunity for safety.

You don't consider the employer contribution in the 15% rule. It's 15% of your annual income.
Roth is just the way an account is taxed. (Funded with after tax money and all the proceeds come out tax free in retirement).
If you are relatively young, Dave will always advocate for a Roth account, because you have so much time for the money to grow and it all comes out tax free. If you are ten years or less from when you will start taking money out, the Roth is not that beneficial.

If you use an IRA, you can drop it all at one time, but generally people invest over the course of the year. I don't see how you could drop a lump sum into a 401k. When you set up a 401k, you generally specify what percentage of your paycheck is to be contributed to your 401k and part of every paycheck gets deposited in your 401k. Keep in mind that IRAs and 401ks have a top end on how much you can contribute to them each year.
Timing the market is nowhere near as important as time in the market. Get your contributions out of your paycheck before you see them and you will never miss the money.
