I used to date a broke guy. He was a veteran and went to college after his discharge. We met during his senior year of college. We were the same age but I graduated from college, 4 years earlier and had been working in my career. He hadn't even started his career yet. He lived with his mom and drove a real piece of crap car. We've been married 30 years, have 2 amazing grown sons and a wonderful daughter in law. We own a home, 2 cars and take modest vacations with the kids. Right now we're trying to grow our 401Ks, hoping for grandchildren and looking forward to retirement. I wouldn't have any of that if I had parted ways with him because he was broke when we met.

The rich guys will obviously pay for your ubers and take you to a fancy dinner on the first date. Why? Because it's like pocket change to them. I'm broke as hell, since I'm in school full time. Me and my girlfriend have no shortage of fun things to do. Bird watching, hiking, basketball, ping pong, the park system has different events for super cheap or free, we go to trivia every week with friends, etc. We did a jigsaw puzzle and watched a movie tonight. We're training for a nighttime 7k through the forest and an obstacle course race. We knit/crochet. We play video games. We're going to start dancing and doing archery soon. We have a blast because we love each others company. If you can't afford a formal date, just get slightly creative.

I went on a friend date with a guy I like and he was more than happy to pay for my order, even though I declined. Even though I already know him I would never expect him to pay for an Uber. I'm broke as hell, since I'm in school full time. Me and my girlfriend have no shortage of fun things to do. Bird watching, hiking, basketball, ping pong, the park system has different events for super cheap or free, we go to trivia every week with friends, etc. We did a jigsaw puzzle and watched a movie tonight. We're training for a nighttime 7k through the forest and an obstacle course race. We knit/crochet. We play video games. We're going to start dancing and doing archery soon. We have a blast because we love each others company. If you can't afford a formal date, just get slightly creative.
Sounds like you and your girlfriend have a fun relationship. My boyfriend and I are going to Jekyll Island at the end of the month. Everyday is a date for us because we love each other for who we are. It's sad so many of these young women do not understand love and material gain.
