Matt Dyke Liam Lesson I’ll even pay for it , where does he operate from , can you give me his Email Address , a big please and a thank you !!! In anticipation Thank you Anthony Sutton
Liam lesson. I struggle with too much lateral sway/left knee movement. One of the things I did/do to firm it all up is make the takeaway slower so I basically don't have so many forces at work and gives me that 1/2 second extra to make a better transition and then apply the gas where it's needed through the hitting area..It's a work in progress but has improved my distance, accuracy and consistency. Those 3 then have a knock on effect with that fragile thing called Confidence. Would be great to meet Liam (and yourself) Great to have you back Rob.... All the best John (Essex)
Been trying this and it seems to work... I found by having the lead foot pointing towards 10 on the clock face and just having this has a swing thought has helped and it also helps stop me moving too much to the right on the back swing. I am still hitting some crap shots but now less so and the best thing is I am not getting stuck.
Watched this video yesterday and I just need to say THANKS. Did my best round of golf ever after watching this video, just wow! Keep up the good work, would love to see more of this type of content.
Great stuff Rob. In your vlog with Liam last year, (part 6) I remember suggesting you compare your lower body action with his!! Whaddacoach!! I had the same problem and achieved the lower body resistance by flaring my left foot out. This took me from 4 hcp to +1 People always overlook lower body action not realising that it governs the rest of the swing. Achieving lower body resistance will absolutely transform your ball striking. It is a fundamental of every great golf swing.
This is pretty well what I was feeling at the range yesterday but you and liam have explained it so well. Singularly the best golf swing thought video on RUclips I think. Many thanks Doug
‘Liam Lesson’ 🏌🏻♂️- these videos are without doubt the best insights into improving the amateur golfer from an excellent Tour Pro. Fabulous channel Rob. Thanks you Trev Simpson
I had a very similar lesson recently. Had the disco knees like you. Lesson sorted out my erratic strike pattern, which in turn brought my dispersion in a lot.
Hi Rob, great to see this. I had a lesson with Liam around the same time as this was recorded. Guess what we focused on the same issue, left knee. Some 8 months later my handicap has come down from 5 to 4 and is on its way to 3. My consistency is vastly improved. Liam is a top guy and love being part of TGN it’s such a fantastic group. Looking forward to hosting TGNers at Remedy Oak Dorset next week.
I am a serial quick fix chaser on RUclips. I’ve given up on trying to find that quick fix but this is the most relatable video I’ve found! Great to have you back and thanks for the lesson!
Early this year I listened to Arnold palmer's audiobook, he quipped that what made him a good ball striker from early on was that his legs and head were very still, I tried keeping my lower half more quiet this season and have noted improvement, dropping 3 shots, Liam's left knee advice is similar and makes so much sense, I love how he describes how he figured things out in the swing. Great video!
I’m seventy years old and I’ve watched hundreds of golf videos and may I say that your video is exceptionally enlightening.. I’ve turned my head right on the backswing because of a spinal operation. In other words I lose sight of the ball before swinging. When the ball comes into view I panic and come across the ball. I’ll try your method and hopefully things may change. “Great Video”.
Took this swing thought to the range today after doing the towel thing as well. It certainly helped me hit the ball more consistently and helped me stop the lateral hip movement>maybe too late but a Liam lesson would be fun
Love it. I have actually doubled down on this swing thought and I try to keep my right knee from moving/straightening in the backswing. Less moving parts with a better coil = greater ball striking and improved distance and accuracy. Liam is spot on in my book.
Liam Lesson. Went straight to the range with this swing thought, connection and dispersion improved drastically! Thank you for making such relatable content.
Liam lesson. Can't wait to try this out later today in the range. I haven't been able to rid myself of a pully transition and rotten chicken wing in follow through. Let's see if some of these moves can help address that. Been playing for just over a year now. Moved back from Mexico to Ireland and I have no clubs or course membership. It's tips like these that get me motivated to go out and play and keep up the golf!
Liam Lesson. This is literally the biggest issue I currently have and this series has helped loads. Thanks Rob and Liam seems to be a really good guy to have around. He can play a bit to. :)
liam lesson. Thank you. This was so helpful. I know it seems siimple to stay over ball and rotate. But these bad days are tough to figure out when your ball is going no where and you feel so defeated. Can't wait to try this.
Superb video. I personally "knee'd" to work on this. Sorry. This video reminded me of a driving range sesh from the other week when i forced myself to stop doing it and was puring my 3 wood. I will work on this more now. Thank you
I love that step back step forward drill... basically like throwing a ball you step forward and throw... If you keep your left knee forward it will shorten your swing and get you on a better path ... everything fine for me... you shouldn’t lift your left heel intentionally but let it happen and the further you turn the more it will raise without thinking ... 17:40... he mentioned what some found out... I sometimes really wonder what they look at... the feeling may be when the hands are hip high that they are already in a forward motion but the pressure is 1000% not on the left leg... as he mentions Jamie sadlowski... watch any of his videos... especially if he wants to get after one... at the top of his swing his left heel is high up in the air and the knee behind the ball... keeping the left knee forward may be good for precision and will work for people but resistance of the lower body against the upper body is NOT helping speed... it just hurts your lower back... Right now the fastest swing speed ever measured was just by joe miller in London ( just search for the long drive competition) wholistic had a club head speed of 157 or 158 (can’t remember 100%) just look how far behind the ball his left knee goes... no restriction of the lower body... i am not talking about consistency but about the claim that the wind up between lower and upper body creates speed... Otherwise keep looking forward to your videos... keep them coming...
Hi Rob im a TGN member and had a few lessons with liam this year already. Already gone from 14 to 11 in 3 months. This is a key factor is this id say. Liam makes the swing so simple.
Great to see you posting golf vids again Rob, I'm sure your scores will be back to what they were, or better, soon. I have to try this tip for sure, maybe I can get my game back also.
great vid .....looking forward to tomorrows ....but its grt to see you more relaxed in what you are doing it looks like a weight has been lifted off your shoulders .........brilliant !!!!
Thanks for sharing this. It's absolutely fascinating and logical. I haven't tried it on the range yet but I did go back to look at a slo-mo video of my buddy who's a great ball striker and he's go the stable left knee too. Must give it a try because I've been getting killed by inconsistency and I know I let my left knee come in quite a bit.
enjoyed the lesson. had to keep thinking of ross fisher - his lead knee "collapses" but he can still play top drawer golf. The step-step part of the lesson is a real power move.
Hi Rob, nice to see your back with new found enthusiasm. Much better lower body action and I can hear the quality of strike ! Well done. I would hazard a guess, that with staying more central, you have had to change the ball position with your Driver and moved it nearer your left instep. Take care and stay strong. Kim.
Cheers Kim, it's good to be back! I always looked to have it around level with my left instep anyway - I normally hit up on my driver by a few degrees. Hope you're well 👍
Liam lesson. Totally with you on this Rob, hearing Liam was like hearing my coach again. And my before video was just like yours, a baby giraffe swaying in the wind, lol. My first swing thought now is to bend my left knee slightly.... makes it impossible to sway. Like you, my ball striking improved straight away. I still need more rotation and can still get steep but proper foundation is the starting point. Keep the vids coming!
That's me. Left knee thing and problems with dispersion and very high ball flight. I'd better head down to the driving range to try it out! Keep up the good work Rob. Liam Lesson.
Warning: Trying this left knee thing can result in having to do on course arithmetic as I'm suddenly hitting everything nearly 10% further. :-D Best golf video on youtube right here!!
Interesting thought there and something I'd never thought of but definitely know I have lateral instead of rotational movement which has been my nemesis and stopped my improvement curve dead in it's tracks! Thank you for sharing Rob. I'd like to try out for the draw please if it's not too late but if it is I'm pleased I watched the video anyway. Liam lesson.
Just wanna say I used the technique at the weekend and scored 46 points in my doubles match at Widnes golf course on Saturday tied 2nd.... Used it on Sunday and shot my lowest ever round. 1 over par at the Nicklaus course at carden park. Had a put for birdie on the 18th aswell... never hit the ball so consistently. Thank you rob and Liam. Hope the scores keep coming. Thanks. Paul. 10 hcap
I am one of the 90% , going to range tomorrow to give it a try, watched a video of myself bringing my knee in far to much leading to all sorts of irregular shots. Very informative thanks 🙏
“Liam lesson” enjoyed the content and the lead knee drill, I’ve been hitting high iron shots and now can hit it more consistent at a lower ball flight. Cheers Rob.
Liam lesson , just been to the range to try this and very impressed, definitely more compression and a good 10 yds further will really work on this thanks Rob, just found your channel yesterday and subscibed keep up the good work
I absolutely agree with the stability in the left knee. I was watching D.J. hitting driver from the back view and I noticed that his left knee didn't move much so I tried it and what a difference it made in my swing. Lesson with liam if it's on line. I'm in the U.S. Great to see you back mate! Cheers.
Tried this today, felt like i was flaring my left knee out a bit, Rather than in on the backswing, i was flushing so many iron shots on the course! One of which was a 9 iron that stopped dead on the green, which never happens. So much more confidence after just 9 holes, cheers!
So I went to the range and tried to execute this. The knee flex was a big issue for me and getting a reverse c at impact leading to a high towering ball flight. Generally I strike the ball well but I'm haunted by some randomly bad, and I mean BAD shots. Results? This was a definite improvement. I felt more turn/staying over (covering) the ball and less slide and flip at release. I hit about half a dozen 7 irons in a row at one point that were so pure and flew lower but a good 15 yards longer, genuinely felt "Wow!" . I couldn't replicate the feeling all session, but it felt like genuine progress. Oh and Liam is such a nice guy!
Been having this problem with my swing recently, went on the range the other day and was flushing it by keeping my leg movement quiet. I had the problem with my left leg moving making my hips sway and the inconsistency was there to see. This video is exactly the problem i had explained.
Does Liam do lessons other than your competition, which I shall add "Liam Lesson" to enter? If so, where is he located and how do I contact him? In your previous golf journey videos I recommend George Gankas as someone to look at and Liam focusing on the legs like this is very similar to some of the videos that I've seen him do. I especially love the ignoring the hands and arms as it makes total sense for these to be led by the bigger lower body muscles. The arms move at six times the speed of the body but a perfect golf swing would have them moving at the same speed - it's not possible to speed the body up to meet the arms so the only way is to slow the arms down yet if you ask most golfers to swing it faster they will almost certainly try to speed their arms up as that is how our simple human brains work!
Liam lesson. I like the lead knee idea. I think I hold me knee well enough but I have some issues with early right arm release. Would love to hear liams thoughts on it!
If you want to win a lesson with Liam, just like the video, subscribe to the channel and leave a comment saying 'Liam lesson'! 🏌️

Liam lesson.

Great information Rob. Liam did an excellent job of explaining this. A little bit of what George Gankas teaches but way more simplistic.

Singularly the best golf swing thought video on RUclips I think. Many thanks Doug
Pure gold. Consistency has been my problem for years. Liam figured out why, Thanks for passing it on to us, Rob.
Great stuff. I’ve had to work so hard on this as I’ve been improving. Liam has a great understanding of the golf swing.
It all makes perfect sense.
He really does, because he's tried and tested everything 👍🏼
You both speak so much sense. Very refreshingly straight forward for a serial swing tinkerer to digest and try to apply ! Keep the content coming 👍🏻

Liam Lesson. Glad you're back, vocalising and sharing the trials we all suffer. Keep giving us hope 👍
Late to the party here Rob but fantastic content. Loving the lessons with Liam & am learning loads from them. Cheers! 👊

Liam Lesson! First time back after surgery onto the golf course yesterday! No big stick yet and in a buggy.... but onwards and upwards...
Good stuff, slow and steady!
Rob, Ive had almost the same lesson 3 weeks ago, made a massive difference. But so easy to slip back!
Liam lesson.
So glad to see you back on golf vids Rob, great video!
Liam lesson would love a lesson as being a newbie Liam seems so patient and not overly technical and maskes it sound simple .
Welcome back Rob! What an amazing video - thanks for sharing this knowledge

Haha, weirdly someone compared me to him a while ago!
Liam lesson. Brilliant drills, have only been doing them for a few days & can see my strike improving already. Liam lesson.
Cheers Rob.
Very interesting. It's something that I will look at as to whether or not my lead leg does the same as yours did. Keep you posted.👍
Liam Lesson - that was a real eye opener just how over complicated we make this game! Good work chap
Liam lesson
Great knowledge explained simply to any golfer. Top lesson, brilliant results.
Thank you for uploading
Stuart
Really good tip. I won't enter camp as I probably need a few lessons closer to home. Looking forward to the drill tomorrow
You can get an online lesson if that's any good!

Welcome back Rob, glad your back in the horse bud 🙌🏽👍🏽
Great video with Liam, I’m going to try this next range session.
I’ve struggled with this for years, weight shift and turn is taught so badly usually , this made sense to me , cheers (Liam lesson please)
I am one of the 90% , going to range tomorrow to give it a try, watched a video of myself bringing my knee in far to much leading to all sorts of irregular shots. Very informative thanks 🙏
Liam lesson - sorry to hear about how life has been. Missed your content, your humour and your passion
Liam is one of the best teachers I’ve ever seen. He has a real gift and hope he decides to coach during his career or after!
He's a good'un! Hoping to get him back on the channel soon and get some more of that wisdom!
Liam lesson, glad to see you back to making golf videos.
“Liam lesson” enjoyed the content and the lead knee drill, I’ve been hitting high iron shots and now can hit it more consistent at a lower ball flight. Cheers Rob.
Liam lesson , just been to the range to try this and very impressed, definitely more compression and a good 10 yds further will really work on this thanks Rob, just found your channel yesterday and subscibed keep up the good work
Liam lesson. Great vid as always. Great to see you back.
Great tip, excited to try and fail at this at the range tomorrow..
I’m gonna give this a go tomorrow!! Thanks mate for the great video!
Hope it's been going well (and sorry for the late reply!)
I absolutely agree with the stability in the left knee. Liam does online lessons so no problem there mate 👍
Liam lesson. I really liked this video - can't wait too try it out. And looking forward to the video tomorrow!!
Great video Rob. Welcome back!
Liam lesson. Fantastic Rob great to watch thanks.
I just watched this video and I deffinetly have the same thing with my lead knee, this has blown my mind lol! Liked and subscribed instantly!
Liam lesson. Great to see the golf back on the Chanel
He’s puts things across really well so would love a Liam lesson. Saw him at Sunningdale before Christmas and bottled saying hello 😕
Ah you should have done, he loves talking about golf!
Tried this today, felt like i was flaring my left knee out a bit, Rather than in on the backswing, i was flushing so many iron shots on the course! One of which was a 9 iron that stopped dead on the green, which never happens. So much more confidence after just 9 holes, cheers!
The sound of your shots seems so much better.. amazing..
Welcome back, Rob. Thanks for the vid.
Fantastic vid Roberto, could be a game changer, can't wait to get out and try it...Would love a Liam lesson..

Liam Lesson! I have a massive slice problem with the woods and a lot of this seems relevant!
Liam lesson. I like the lead knee idea. I think I hold me knee well enough but I have some issues with early right arm release. Would love to hear liams thoughts on it!
Liam lesson ... glad you're back matey
Interesting thought, especially the statement about simplicitybkeading to efficiency!! Realy nice. Will try it (knee)
Great stuff Rob. Would be great if whoever wins the lesson with Liam, videos it and you broadcast it?
Liam lesson, please. I subscribe to TGN, and now your vids have started again...my life is complete lol !
