Very interesting hearing Liam's thoughts. My game is definitely improving from the advice in the last few videos. I even had my first handicap cut for months this week. Keep 'em coming!!
Great video that. Nice to have a really detailed in depth breakdown of the each shot and the reasoning. Course management is something I have let slip recently.
Glad your back making golfing content again! Been watching for a while, dont think I’ve ever commented... After 2 months of the wheels being well and truly off of my game and not being able to get close to my handicap (11.7) . A week or two ago I sat and watched your video of the lesson with Liam and took those drills and the preshot rotation feeling out of it. Then Friday night I sat and watched this video. A new insight to course management for me, went out and shot 78, broke 80 for the first time. Just purely missing to the right area (75% of the time 😂) keep up the great work, look forward to more video’s!
I could not play golf like that without changing my entire swing! 😂😂😂 It's a different world how you play the game Rob and another universe how Liam plays it! Respect.
Great video Rob, getting this kind of information from guys playing the game for a living is youtube gold! Thank Liam and keep up the good work. You recommended Alex Evan’s to us last year who does a lot of this type of stuff with Paul Waring, maybe you could give him another plug on your channel, he is still struggling for subs and it would be a shame to lose him.
love the video Rob/Liam course management a must were ever you tee it up ..... great vid keep them coming guys .....oh Rob awesome drive ..but yes you are right they dont like it when you out drive them lmao ..
He is right. I changed my game overnight by learning how to think. Some people can LET the process happen. I have to actively MAKE it happen. I honestly think that's why there are so many people on tour that are perceived as stiff or boring.....honestly its that they are thinking about their next shot without breaks and it takes that much concentration for many.....thats why people like Trevino were anomalies. Keep up the great work sir. And all the best to Liam.....I hope you can play loose with intensity!
I never make a bogey when I play my course in my head the night before each medal. Sometimes that Mike Tyson quote springs to mind in relation to my course management... "Everyone's got a plan, until they get punched in the face". 😭
Parkland can be tricky with wind if you're throwing grass up. I always try to look at the tops of tall trees, that tells you what the wind is really doing once the ball gets up in the air
Rob great video, very informative. Just out of interest how tall are you, and do you know what your driver swing speed is ? (curious because mine goes nowhere near 260 and i'm 6'6")
Management is what wins matches imo. If you're even close to being competitive, I'd say that management, when done properly, will win you more matches than you lose. In fact if you lose, it's usually chance accident, or you just played poorly. Either way, management is key to everything.
Mine would be to 'hang in there' mentally no matter how bad of a start you make. My best rounds have nearly all come from really strong back 9s after bang average/poor front 9s
Carry-on with what Connor said, remember how lucky I am to be on the golf course. I know plenty of people young or old who cant play golf or who have died etc let alone those from poorer places. The fact we can we can hit a white ball around beautiful landscapes, enjoy it!
If you’re a high handicapper, use your shots. If you get two shots on a tough hole, play it like a par 6; don’t try and crush the driver down the middle with out of bounds left and hazard right.
It's all about misses though. Obviously if you miss your target by 100 yards you're going to be struggling no matter what but I think most golfers could make the game a bit easier for themselves with better strategy.
Never lasted through a 40min video on RUclips before Rob, until now! Great video, really useful. Good to have you back doing this.
More of these please, it’s so helpful to have a pro explaining the course management thought process as you play along.
Very interesting hearing Liam's thoughts. My game is definitely improving from the advice in the last few videos. I even had my first handicap cut for months this week. Keep 'em coming!!
Good work mate. Loads more good stuff coming!

Love this mate, obviously the credit is all Liam's, not mine, but makes all the hours editing etc worthwhile!

Thanks mate. I'd be happy to do a video with Alex if he's up for it!
Great content Rob. Could watch these all day. Liam is just a mine of information. Keep up coming please.
Keep your eyes peeled next week mate!
Brilliant video, so much great advice and little tips to take to the course.
Rob you outdid yourself again! Love the video! Keep the content coming
Thanks mate! Got a few more with Liam coming up next week so hope you enjoy them too!
Some priceless advice. Great video. Thanks Rob
Glad you liked it!
Liam seems to be good stuff. I like his style. Down to earth kind of guy. Enjoyed the video.

Great stuff Rob - Loved Liams reaction to your drive - nice bragging rights haha
Enjoyed that, cheers. Good to see you happy again
Nice one lads, tks for that, great vid! 👌⛳

Thanks for this one mate
very enjoyable and informative.
Great video guys !!
Fantastic. RUclips gold. Thankyou
Great video!!
Really like these vids where we just follow you guys, Liam is wicked good and very good at explaining. What is your handicap atm Rob?
Woow, nice Drive!
Course management and self management - a key takeaway to learn from 👍
. . . and a 0.4 cut in yesterday’s medal is evidence it works 😊
Absolutely love how raging he is with you out driving him. Refers back 2 it at least 5 times 😁😁😁😁⛳
💪💪💪
When is the Driver lesson video coming out? Great insight on this video. Thanks.
Todd Yoder I thought this was a driver lesson
Ben green Driver technique lesson. Similar to his lesson video using towels, taking Iphone video, etc.
Like Liam a lot, seems like a top bloke.
Not this again 💔😂
Great stuff, thanks
Great video mate! Course management costs me so many shots! 😬
Cheers bud! You should view that as a good thing - easy to change and start shooting lower!
I never make a bogey when I play my course in my head the night before each medal. Sometimes that Mike Tyson quote springs to mind in relation to my course management... "Everyone's got a plan, until they get punched in the face". 😭
Very very useful insights into making better choices on the course.

Rob can you explain about the smash bag
Did you see the videos last week? The stuff with the towels is in place of a smash bag.
@@RobMcGarr ok m8 I'll check it out
very good.
Really enjoyed this. More of the same please
Rob great video, very informative. Just out of interest how tall are you, and do you know what your driver swing speed is ? (curious because mine goes nowhere near 260 and i'm 6'6")
I'm 6'3". Swing speed somewhere between 100-107 I think.
What is aim point by Jaimie
Aimpoint is a green-reading system and Jamie (Donaldson) is one of the leading coaches for it.
Love it
What irons does liam play with?
Ping i210
@@RobMcGarr ust as i thought.I like them myself
I'm still on i25 🙄
@@RobMcGarr oh dear, splash the cash
@@CraigalFun There isn't much to splash!

I think it's so often overlooked. People think "It's no use me having a strategy because I don't hit it where I want to" but that's the whole point!
Ho do u do the shot tracer ?
I use the Shot Tracer App
@@RobMcGarr ive tried it but it never seems to wrk..what am i doing wrong ?
What's your number one piece of golf advice? Let me know! 👇👇👇

Talk about something else than golf while walking between holes.

I use Scott Fawcett’s Decade app and course management system. Best thing I ever spent money on....
liam lesson 😁
Gold
👍
Somehow I feel like course management would be way more fun and rewarding if I could hit even remotely close to where I aim..
It's all about misses though. Obviously if you miss your target by 100 yards you're going to be struggling no matter what but I think most golfers could make the game a bit easier for themselves with better strategy.
Rob McGarr + makes sense
Currently working on the ”hit it where I aim” with a new coach today and will be coming back to this if he sorts me out 😊
Liam looking like a young Lee Westwood
I almost said that to him on the day but after outdriving him I thought that might tip him over the edge 😂
@@RobMcGarr you should of for the content 🤣
@@davemillo8337 😂 No more content if he kills me 🤕
@@RobMcGarr haha tbh I wouldn't wanna get on the wrong side of Westwood either 😂

Easy ..Learn to putt.......
So this is all about course management eh, “ how far is the tree to go over”
“ 220, hold on I’ll just laser it, oh about 175!!
WTF!

TheRichardgrime 😂😂 to be fair mate I’ve never had to think about it before as it’s not really in play lol.
Yeah me neither.... Not till at least my 3rd shot anyway!
Fair shout, but with us amateurs’ we only hit it 225!
first
You even beat me! 😂
