For me the XZ3 wins better processor, better display quality, better sound, cleaner android, and faster updates, micro sd card slot, and now a better design
Silver Graham Palme p20pro has better fingerprint located at front, better battery, better photo and video stabilisation, 6gb ram vs 4... sony design is suxxx:-P

@Ihsan Husandi Haha totally agree with you. The price tag is close to Note 9 which has lots of features to offer unlike this XZ3 sony phone with jurassic features and style. Well the side senes is not so impressive as galaxy phone already have that only in swipe mode unlike side tap. Sony needs to catch up very hard. They are being left behind.
I had a choice between the 2 and settled on the xz3... better screen, Front facing speakers (i found that on the p20pro bass tweeter setup had a strange phasing effect) and the UI is cleaner and fresher on the Sony and software and security updates ever 6 weeks... I found the p20 menus and UI very over complicated... also Sony has made huge leaps forward with the camera software and algorithms, even since the xz2... I love my Sony, its a great multimedia device, the p20 is great too, just IMO..vits UI is overcomplicated, and a notch doesnt bother me either..n

Always best? They've been behind for like at least 4-5 years. Ugly design, bad camera software, the list goes on and on.... But this phone looks okay, not good but okay.

Camera still beats all,(P20Pro looks oversaturated af)
Ask any photographer which one would they choose.They'd say Sony of course,natural colors,excellent details,where all 3 cams of the P20P lacks in performance with their copy Leica lenses.
Kirin 980 is still chinese grade even in M20P.
Mali GPU never catches up to Adreno.
I'd rather buy a phone with better camera/performance/design(Own opinion)/display.
You can't deny that a Chinese chipset can't outperform the real deal.
You can't deny that the Display is gorgeous (Ask unbiased people about it, 9/10 Will choose Sony).
You just CAN'T deny that a Single 19MP camera beats a Triple 40+20+8MP camera in detail and basically everything,if you can't see the difference,you're pretty much blind.
The only thing the Sony lacks in is the design (For some people who aren't me).
I'd rather pay less for more,so thanks,Huawei,but never.

What I'm doing it's good to have Sony back again my last Sony phone was the XZ. OLED finally with Bravia tech makes it even more enticing.
They may not be making one. But, there's probably no need. Also, perhaps they couldn't get a curved screen that small. It's mostly the same as the xz2c if they did make one.

After a lot of reviews I bought the Bordeaux red Sony Xperia xz3.... sexiest phone ever, BUT the battery is bad, really bad
I only dislike the edges on the xz3 (personal thing) I hope they won't do that on every phone, for this reason I would prefer the xz2, but that red colour is stunning 😱

I think Sony is too late for the party, the industry is not looking for design innovation anymore but for well priced smartphone, since most phones have reached their best design and almost look the same with each other . Sony should now focus on customer support which will eventually speak for their brand. Thou i love Sony phones and I'm still using my xperia z5. Great build quality at competitive price should be the next game changer, with one plus and pocophone showing how it's done.

Yeah, only XZ2/XZ2 Premium/XZ3 from Sony have that feature. Note 9 cannot record videos HDR10 or HLG format.
No one can record 4k hdr except sony ,,, and hdr playback is supported on LG , Samsung , Sony and iPhone x as of now

The P20 Pro still has the best zoom and Handheld night mode out there. Sony's phones always had bad camera software in previous phones.

Sony also has a facial recognition by SmartLock, you should have mentioned that.
Hmm... I'm pretty sure there's a face recognition option in Smart Unlock, which should be baked in the Android OS since several years ago (KitKat?). I doubt Sony disabled that.

I hate the position of that finger print reader on the XZ3.
I really would prefer if some reviewer would demonstrate how to hold a device in hand and then talk about the Fingerprint scanner position of the XZ2/3. How do you pick up the phone? how do you hold the phone in the hand?
Are your fingers vertically facing when you hold the phone all the time? or is it horizontal? yes, Surprise!!! its horizontal and now where's the index finger at?

If I hold those phone with the finger print placement on top... My thumb can't even reach half of the screen , if I hold xz2 with the fingerprint at the middle.. My thumb can reach "Qwert" without A problem.
If one-handed mode I can type faster.
They both win in "no headphone jack" part. Xz3 can't win in low light conditions. I prefer low quality stereo to give way for headphone jack.

I like XZ3's display more, but as for the design I'll take P20 Pro any day. Centre-mounted FPS is a joke. But anyway I won't get P20 Pro because I'm still patiently waiting for Mate 20 Pro... that one will feature a lot better SoC and camera than both XZ3 and P20P!

4:27 Sony rounds the corners of one handed mode matching the full display, Huawei has sharp corners except the one in the real corner of the screen. It's little touches like this that people miss sometimes while judging the experience of using these devices ;p

That's xz3 design is lush and those colours is something els 😍so then xz3 premium hmmm next year yeah it's gunna ermmm different the xz2 premium what's yet to be released in the UK with its first flagship dual camera setup and its 6gb ram is hype as rn so we really can't wait for the xz3 premium with a design like that 😍 and will the premium's panel be a OLED 4k HDR maybe who knows time will tell..

The only thing I don't like is that curve edged screen... Just make it flat!!! So that my "tempered glass protecter" can install it properly to protect the screen =/

ugh. i wish these reviewers would stop with the hammering on the fingerprint placement. -it's fine-. they're just use to it being higher up on other phones, that's all. when one is "finding" the scanner, in a pocket, pulling out of a bag, off of a desk etc. it's actually easier to do so when it's centered like it is. get a grip (literally ;)).
