I actually have a XZ2 premium and Note 9 with Exynos chipset, I personally prefer the Sony. Dual camera amazing, stereo speakers awesome, and that 4k screen.
I have got mine Xperia xz3. Oh my God what a phone, what a screen it has so much crispy and vibrant. Even it has feel, people notice this beauty in your hand.
Note 9 got the better speakers, that's it. Sony could definitely make their speakers louder, but apparently, Japanese people always prefer the quiet ambience sound, and I understand that, but they need to realize that not everyone has a similar taste, and they should also give an option to everyone for a louder output. The jack also needs to return. 2019 must be the year of correction, just as Samsung corrected most of their mistakes this year. They're heading the right way with their current situation. All they need is to continue down this path and they can regain the position in the market that they've lost in the battle. Seeing the same chipset perform better on the Sony is a disgrace for a Korean giant company. As for memory management, I don't think the XZ3 has actually reloaded an app. It might appear that it reloaded, but it opened the app quicker than it would when it wasn't running in the RAM. Also, I'm glad that you've turned off the Smart Cleaner. It appears that the majority don't know about this.

Sony didn't refresh any app (Except CNN, which both refreshed). Both Netflix and Spotify were in the memory. Netfilx has a small animation before it displays the main page which it didn't when you opened it again, same goes for the Spotify. They only flickered, that's why it seemed like it had reopened them. By the way, what Sony version do you have, 4 or 6gb? If it's a 4gb version then it's really amazing that it was able to hold all the apps in the memory as I have seen some other speed tests where it couldn't keep all of them, and the number of apps in that test was less than yours.
Anyone saying Sony or Samsung display looks better based on RUclips videos, please stop. You're comparing looking at two OLED screens most likely on your LCD laptop, mobile or TV display. To really judge which is best you need to see them both in person.. Also don't forget there's subjective and objective parts of what makes a screen better. So you might prefer it and it makes it better in your eyes but based on stats like colour gamut, ppi, maximum nits etc it could be the inferior of the two.

The xz3 is not Sony's most expensive and expensive flagship. Sony Xperia xz2 Premum is the most expensive Sony smartphone. Both in terms of camera and 4khdr display. Why the Xz2 premium, which absorbs light at 5x magnification, is based on the size of the 1/2/3 and 51200 ISO sensors, and the use of a black and white sensor that absorbs three times the color of the light and has a f1 / 6 diaphragm aperture. And the display is 2 times larger than the Samsung pixel because Sony has 4k hdr and Samsung has 2k hdr.
Sony sounds much more natural, it is focused on middle frequencies, samsung is more focused between middle and high frequencies and when some people hear, they say: wow it sounds great, louder. But actualy sound waves are very sharp, some speakers may have more bass and treble but weak middle frequencies. Also Dinamycs are very important to get natural sound. First reason why i like sony is that sound is natural. One of few reasons why i love my xz1 compact is that Sound with headphones is amazing, very natural, deep, and full. thing what i want in sony phones is music player with real time converter DSD512 format. Neutron player has this format and with this player sound is incredibly focused. of course DSD format is created by sony..

@@Mustafa_9628 I get that note 9 has no compromises but Sony isn't about that , it is about providing premium products . They are trying to do the same as apple , going wireless. They even have hi-rez wireless quality . Btw im from India where iPhones (maxed out version) cost around $1800 and for us the note 9 (maxed out ) starts for $1200+ and Sony XZ3 still costs $950 .So comparatively I know that Sony is costlier but it still cheaper than the flagship products.

It depends on what you like and (worth) is subjective and dpendant on your taste in this market
For exp: i never liked oneplus phones because they lack many features i find it essential to how i use phones
Xz3 has no headphone jack, smaller battery average at best camera with dated ui look and good audio and screen
That itself a compromise for me and dont justify its price at all

Maybe u dont like sammy phones and like other phones
Maybe you dont care about bigger battery, notches or even no headphone jacke

Sony sounds much more natural, it is focused on middle frequencies, samsung is more focused between middle and high frequencies and when some people hear, they say: wow it sounds great, louder. But actualy sound waves are very sharp, some speakers may have more bass and treble but weak middle frequencies. Also Dinamycs are very important to get natural sound. First reason why i like sony is that sound is natural. One of few reasons why i love my xz1 compact is that Sound with headphones is amazing, very natural, deep, and full. thing what i want in sony phones is music player with real time converter DSD512 format. Neutron player has this format and with this player sound is incredibly focused. of course DSD format is created by sony..
