Thank you sony for comming back, we always believed you could do this and so much more, as apple said, we got inspired by the best SONY, so guys at least me, i'm turning back my tech home finally.

Cuz exactly they are affordable... so they'll be able to use it on future to come high mid range smartphones, The whole market industry it's migrating from LCD to Oled, go check out for yourself how many mid range smartphones are using oled panels now... Like Mi 8 wich costs like $370, Samsung J2 prime wich cost like $250 and has oled display, etc... so in conclusion those cheap panels can't be compared with high end, high quality sony JPDI and panasonic panels, or even the Amoleds made by samsumg.
I own the xz2. I had the fingerprint scanner position in muscle memory in about a week. I can see why a reviewer who switches phones all the time would have trouble with it being in a different spot than most.. But someone who buys one phone a year won't care.
Nice and finally a step in the right direction with other OLED display. I will wait till next year when Sony bring out a premium model with 5G, 4K OLED display and the new 48MP IMX586 sensor in it.
I used to own an xz3.. just didnt like it.. SONY says the speakers on the XZ3 are 20% louder than the xz2.. HOWEVER, while, yes.. they are LOUDER they have no mid-range boost.. which means they sound loud but tinney.. the xz2 have a nice round fatter sound.. and are loud enough.. the battery life is the same.. the 3300 of the xz3 balances out the power consumption of the oled screen, so the 3130 on the xz2 and its LCD use the same battery life ... the camera has slightly better low light processing but only in software, which is very small.. side sense is quite bugged right now and it drove me nuts.. it kept activating itself... .. So to me, the only upgrade was that amazing screen.. and yes... it is amazing.. BUT, I took it back and got the xz2 instead.. and some cash back... very happy... plus the xz2 has had 7 months of updates... If you have the cash, go for the xz3.. but the xz2 is still a current flagship, better speakers, identical camera (xz3 low light tweaks) still amazing screen... XZ2 is an awesome phone :)
Hey man! Just a thought... Do you think one who doesn't change device often (I plan to keep one 2 years at least, maybe even up to three) should be concerned with burn-in? Obv I am talking about xz3.
@@nicolar.8240 No worries with burn-in... The xz3 uses a new P-oled, not the older Samsung Pentile amoled, which were notorious for it... I wouldn't worry about burn in anyway going into 2019, i think its all been sorted, just enjoy your xz3 friend and dont read too many forums as itll ruin your enjoyment... remember that people only take to forums when they have a problem..., it is a great phone... Go buy it and dont worry..
I agree, that there is no big difference between hardware, but don't you think that the looks of the xz2 is worse? As I see it's a thick phone. And also, a problem is its slippery. Isn't it?

Just bought the xz2 compact not long ago and am sooo satisfied. The xz3 looks magnificent especially in bourdeaux red. Im knida disappointed though that the xz3 is out so soon. Couldnt they wait a bit for the new Snapdragon processor? Dunno when it comes out but itll be so much better i guess. It would really let this smartphone stick out. Now its a phone thats interesting but not so exciting. Still Sony rules!
@@orbital16 It's pretty good. I had the Huawei P9Lite before and it's really such a huge step imo. The pictures are nice, detailed with accurate colours. The Bokeh effect sucks and lowlight ain't the best but it's okay. Besides, the camera wasn't the main reason why I bought this phone.
The xz 2 screen looks better, why bother have round a screen with round edges if its not even bigger than the one of the xz 2, also the screen on the xz 2 is just more sony style, and im happy to have that phone i bought it last year and it has android 10 and runs like a champ

Well Sony quality is like a Mercedes in car world. Pocophone is Dacia. One is a luxury piece of tech, the Chinese is a utilitarian smartphone at a very good price
I exchanged my xz3 and went back to xz2.. The xz3 speakers are tinney, side sense keeps activating at random and because of the design and size (which is gorgeous), the 3 slides out of your hand is easily dropped.. The camera tech is the same on both.. IMO, the xz2 is a better phone.. The screen on the xz3 is slightly better but nothing in it.. Not worth the exchange.. Its not an upgrade
You could have mentioned that the Xperia Actions is gone with the xz3. A deal breaker for many xz2 users to upgrade. It's gone from xperia 1 and 5 models too. Hopefully you put it back Sony and keep your customers
I held both today and with my small hands the xz2 was a better fit for me. The screen does look really good on the xz3 and I do love the red, but the size was the deciding factor in the end. Shame about the headphones in both. Not a fan of bluetooth.
Just imagine how great it would be if this phone had the power button + fingerprint on the side still. I mean, even my friend who is a die hard Samsung fan, loved the fingerprint reader on power button on my Z5 Compact. No idea what made Sony ditch it...

I really like this phone, I was about to switch to iphone8 but, looks like this xperia is the one I was waiting for a long time. probably next one will have double camera on the back and higher memory. I don’t know if it’s worth waiting for the next model but xz3 got my attention. definitely worth buying and one another thing, xperia phones last long, so probably I can use this one for the next 5 or 6 years maybe more. xperia phones have excellent batteries and constant software updates, this is also a plus.

was a fan of amoled display from samsung.. from s7 to s9 found no color accuracy in display's..each one of em had tint's to it..if one had red the other had green..ever since i quit looking for a samsung device..i think its the best time to switch to a sony brand...

Sony kind of admitting the lacklustre gains in the XZ2 and pushes out this XZ3 pronto before it once again falls behind the pack. Overjoyed Sony are keeping up now. Could have done with 6GB Ram just to split the competition who still rock 4GB on the 845. Can't fault my XZ2 camera except the steadyshot isn't functional in 4K HDR recording. My still photos are exceptional though!

I don't understand Sony's strategy because they might upset some fans and also the timing doesn't seems to be right.XZ2 is very well and beautifully design from my point of view but the XZ3 is even more beautiful and the new improvements are very good.The price of the XZ2 will drop and till february/march the xz3 will also drop considerably so it will make a very good buy.

I'm quite happy with current xz2. Not a fan of curved screen and curved corners display. Watching media and gaming really horrible experience on curved screen.
@Ihsan Husandi it's good for watching movies that have an 18:9 ratio, for 16:9 you can watch it as if it were on a non bezelless phone (black bars) or you can crop the top and bottom to make it bigger if you want, there usually isn't anything important there anyways but that's the user's choice.

That's an awesome phone! With an Oled display finally, counting on the Sony software color accuracy from the Bravia brand it's going to be a great display matching those of Samsung galaxy!! It's the best Sony smartphone ever made and I'm glad to see them back in the game. Might be late but better late than never! The Xperia XZ3 Premium will have the dual lens camera or the 43 MP lens inside. Can't wait before buying one of these phones. I wanted to buy a Sony smartphone for a while but never did, now it's time to do so! Switch my 160€ Lenovo for one of these lol

People complain about the fingerprint sensor - reach in your pocket and pull out your phone - much easier to reach a fingerprint sensor in the middle. And it means your phone can be on by the time it reaches your eyes.
Frankly, the IPS LCD screen is very beautiful and its colors are very natural.

most media is 16:9 so it wont interfere. as for normal web browsing and scrolling through apps i dont care really
@Ihsan Husandi it's good for watching movies that have an 18:9 ratio, for 16:9 you can watch it as if it were on a non bezelless phone (black bars) or you can crop the top and bottom to make it bigger if you want, there usually isn't anything important there anyways but that's the user's choice.
@Ihsan Husandi I've watched plenty of movies on my phone. It's better quality than my TV and I can watch it wherever I am, plug in some earphones.

am stuck in a middle...which phone should i go for..xz2 or xz3? the only thing keeping me back from buying the xz2 is the display as it has lcd which means poor contrast and colors..not really know the quality of lcd panel used in xz2..

That's an awesome phone! With an Oled display finally, counting on the Sony software color accuracy from the Bravia brand it's going to be a great display matching those of Samsung galaxy!! It's the best Sony smartphone ever made and I'm glad to see them back in the game. Might be late but better late than never! The Xperia XZ3 Premium will have the dual lens camera or the 43 MP lens inside. Can't wait before buying one of these phones. I wanted to buy a Sony smartphone for a while but never did, now it's time to do so! Switch my 160€ Lenovo for one of these lol

People complain about the fingerprint sensor - reach in your pocket and pull out your phone - much easier to reach a fingerprint sensor in the middle. And it means your phone can be on by the time it reaches your eyes.
So tempted to sell my XZ Premium for this.... 😂
Wait for the xz4 or xz4 premium, it will be more worth it, you're only getting small spec upgrades and a lower Res display
