This was not live, Phil Cranham the bass player told me in conversation they recorded a quick version in the studio earlier in the day. Restrictions didnt permit them to be able to play live.
@EB84 Instruments are clearly not live (takes more than a power cord to connect a keyboard and lots of cords/cables missing) but the singing seems live.
They brought joy to many In my younger days. This song is perfect, Perfect in every way. May they both rest in peace, In life their music filled the air. So many hit records they achieved, This truly wonderful pair. ❤️❤️

Those notes beginning at 0:53 and then again around 1:46 are super hard to hit...and sadly, even just a year or two later Don couldn't hit them. Beautiful voices--in their prime no one has ever been better.
@@fredpearson5204 I know what you mean. Personally, I think Don would have been able to hit them, as he was capable of hitting higher notes than those you are talking about in other songs, live, in the 80s. But he was always improvising a lot and I think he just wanted to make it easier for himself, but I think he would haven been able to do them technically.
It's the 2 or 3 imperfections that makes this a perfect live performance.

Fabulous !!
Fantastic performance with BRILLIANT backing. Great song and Everlys at their best.
and of course, the superb Albert Lee on guitar!
Schöne Zeiten waren das als die beiden schönen Everlys noch da waren.😊😊😊😊

Such a happy, lively performance… and needless to say, Don and Phil sound as brilliant as ever AND THEY’RE SINGING LIVE! True genius.

Thanks for sharing! :-)
This is so, so good.
I love Don´s look at 0:59 towards Phil: "Brother, where are you? Ah, here we go, all good!" :)
Paul McCartney's gift to the Everlys for all of the inspiration they gave him and John.
Did Paul write that? It was great!
Always Everly Brothers!

Sorry - Don was hitting high notes for some years after this. Not sure which performance you’re referring to??
@@judeward5341, hit or miss, but a lot of misses. Plenty of videos on RUclips.
